Ample Driving School

Fantastic experience: I compared a few different instructors and their teaching styles before ending up with Eugene. I found Eugene to most likely be one of the best instructors in Sydney. - He is a very intelligent, good individual who has very strong road awareness/observation skills. - He knows everything there is to know about driving and passing the test. - He even knows most of the driving test officers around. - He is genuine and didn’t try over charging me or encourage me to take additional lessons I didn’t need (which is rare). Learning from him gave me so much confidence and trust in myself that I would keep myself safe driving moving forward. I passed my test first time scoring 108/100. I highly recommend him. Negative experience: I went to booked for a 1.5 hr. drive lesson for the second time with Eugene of Ample Driving School. During first lesson, he is more productive in teaching but not this second time. At first, He demonstrated what type of car we are driving as it was an electric car, which is not necessary to discuss. After discussion, he went to park the car where wie will practice. While the car was parked, I told him that how many hours do I still need to take a lesson as I’m planning to take driving test next month. He told me there is "No Way" that is possible. He told me that driving lessons depends on age. 20 years old will take 20 hours, 30 yrs old will take 30 hours, 40 yrs. Old will take 40 hours, and so on. I was shocked and told him I am planning only for 2 more lessons as I am tight on budget. He then told me there is no way it would hapoen. I asked for estimated hours. He told me the same. I told him I took 7 time of driving with a friend and another 2 lessons from him including today, and 1 lesson from EZ License. He told me its doesn’t count as its need to be 30 hours. During my first lesson with him, he told me I just need 6 driving lessons. Then he asked me, if I have ADHD. I told him “No, I don’t have” he told me I act like I have ADHD. HE IS DISCRIMINATING his student! He doesn't know that his words TRIGGERS me. DO NOT TRUST HIM! He TALKS WAY TOO MUCH and not being productive. Giving examples not related to my license. HE WANTS HIS WAY, doesn't think of his student. HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A LESSON PLAN. MONEY HUNGRY!!! HE PREFERS CASH AS A PAYMENT because he doesn't want to pay ATO. The moment he told me ADHD, I wouldn't book any lesson. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this driving school. NO RESPECT!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing time having Eugene as my driving instructor. He is very professional, detail oriented, nurturing and also incredibly patient. When I first started with Eugene, I had pretty low self esteem because of personal bad experience from taking driving test many years ago (I was converting my overseas license to NSW license). Plus I had approached another instructor prior to Eugene and their teaching methods was unclear which made me even more nervous. Eugene understood my concerns and was very reassuring in his teaching methods. His instructions were always clear and concise. His intentions of making sure you do well are very genuine. This meant that he’s appropriately recommending the amount of classes you would need instead of overselling. Thanks to Eugene, I got a perfect score on my driving test! I was so anxious and made so many mistakes when we practiced the day before but Eugene taught me how to relax and stay focused which helped a great deal in boosting my confidence. I would not have been able to do it without him

Fantastic experience: I recently booked with Eugene through Groupon. I'm new to driving, and I must say that he is a very good instructor. He explained most of the things that my previous instructor didn't teach me. He is very patient and he didn't make me feel nervous at all although I made a lot of mistakes. The price is reasonable and I'm looking forward to book more sessions with him.

Fantastic experience: I had signed up for a refesher class as I had not driven a car for more than 2 years. I can say Eugene has been the best instructor I have come across so far, very professional and explained concepts with great clarity. I feel very comfortable and confident driving again.

Negative experience: You get a discount if you give 5 stars and I said no, so he yelled at me. He does not know how to drive.

Fantastic experience: I took 2 hours lesson with Eugene and another hour just before taking the driving test. I’ve also booked the car with Ample for the test. I must say that Eugene is very professional, patient and definitively has a lot of experience teaching students. As I was converting my overseas licence, I had already a bit of experience on the road. Eugene quickly pick up on my bad and good habits while I was driving, and he manage to correct my driving skills very quickly in the first two hours lesson. He also knows well the different possible routes taken during the driving test and gave me some very useful tips that I used during my test. I also recommend booking the car with Ample for the test & the extra hour of driving lesson just before the test. This definitively helped me relax and feel well prepared, I don’t think I would have passed the test without this. Unlike some reviews I read below, there were no undisclosed fees. My first 2-hour lesson was booked and paid via Groupon and the extra 2 hours (1 hour of additional lesson before the test and 1 hours of booking for the car) were booked directly with Eugene. The fees were agreed by sms before booking and Eugene also confirmed verbally after my first lesson. I will definitively recommend Eugene and Ample Driving School as this was above my expectation when I first booked with Groupon.

Fantastic experience: I am a resident of Australia arrived last month, I am only able to drive in NSW Australia on an overseas license for a maximum of three months. Stress of being assessed by the testing officer to get a full license. Replay the practical driving test that I was done few decades ago in my own country. Honestly when I know that over decades establish the bad driving habits, either forgetting to indicate or not doing it for long enough and observation – failing to check mirrors or blind spots. Stop signs also be troublesome, particularly when it comes to stopping before the line. All these causes extreme uncontrollable panic attack, caused me to stress abruptly and my legs to twitch uncontrollably mixed with the past pride of driving license and the tone of correction need to put into the brain to action. Thinking of the test to get my knees rattling and palms sweaty when driving. Through social media network community, I was introduced to Ample Driving School. Blessed to have driving instructor, Eugene. I’m very thankful for him who helped me pass my test on the first go. He is calm, considerate, and encouraging which helped me build my confidence. He is an effective instructor and I highly recommend him. – Eugene is a professional driving instructor can help new or decades experience drivers correct common errors, drive more safely, and boost confidence behind the wheel. Kudos.

Negative experience: Demands 5 star reviews and leaves 5 star reviews for himself. Difficult person, borderline abusive communication skills. Charges and extorts previously undisclosed fees after lesson. No proven success in actually helping students. Eugene spent my lesson defining gravity and cul-de-sac and other irrelevent waffle, leaving little time for productive learning. It felt very much like I had to tolerate him and bear with him , since I already paid and was trying to get any useful information. Charges too much for plausibly no return and hidden fees. Did not come back.

Fantastic experience: Eugene is very kind and patient. Taught me how to drive in a manual car (trust me when I say a lot of patience was needed!) and ensured I was always comfortable.
