Six Star Disabled Driver Training: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Kay was awesome dealing with my autistic son. She helped him get his license after about 6 months of lessons. She was flexible when he needed to change times and able to pick him up from different locations for his lessons. Six star also assisted us to get the reports we needed to use his NDIS funding. He is now more independent and confident and I am less stressed knowing he knows how to drive. My son wouldn’t have his license without 6stars help.
Negative experience: Today 24/5/24 we had a close call with your instructor with a learner at 4.01pm. Mandurah Rd between Paganoni and Singleton heading south bound. Upon checking my dash camera it shows the learner indicate while I am very close to the left rear of your vehicle. As I get closer the driver suddenly moves over to the left lane causing me to swerve and lean on the horn. This was far too close to us being involved in a near collision. As an instructor you’re supposed to supervising your learner and making sure they don’t cause an accident. In this case it was my actions that stopped us from being hit by your learner driver on the right front side. Here’s photos to prove that this was far too close for both of us.
Negative experience: Not happy at all No consistency with regular lessons at least once a week, my son often went without a lesson for 2-3 months!!!! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!! SIX star also lacks communication I'm really missed off and I will be complaining to my son's NDIS provider.
Fantastic experience: Six Star DDS was fantastic in taking an anxious driver to (almost) perfecting their PDA. Kay's experience and skills are amazing - she even arrived to assist after my PDA to assist me in parking larger vehicles.
Thanks Omar. 'Happy to help'
Negative experience: The office staff do not listen to the needs of their clients (disabilities) and complete cut ties when you call them out the instructor was so sweet . Office staff need to be trained in disabilities routine and choice and control do not recommend whatsoever ever .happy to take the money.but not provide what the client needs or hear the clients . We also have never used another company at all ! And never bullied anyone the staff were explained that a routine is needed and not once was that listened too .my son didn't achieve his goals because u didn't listen to his needs .that's what everyone was upset about .the fact no one listened emails and things like that hmmm asking where your staff were and why ect ect .the fact is that a you have lied saying we were with another provider right there is a concern .you are and and still happen to be the only driving school with in the catchment .
The Office Manager is one of the most empathetic people I’ve ever met! We took no money unless a service was provided! We were not called out, we stopped dealing with you, Kelly, because you are a bully! We have the text messages and emails to prove that! The reason your son will not achieve his goals is because of your behaviour! Talk about cutting ties. At least we told you it might be best to find another Provider, which is more than you did to your last Service Provider. We had to tell them you were now working through another agency. So, stop pointing fingers and look to your own behaviour! I will not tread softly with a Bully and will not cowtow to this political correctness BS that let’s people like you treat people like us the way you did!
Fantastic experience: Six Star Disabled Driver Training provides an exceptional service and I am so lucky to have been sent to them. Due to a work injury I have not be able to drive for about 2 years due to anxiety, depression, Chronic pain, surgery and a lack of neck motion and cannot thank Natasha Brophy (Office Manager) and Kay Johnston (Owner/Instructor) enough for being absolutely amazing every step of the way. Natasha and Kay are so patient, caring, helpful, understanding and totally go out of there way to help people. Due to Natasha and Kay’s extensive experience in dealing with people with disabilities they know exactly what is required, whether learning new ways of driving, car modifications or a friendly chat to calm the anxiety. Thank you so very much for your help and support Natasha and Kay I strongly recommend Six Star Disabled Driver Training
Thanks so much for your review! We were only too happy to be able to have helped you get back to driving. It’s been a pleasure.
Fantastic experience: My daughter has a disability that prohibits our family from taking her on driving lessons and teaching her in our own cars. She has gained experience and confidence driving with Six Star. Each lesson she comes away excited that she is able to participate in driving lessons and is confident with the help of Six Star that she will gain her licence. Her progress has been quite amazing mastering all the modifications while at the same time conquering her anxiety of driving along side abled bodied people. I thank you for taking care of her and teaching her the skills to move forward on her own.
Thanks Brett! She is an absolute delight to work with and credit to you and Andrea for your support. Again thanks for the review!
