Fantastic experience: Carl’s experience in Gungahlin is very good because he knows all of the driving test areas, like the roads where the examiner may take. I passed my test today, because we have a 2hr lesson before the test and then the route we did was very familiar to the examiner’s route

Negative experience: ⚠️ Warning ⚠️ Don't take his 5 star rating at face value. Believe it or not, It's a sham! During my few sessions with him, Carl has demonstrated a lack of professionalism as well as questionable driving skills. He made me perform U- turns in places where U turns were not permitted or 3 point turns in places where it is literally impossible to do without increasing the number of turns. He stalled for time when it came to signing my logbook and made extra effort to strip me of my confidence when he realised I was a proficient driver who didn't need many lessons (I took the learner's license because I had an international license that had longsince expired but had obviously retained my driving skills). Carl will try to charge you for any lesson cancellations regardless of the length of the notice period provided and will have the audacity to spam you relentlessly with payment reminders for cancelled lessons you didn't take!! Throughout the lessons, he was needlessly uncourteous and would demand payment whilst supervising me performing the transaction in his car!! As if to suggest I was a fraud. Overall, Carl is not only rude and exploitative but also an instructor with questionable driving knowledge and skills and I strongly feel he needs to be investigated. Y'all have been warned ⚠️

Regarding the driving exercises, I tailor the training to meet both legal requirements and individual needs, ensuring that students are fully prepared for all driving situations. I always explain the reasoning behind specific maneuvers and encourage students to ask questions if they're unclear about any part of the lesson. I also apologize if you feel discomfort to make payment in the car, that’s really the nature of a small business, I’m not affordable to hire a accountant or receptionist to issue a invoice or chase payment after every lesson, so we have to finalise the payment in the car after lesson. Really appreciate you and also any future customer will understand. About the cancellation fee, I may have to clarify here because I believe a lot of other customers will read your feedback later. You messaged me at 06:54 on 22/06/2024 morning to cancel a 08:30 lesson on the same day, its only 1 and half hour before the lesson, in that case I should charge you late cancellation based on our terms and condition. Clients receive reminder email and text message while you book the lesson and few days before the lesson about our cancellation policy. Yes, I did send you an invoice through the booking system, but you haven't paid yet after 6 months. When you keep saying I'm rude and unprofessional, I didn't keep chasing you for payment. I don't know why after 6 months, suddenly you will come back to leave me a feedback, hopefully you are fine. While I understand that learning to drive can sometimes be a stressful experience, I appreciate constructive feedback as it helps me improve my services. If you would like to discuss this matter further, I’d be happy to do so privately to ensure that all concerns are addressed appropriately.

Fantastic experience: Had a class with carl before taking my one off overseas license conversion test. Carl pointed me a couple of mistakes (serious mistakes), and showed me some places where usually examiner prefer to go. In my real exam examinator asked me drive 2/3 of exact locations.
