Ascent Training Services: Reviews
Fantastic experience: through this i got 20 hours and became a safer and better driver
Fantastic experience: great environment and trainers
Fantastic experience: great trainers and gained lots of knowledge of being a safer driver! recommended
Fantastic experience: My daughter did her Safer Drivers Course with Ascent and they were second to none. They were informative and encouraging which is so important at this crucial time for studying and obtaining her licence. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: really enjoyed my safer drivers course with Ascent Driver Training! Such nice trainers and gained a lot of knowledge
Positive experience: My teenager attended this training in the back of a hotel. Module 1 provided an overview of safe driving. The module 2 was shared driving for two hours with an instructor (from 5th Gear Driving) that provided no feedback on driving skills (advised it was not his role to do that) and limited detail on safe driving. Perhaps another organisation would be better equipped.
Thank you for your review. Your feedback is important to us. We'd like to take the opportunity to explain that module 2 of the NSW Safer Driver Course is not a driving lesson, it is a coaching session. TfNSW wants instructors to encourage the learner drivers in the vehicle to support each other, provide feedback to each other and for the instructor to be encouraging the learners to reflect on how they feel they went with each task, instead of giving straight feedback. The module builds on the concept of low risk driving techniques, specifically keeping sufficient space, managing speed in different situations and managing space. The module does not look at their other driving skills, which is why learners need to have at least 50 hours of logbook practice, before they are permitted to do the course, so they have a pretty good standard of vehicle control. Coaching is a very effective educational tool where the learner is given control of analysing themselves under the guidance of an expert. Should you wish to discuss this further, please do give us a call. Once again thank you for your feedback. The Ascent Training Services Team
