Negative experience: If you are a woman or a foreigner be ready to fail if your instructor is Gary… Could you imagine being both… I have already wrote twice to the company to raise this serious issue but unfortunately…had no answer. This is very unfortunate as I think my money is worth the same as the “Aussie blokes”one.

Fantastic experience: Had A Great Learning experience and everything was clearly explained from the start. Dave my trainer was really helpful and explained everything to me and got me the knowledge on the HR license and the driving requirements. Would recommend this place highly and Dave as a trainer was superb.

Negative experience: They are running scam. I paid $1300 and now I move different state and I ask for a fun Policy and they saying we can’t pay anything and do you believe they just train me three hours and they take $1300 before you going there you think 10 timesand don’t lose your money

Fantastic experience: I recently did my HR synchro license test and training with Yugo. I cannot praise my instructor Rob highly enough. Not only was he very fair and patient but he was also a very great bloke who cares about making the truck drivers a safer and better drivers on the roads. He taught me a lot and I will apply all the knowledge to my truck driving journey. I really appreciate that at yugo there is a very sufficient amount of practice driving one on one so that the learning experience is very thorough and aims to make heavy vehicle drivers to be professional and more responsible. The trucks at Yugo are all very new, safe and clean. Have already recommended Yugo driving school to several people who are aiming to get their truck licenses as well. Massive thanks to the whole team including Nicolina who did the admin side of things when I got my HR license at Yugo :) I'll see you all again for my HC training later on!

Fantastic experience: I enrolled myself for Non-Synchromesh Heavy Rigid Licence which I successfully completed the course. I had a great experience during the course, I had Brett on the first day and Dave on the second day which both were Super knowledge and patience, they gave me proper instructions during the lesson. Also The office staff were professional, very friendly and helpful. A big thanks to my instructors Brett and Dave. Fantastic experience: After a lot of research, reading review after review, I choose Yugo driving school because of their high ratings and also their shorter waiting times, which I later found was a result of their large licensing fleet and high number of instructor’s/employees - employed at Yugo driving school. I believe it was less then a week between making the initial phone call to commencement of the two day training and licensing for the non-synchromesh HC. I had held my synchromesh HR licence for about 8/10 years. My TRAINER, and assesser for this feat was Jack. I highlighted trainer because Jack really had his hands full, trying to get me up to scratch with driving my first prime mover and trailer combination, and onto top of that, me with very little experience with a non - synchromesh gearbox. (I was thinking this was going to be an interesting feat, and I mean feat, but more so for Jack, then I, I believed anyway. The knowledge test, I was pretty confident with. As I was 100% in control of and I could do as much revision as I felt I needed/required. Where as the gearbox/big trailer thing, I knew as much as I knew up until that exact moment in my life, which wasn’t as much as I thought. “Though I could only get better” The one thing I had going for me wasn’t luck, it was a bloke from Holland called Jack. I had never meet Jack before, but during the 2 day/12 hour’s of training and testing, we learnt a few things about each other, I learnt how to safely and professionally drive a 18 speed Heavy combination prime mover, and a few life lessons and facts about my new acquaintance Jack, and he learnt how to get the best out of me, with me panicking and the ship hitting the fan, resulting in me losing my confidence. We had some laughs and I teared up as I walking away from this 2 day intensive training with my open HC truck licence!. Jack not only trained me in the fundamentals operating a heavy vehicle but also counseled and coached me to a highly safe and confident standard. Jack was a very professional and informative instructor. His training style was very adaptable to my training requirements, with the common goal of me gaining my HC licence. I would highly recommend Jack and everyone at Yugo driving school, their sales and service are second to none. A very professional and friendly team

Fantastic experience: I did the MR test for 2 times bcs I didnt pass the first driving test. I came again for the second test. They introduced me to a new instructor. Fantastic experience: I have completed a forklift course at another company and although passing, was not confident on a forklift due to a lack of exposure. I was enrolled in a MR course by my employer at Yugo, and did not know what to expect. I received course materials in plenty of time to study for the vic roads theory assessment which i passed well. Met my initial instructor Jack, who possessed significant knowledge and interpersonal skills. This assisted my confidence to learn reversing for the assessment. David O’Rafferty then took me for my assessment, very thorough with explanations, expectations & course content. Plenty of time on the road getting confident on the MR, and when ready for assessment under assessment conditions, all is recorded to ensure the integrity of the assessment to ensure only the correct applicant’s can pass this course ensuring the safety of the individual and all road users. I have confidence as a cert iv qualified assessor myself that no dangerous drivers are passed. Great course, exceptional staff.

Fantastic experience: An excellent business to acquire your license through. Their fleet of vehicles is modern and clean and their facilities are the same. My instructor for my HC license, Pete G, was extremely professional throughout the lesson and the friendly conversation and banter made the entire process much more relaxed and comfortable. If you're looking to acquire any heavy vehicle license, I highly recommend Yugo. PS. Looking through the other reviews posted there is an obvious pattern with those individuals leaving negative reviews, they failed. It is Yugo's legal responsibility to ensure that every person that leaves their business with a new license is competent. If you failed, cop it on the chin like an adult, come back and try again. I failed my HR license initially through Yugo, and I should have. I made a mistake. So take those negative reviews with a grain of salt.

Fantastic experience: I attained a HR non synchro licence at Yugo's. The whole process was run smoothly. The office staff were helpful and the booking process was straightforward. The first day was primarily on road training with Ricky in a variety of driving conditions. The next morning was more on road training and the road test. Ricky had a lot of experience driving trucks and plenty of tips and tricks. I would go to Yugo's again if I plan to upgrade.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to Peter and the team at Yugo driving school. Very welcoming and helpful. I did a 3 day course for a high risk license and passed. The reason for this is because I had a great trainer. Peter from the get go made is very clear on the end goal. There is alot to learn and take in on the 3 day course but Peter go's though the work book and tells you what he is looking for. The way the information is delivered is very good. It's easy to understand the information given because of the way its been explained. Peter is one of the best trainers I have ever had..

Fantastic experience: I completed my non syncro HR late 2023 with david (ex military) David was/is a fantastic instructor - giving direct and necessary training and instruction as needed. David, i reckon, had an uphill battle as I'd never driven a truck prior - let alone double clutching. David and I, eventually overcame procedural hurdles and came out with a positive outcome. I struggled with down shifting and rev matching, and far too many attempts at stabbing the gear ⚙️ , running out of time to successfully make the downshift correctly was an issue for me as well. On the second day, I really started to enjoy driving the truck, having this outcome was a major morale boost for what was an awful year - closing a business and loosing a child. Thankyou yugo! AND DAVID!

Negative experience: I won't deny I could have done better during the training of the non-syncro HC which was much harder than I expected. With that being said, I had a harsh instructor (Brett Scott) in my opinion and got failed for going 53 in a 50 zone prior to the sign. If I went past the sign and kept doing it, I wouldn't be writing this review. He told me numerous times that he will fail me for going too slow, and then failed me for going 3 over prior to the sign while I'm incessantly checking my mirrors because he kept saying I wasn't when I was. Also, making a big deal about having to hold the indicator down instead of letting it unclick itself after my turn is a bit much.

Fantastic experience: Brett Scott trained me to reverse a b-double truck for my MC licence. I believe that he believed in me, that by listening to his instructions & concentrating to keep the prime mover & trailers as straight as possible by watching the prime mover guards & the b-trailer & understanding how to successfully correct the direction of the trailers to maintain the rig in correct alignment for a successful reverse operation. Reversing a b-double in a straight line is not an option, it is a requirement of the job. Thanks to Brett, I can now move forward in my trucking career. Also, I would like to thank Jack for his training out on the road & Gordana for her office skills.

Fantastic experience: Last week I called Yugo Driving School and booked myself and work Colleague in to sit for our MC license. I then met a lady at the front counter, called Sarah when we went in to do our theory test, she was very welcoming and such a nice person Made the office side of it very easy and explained everything. Then came the full day training and testing with Brett Scott I could not have asked for a better instructor. He made everything so clear and made the whole experience fantastic. After a while I felt comfortable and confident with the assistance of Jack & Guy giving me feedback here and there and what I needed to improve on. Also I can’t forget to not mention how great the office staff were, they managed to squeeze me in on short notice and also had better customer experience compared to other schools. I still haven’t even heard back from the other schools after enquiring, so yes I will be back! Thanks again Jack & Guy! :)

Fantastic experience: All the staff are friendly and helpful. Never driven a truck before, but Guy was experienced and a great instructor/ teacher! He was patient and guided me well, and I passed my HR test :)

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience doing the Medium Rigid course with Yugo Driving School. Ricky was my driving instructor and he was fantastic. He was very clear with his communication, gave constructive feedback and made me feel comfortable. I got lots of on-road practice and felt well prepared for the assessment. Highly recommend!

He is an amazing driving instructor, all instructions were so clear and helpful- I learnt so much from him which made me feel so much more confident before doing the test. Fantastic experience: I just got my HR licence. My instructor was Tim and I could not have asked for a better instructor to get this licence. I rocked up quite anxious and by the end of the day I was extremely relaxed thanks to him. Tim was extremely clear and concise about all the aspects I didn't understand and made it easy to grasp because of his delivery of instructions and added sense of humour. It made situations much easier to deal with when learning in an 18 tonne truck. I highly recommend if you want to get your truck licence at Yugo ask to have Tim if possible. Great staff also the girls at the front desk were very helpful.

Fantastic experience: Overall has been a pleasant experience for me my first encounter with YUGO. The premises is clean, organised, lively. Good vibes. Appreciate the girls at the reception for being friendly courteous taking time to explain stuff etc. A BIG LOUD shout out to Adrian my instructor who taught me all the techniques sharing his knowledge with me first half of the day. Fantastic experience: Totally recommend - Fantastic place to do your Nation Heavy Vehicle Licence Assessment. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The driving instructors (Harish & Sandeep, I had) got me driving with ease in no time ready to be tested for my licence, which I happened to pass. "thanks so much guys"

Negative experience: Yugo is very pathetic for customer service and they are very export into being rude. They charged me for no synchronized license and I ended up by getting an auto. I have been told that if I move from no synchronized to auto but then after I clear my test, they say no refund. This is basically kind of cheating and fraud. Anyway keep that money with you and hopefully you can build a good future with that free money. Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Hi , I have done my HC ticket with my trainer DAVID on Saturday was great . He explained everything nice loud and clear Professionally. Learnt lot about driving skills with him .which I never knew before.

Fantastic experience: Got my HR license. Left my first lesson feeling overwhelmed and deflated so my recommendation is don’t let your head get to you. Your trainer can be tough but you need to be aware you only have a limited amount of time to learn how to drive a large heavy vehicle to pass your test, it’s not a personal attack. Come back if you need to. And let your trainer know when you are brain fried, no point trying to learn when you’re already mentally saturated/fatigued. I came back on a Saturday(little more expensive but worth it if you’re completely inexperienced like me) when the traffic is quieter and a more relaxed learning/testing environment. Stefan is a great trainer. Do recommend this driving school.

Fantastic experience: Despite coming up short in my assessments for my MR license twice and feeling at my lowest following the first two attempts, if it wasn't for the guidance and encouragement of instructor Stacee, I would not have gained the confidence and knowledge to pass my test, and most importantly the will to not throw in the towel due to her feedback and encouragement. She is bloody excellent, I can't wish her anything short of the best in life for her for the future. I need to also make a special mention and express my gratitude to both instructors Gary and Ricky who handled my training and assessment in my first attempt. Despite my failure , I would not have gained what I know now from those experiences, while it was rough to handle the failure, their knowledge and feedback was crucial for what I had to learn in order to finally pass on my third try with Stacee. Fantastic experience: Go to YUGOS! Don’t go to TDT training! Both the trainers and office girls at Yugos are absolutely top notch! A very professional & friendly experience, both from the trainers & office staff. There’s no egos or salty attitudes from anyone, my trainer, Guy, was super encouraging & made an effort to make me feel relaxed yet safely in control whilst doing my HC non-synchro. I suspect all the other trainers are of such high calibre just from seeing how fellow students were treated! A very well run driving school, no matter where you’re based (I’m 2 hours from melb) just go with these guys! No regrets! Will be returning for my MC!
