Fantastic experience: John Sweeney was excellent with Approved Driving School, being amazingly patient and being honest. Explanations and tips were on point without being too harsh. Gave tips about the VORT test about what to look out for and what can happen, had 5 great lessons with him. Had a good talk about premier league results during the drive although only negative is that he supports Man City. Really appreciate the lessons and would recommend to anyone. High professionalism and boosts your confidence for the VORT. 10/10

Throughout the lesson, he was critical of every move and gave me important tips. My main worry was reverse parallel parking, but he was so patient with my several practices. I passed in my first attempt with 96%!

Fantastic experience: Prior to my experiences with Approved Driving School, I was a rather anxious, overcautious new driver on the roads. Even though I had (have) my lovely and effective mother as my primary mentor, I still needed that extra push to better myself a driver, and Mr. John Sweeney was the perfect choice. When I first met him, his polite and calm disposition made me immediately believe he was the one to further consolidate skills I'd already practised and teach me new things, too. My intuition was proven correct. Throughout the lessons, I'd seen an almost astounding improvement in not only certain areas and skills, but further so my attitude and approach to going on the roads. I even learnt how to reverse parallel park (mostly)! That stuff's still scary... Whilst I have much to learn and improve on, I sincerely believe that John helped me overcome most of my anxieties and concerns with regards to being a safe and responsible driver, and has now made me feel more confident about driving not only myself, but other passengers, to wherever need be. John is mild-mannered and patient, which was exactly the kind of mentor I needed, given my personality traits. He explains concepts and procedures with clarity and in a non-judgemental way. Furthermore, John is always looking on the positive side; even when I screwed up big-time, he was quick to reassure me that I'd done the best I'd could. Additionally, John is a wonderful person, having a good sense of humour and making quick remarks whenever the occasion was appropriate. Our conversations, while small, meant a lot to me and made me feel more comfortable driving (but not distracted!). In short, John did wonders for my driving skills and attitude. I cannot thank him enough for his services. I would highly recommend him to any L-plater who needs a little bit more encouragement and reinforcement with driving skills. :)

John elaborates on the good points of your driving whilst drawing attention to and explaining the details that need improving, in order to pass your driving test. By the end of our lessons I was fully confident with my driving and managed to pass first time, so I would definitely recommend the Approved Driving School.

Fantastic experience: John is a wonderful intructor - patient, professional, experienced. I am a late driver and had been afraid to be in control of a car. John settled my nerves and had me comfortably driving in no time. He had lots of tips and tricks that made driving and parking easy to learn. Using everything John taught me (and lots of practice) I passed my VORT on my first attempt and am now happily on the road. Could not recommend highly enough.
