Fantastic experience: All staff from Courtesy are so friendly and easy to talk to, above all extremely knowledgeable in their fields. The past two days I undertook my HC course with Kamal, the two day course was the first time I had ever driven a truck. Kamal was very thorough in his explanation for everything regarding road craft and truck control. I appreciate his patience with me, allowing me to grow confidence to complete the course. Thank you Kamal and team, I will be recommending Courtesy for anything training related that Courtesy cover and hopefully will be back myself to possibly upgrade to MC.

Negative experience: Passing the HR driving test in an automatic truck means you are qualified to drive HR, be it automatic OR manuall, but when I tried to make enquiries regarding this, they put me on hold or wouldn't return my calls, as they want you to assume a driving license that includes a manual is an extra $$ course. Instructors also cocky. Wouldn't recommend.

Fantastic experience: Nathan was an excellent instructor—knowledgeable, direct, and clear in his feedback. He effectively explained mistakes and corrections, making it easy to understand as a newcomer in a HC class vehicle for the first time. Nathan is a funny guy but don’t let that fool you, he displayed integrity throughout and is not afraid to mark you down on your errors, and constantly got me thinking by throwing me random questions incase government auditors and the like asked them too. Nathan respected my time and was genuinely committed to helping me succeed. Courtesy is the preferred training provider of my work place and I can see why. Cheers!!

Fantastic experience: I completed my HR course with Paul as my instructor & I was completely blown away at the high level of support, patience and care throughout the day. I arrived quite nervous, but Paul was there to greet me with a warm smile and reassure me that I would do great. The day went quickly and by the afternoon I felt so relaxed that driving the HR felt like second nature to me, thanks to Paul’s teaching skills. As a small town country girl I was understandably stressed about the city chaos while trying to drive a truck for the first time, but Paul walked me through every step! We had many laughs, great conversations and suddenly the fear faded away. I cannot thank Paul & the team enough for making this such a memorable experience, my confidence of driving a HR is booming because of this business. You are all amazing! 110% recommend.

Fantastic experience: I can not recommend Courtesy Driving school more than I already do. All the staff here are so kind and so knowledgeable. I was so anxious and nervous of failing my final test, but the lovely admin ladies were quick to reassure me that courtesy isn't here to fail you but to work with you to complete your course. For my HC final, I had the pleasure of meeting and spending 2 fun-filled days with Nathan. He made me feel comfortable and confident during our drives with the amount of work experience and knowledge he had. I knew that he was going to be there every step of the way and have my back. He didn't mind if I would talk to myself or need to play music to ease the nerves because a nervous driver is a dangerous driver. Thank you again to the team and a massive shout out the Nathan for being just so amazing, supportive and honest!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Courtesy driving school, I recently attended for my HR license. The training is very professional but also very enjoyable. I had Nathan and he was an absolute legend, he really knows his profession and he is excellent at explaining everything you need to know in preparation for your final assessment.

Negative experience: Incredibly dissapointed and angry. Do not waste your money and time on a manual Mr licence do the hr auto almost half the time about $400 cheaper and if you pass you can drive a Mr manual licenceanyway what a joke. Absolute rort. Any decent company would give you that option and inform you this before hand $$$$. Pretty much the things I failed on you would effectively pass doing that because it is way easier. Ali I think was the name of my instructor taught me some stuff yes but was hard to understand and made you look like a fool when you were confirming his orders on what to do. He smoked during times we stopped and basically blew smoke into the cab as he was getting back in the cab that really didnt bother me but im sure it would others. His instructions were inconsistent in when he told me what he wanted me to do sometimes it was a long way away sometimes it was close to what he wanted me to do. And not knowing the area at all it was very confusing because your constantly looking for the road, roundabout or lights he was talking about and he would be judging you on that. I accept I wasn't perfect not even close but i believe i was very safe and obeyed every road rule and drove well without being great some of the things he failed me on were very harsh. He then went on saying basically I had failed some parts this was about 2ish I assumed that I could be reassed for them on the day as there was still plenty of time in the day especially after that when he made me do the reverse parallel which I aced. After I aced that he then told me I wasn't going to pass today and basically i had to sit a whole day again pay another $1400 or just go for my auto hr licence for about $1000. Then made me drive back to the office which was 5-10 mins away. He knew I wasn't going to pass on the day why waste my time doing the parralel parking knowing i had to do it all again anyway?and then make me drive back to the office. I thought I wasn't safe enough to have a licence? Very harsh. I bet my instructor does most things I failed on. No common sense. Also he told me about 70% of his students fail he seemed proud of that. That is a terrible % rate isn't it?

Fantastic experience: I did my HR restricted Auto on the Third of this month and the instructor that I had was Tahir And he was extremely knowledge and a really friendly person One of the best instructors I have ever had And he helped me With all the questions I had He was a really nice and professional instructor And with his help and guidance, I passed my HR Restricted license and Casandra And the other ladies from the administration team were amazing so knowledgeable with all the questions I had before I went for it And I highly recommend courtesy driving school to anybody looking for their license They’re absolutely amazing And nice Instructors And I would like to give a big thank you for letting me Do my license through them and I can’t wait until I get to do my HC and I will definitely be going through courtesy driving school

Fantastic experience: Had Auto HR Licence today, staff were all friendly and welcoming and did their best to keep you at ease. Had ‘JD’ as my trainer and assessor, and I can’t speak highly enough of him. Extremely friendly guy, extremely knowledgeable, was happy to have a chat while driving to ease the nerves, and explained everything extremely clearly and drew diagrams to explain complex scenarios. Definitely recommend Courtesy to anyone thinking of getting their truck licence. You won’t regret it :)

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. Completed manual MR license here recently. Great experience with knowledgeable trainer who did a great job getting me up to speed in the short 3hrs training before the vort. Would definitely recommend spending the extra for the full day training before test, would have been much less stressful and more time to work on problem areas.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of having Paul as my trainer today, he was very knowledgeable experienced and super helpful l. The way he explained the task we were going to undertake and the way he talked you through any issues and problems you were showing between drives was very clear and precise (firm but fair). Fantastic experience: Just successfully completed my HR Auto licence through Courtesy Driving School. It was a long day however as long as you listen and take your time it actually goes very quickly. Paul was my instructor and he gave very clear and simple directions that I found easy to understand. He didn’t over complicate things or make it feel overly stressful whilst still conveying all the necessary knowledge to be a competent truck driver.

He was super supportive and trusted my capabilities the entire time, and gave constructive feedback so I was able to rectify and learn from mistakes. Fantastic experience: Great experience with instructor Tom upgrading from HR to MC, thought i was in for a stressful few days but his way of teaching was easy to understand and execute that by the 2nd day I was driving a B-double full of confidence and having a great time. Negative experience: Made to feel like you’re a burden, constant sighs and clicking fingers at you, talked to like you’re a baby- get the run around while out driving, Ali is the culprit, he’s got zero people skills and a tool, recommend stay away from this place , all about money money, if i’d seen that Ali in public god help him, worst training centre by far, trucks are older then me and flogged

I had Paul as an assessor/instructor and he was extremely knowledgeable, had plenty of patience and when it came to the assessments he was fair and gave good feedback. Fantastic experience: Got my HC (TILE) here, I had a rocky start over COVID but my 3rd day with Adam in 2024 was great. You're gonna sweat bullets if you haven't done this stuff before, so expect that. Book the extra day, you'll need it. No dramas though and I have my license.

Fantastic experience: I went through Courtesy to get my LR License, my instructor David was fantastic. He was very patient, knowledgeable, was able to answer all questions, could easily talk me through all drills and procedures, and was a great person to have as an instructor. I definitely recommend Courtesy Driving School. An all round great experience.

Fantastic experience: Going from hr to hc was a daunting experience for me but something I wanted to do. I wasn't going to let my personal struggles get too me and the guys from courtesy seen this and worked with me to pass. Took me 3 lesson to get there but both Tom and David where professionals and got me over the line to succeed.

Fantastic experience: I had completed the Training In Lieu of Experience course (T.I.L.E) that allows you to get your HC learners permit with your C class license (must be held for 2 years) through this group. I had Dave and Adam for the course and they were beyond exceptional. They were both very professional and easy to understand which is critical for anyone wanting to learn both the industry and the fundamentals of driving a big rig. Dave took the time to answers questions thoroughly and made it easy to understand the laws and regulations. I would highly recommend and will be coming back again!

Negative experience: Went here for my HR licence. I had driven a hr class vehicle many times before with L plates attached and a qualified driver next to me, a number of times. My instructor (I think his name was Ali), was incredibly rude to me the whole 6 hour lesson. He made me feel like an idiot for making honest mistakes, and it seemed like I was an inconvenience for even being there, he kept rubbing his face like he didn't want to be there. He gave me instructions on painted islands that contradicted with what my VORT assessor notified me of after my test. This was detrimental to my final score. He was vague on certain road rules, and did not once correct me on other during my lesson, which affected my score. I began the vort test with almost no confidence as I felt humiliated and incompetent after my lesson. During six hours, I believe I could have been taught better . I spoke to a higher up at my company who is responsible for VOC's and truck licences. He told me that courtesy often guides people to failure on their first attempt so they come back to book another lesson, which is quite pricey, compared to CBT programs and other VORT based programs. Another thing worth mentioning: the truck was incredibly old. The truck was probably pre 80's, was obviously a covert to automatic, and the gear selecting buttons were faulty, which led to me staying in neutral after a very distinctive button press for drive. My instructor made fun of me for this. The tyres were very much on the borderline of being unroadworthy, and the check engine light constantly flashed during my whole session. The fuel gauge was broken as well. I was incredibly upset after my experience here, I felt humiliated, insulted, and ripped off. I will not be coming back here, and I will warn other people from booing here.

Negative experience: My partner recently went to courtesy driving school to do his HR license. First time failed for going to slow between parked cars and second for revving to high and crunching the gears ONCE ! this place is an absolute joke and we will not be back. Also paid 800 for the second attempt which is meant to be 3 hours practice and then a hour for the test. Only did an hour practice then the test. All about money in my eyes.

Negative experience: Providing not full information when signing in. MR are only on manual and if you fail the test, you will pay again full price. Do not trust that retesting is possible for smaller payment, this will be 1300aud again. My advice is better to choose another school. If you haven't practiced a lot on manual before test, no chance you pass MR here. There is not the training, you pay 1300 for the test itself.

Negative experience: After trying multiple companies to book in for my HR auto that never retuned my calls. Courtesy seemed professional and I was able to book the course in. However on the day the experience was the total opposite. The truck was probably 40 years old and I very much doubt would pass any sort of roadworthy. It had shifter buttons rather then a proper shifter. That at times I had to press probably 30 times for it to change into the required gear becauseof how badly they were broken, low gear decent only worked in 1st gear so we had to go down an 80kmph hill at 20, every time we went up hill a check engine light came on and at random times during the drive. A transmission error also frequently poped up during the drive and the instructor wasn't really interested in it. When we went over a rough patch of road the steering wheel came loose from its position and ended up in my lap. The sun visors were missing and although we didn't need them on the day their a required part of the vehicle that I'm sure is still required to be there. When I was on my lunch break there were 2 other students both back for a second try as they weren't able to complete their course in the first instance and one of them joked that no one passes here the first time. At the time I didn't think anything of it. But my experience was exactly the same. The instructor wasn't at all clear on the details of exactly what he wanted for the continual mirror checks until the end which was totally un helpful. Looking at the mirrors wasn't enough turning my head towards them a little bit while still focusing on the road was also not what he was looking for. And although I technically didn't do anything wrong and should have passed. He failed my assessment due to me suposidly checking mirrors and told me I'd have to book another session that would end up being with him for 4 hours and try again. Total waste of $1500 I feel I would have got a much better experience if the truck had been properly maintained and functional and if the instructor 1 was upfront clear about what he wanted for mirror checks and 2 if he'd used our last 40 or so mins to re do the assessment rather than wasting time on the way back to the yard re doing a bunch of things I was already competent in. It made me feel like in the end it was a deliberate shot to get more cash for a second time round for a technicallity on whether or not I was looking at the mirrors every time I said I was.

Negative experience: I would be very wary, of this driving school, they took over $3000 from me and still said i needed more training, by this time i no confidence at all. I went to another driving school and passed 1st day, the truck was a lot nicer to drive and the atmosphere was a lot more relaxed

Fantastic experience: Had Ben as my instructor going from C class to HC Ben was very professional, punctual and easy to talk to. Very clear with instructions and any feedback he had towards my driving! Would definitely recommend and will be back again!

Negative experience: Very disappointed with Courtesy ,for one the truck that was used for the training was very difficult to change into third gear ,the trainer was quite rude and unhelpful ,there was one particular occasion where I didn't look at the mirror when turning and the "trainer" proceeded to knock on the window ,surely a verbal reminder would be enough.Also we had to drive 10 minutes to get some fuel and then on the way back had to wait another 20 minutes for a freight train to pass .I passed most of the test but ran out of time so basically threw away $1200 .

Negative experience: After paying $3000 for our new employee to get his HC license, he completed 2 days of driving and was not passed. From looking at his assessment sheet, it appears that everything was done satisfactorily. Was then told another 6 hours was needed @ another $1000. And a wait of approximately 2 months. This would have given us a loss in our business of nearly $100,000.. They were very unhelpful, not willing to squeeze him in even when I offered more money. Was told that they are flat out just trying to get through their driver backlog.. Not that busy, they don’t open on weekends!!!!.. I would not recommend this company at all, very different when I did my own license under the previous owner.. Have found some where else to send our bloke much more helpful..

Negative experience: Absolute joke, I recently went for my hc licence, only for the instructor to be on his phone, take continuous breaks and be in a mood, on both days I had to finish early and have had nothing ticked off on the 2nd day. I will be taking this further as the lack of professionalism is not good enough. I would steer clear from these guys, all just money making

Negative experience: Hlo, few week ago I booked driving test for someone, at that time 3 people were with me, they are the victims. I called to the courtesy driving school for test booking in port Augusta. She deduct my payment and on the test date she told me that I booked for Adeliade, how come?? You guys made mistake, it’s so far I am not mad that I booked the test so far, at the end I request for refund they start shouting on me, this is ridicules. She is so annoying. Even she doesn’t know how to talk. Over the phone I didn’t say Adelaide, not even a single time.

Negative experience: Management is totally poor they don’t now how to speak politely few weeks ago I booked my test port Augusta over the phone I told them three time that I want to give my test at port Augusta and they deducted my deposit. On the test day I went port Augusta to give my test I call them they told me that you booked your test at Adelaide this is so stupid Adelaide is five hours drive form my location this is so annoying I asked for refund and they give didn’t give me any money o request to here for refund over the phone and she shouting on me this is so stupid i was so polite with her she didn’t listened to me

Fantastic experience: I recently upgraded my MR to HC with Courtesy driving school in kadina on the 19th and 20th of January. I was extremely happy with the training from start to finish. I learnt how to drive an 18 speed RR in 2 days and I passed having never driven one previously. My instructor Ben Underwood was a really great instructor he was very knowledgeable and patient and just an all round great guy. I learnt alot from him over my 2 days and I would recommend Courtesy to anyone wanting to get a truck license. 10/10

Negative experience: Had a terrible experience with these guys, the truck was old & European, everything was on the wrong side, the trainer was terrible, shattered my confidence & was really rude about my driving, he micro managed my driving to the point where I wasn’t sure what to expect from him & I was trying to do what I thought he wanted me to do, whatever I did was wrong. Said it would probably take 2 more days for me to finish at $1200 a day (seemed like a $$ grab). I was so upset about the experience I considered not finishing my licence. I ended up going with Truck Licence SA, I was so nervous at first but was assured after the first hour if I couldn’t drive we wouldn’t be this far in. I work in the mines & recommend everyone that is considering getting their licence not to go with this company. Before I left a bad review, I wanted to make sure it was the company & not me first, as I don’t give bad feedback lightly. I did let the owner know of my experience & he didn’t seem to care. I completed my license with the other company & recommend them to everyone.

Negative experience: The drivers are not taught road courtesy, trucks traveling slowly should be taught to move over so cars can pass them safely. This should be a feature of training for good road manners towards all road users. It will breed a whole new generation of discourteous truck drivers causing dangerous driving. Please change your teaching methods

Negative experience: I would not reccomend Courtesy for a number of reasons. Truck I drove was old and hard to change gears in, clutch was heavy. Different instructor to assessor which didn't help. I didnt feel particularly welcome at the facility. Assessor was belittling and unhelpful. Have since completed my MR with another company which was a much more positive experience. I gave an extra star for fitting me in earlier that expected.

Fantastic experience: I found Courtesy professional and friendly. My instructor, Adam, was outstanding in my opinion. He didn't go easy on me and I learnt a lot. I found Adam never lost his cool with me and everything was explained in just the right amount of detail. And a nice, almost new, Mercedes prime mover was a treat too. Give them a go.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant driving school great with communication awesome people skills Rob I would recommend for a test as he is really helpful and truly shows care for his learners Rebecca is also great she took me out for a arvo session and helped me find other ways to remember what I needed to do threw out my drive

Negative experience: My advice to all people is that these people are totally money minded and receptionist is too rude she even donot know how to deal with clients. Even these people does not deserve even single star. please donot waste your time and money by going in this school.

Fantastic experience: I had Rob today who really spent the time to re-communicate the things I seemed to have missed. This helped me heaps as it allowed me to learn successfully and pass the test. Very happy with Rob.

Fantastic experience: I went to Courtesy for my car to HC licence undertaking the HC TILE course and HC training and assessment. Paul and Adam were both very knowledgable trainers and Adam was very helpful when driving and assessing my drives.

Fantastic experience: Professional and friendly staff. My instructor was a hard ball but friendly, exactly the type of person you’d want preparing new truck drivers for the road. Overall my experience was great and walked out with my upgraded licence.

Positive experience: Trainer was very helpful and knowledgeable. I enjoyed his instruction. Facilities quite basic but truck was good to drive.

Fantastic experience: Rob was a very patient and knowledgeable instructor. His communication whilst behind the wheel was always clear and the driving techniques he used were useful. Rob's experience was very appreciated as he was easily able to answer any technical questions I might have had, whether it be regarding road rules or internal mechanics of the vehicle.

Fantastic experience: Rob was very professional and patient. He explained everything and was easy to interact with. Highly recommend this instructor. Unfortunately on the first drive there were some issues with the truck. It had to be taken to the mechanics to be repaired. After it was repaired, no more issues arose and the truck was easy to drive.
