Hi, I’m Jared Potter, a local Qualified driving instructor based in Woody Point, QLD, and serving the areas around it including the Redcliffe, Caboolture, Pine Rivers, and Northern Brisbane areas under my business Pottsy’s Driving School. I have over 10 years of experience in instructing and supervising learner drivers in Queensland, am Blue Card certified to work with children, and consider myself to be a driving enthusiast.

Fantastic experience: Jared is a great driving instructor. Flexible with hours, and always encourages me to get a new lesson booked as I am a major procrastinator. He's accommodating with my university and work commitments, and is always able to start and finish at locations that suit me. He is a patient teacher, and doesn't get upset when you make a mistake, which makes learning to drive a positive and relaxing experience. He is not aggressive and definitely not a liar like some reviews have commented.
Fantastic experience: Great experience driving with this bloke, his lessons helped me pass the test. Couldn’t recommend anyone better.
Negative experience: We booked lessons a month in advanced and then because we wouldn't pull our son out of school for a lesson he became rude and aggressive. He even phoned my son and told him to make his own decisions about leaving school and got aggressive when he said he couldn't. He is also a liar looking at his response to this review!! He rang me at 3:30 the day before the lesson to change it to either 11am or 12pm when my son doesn't finish school until 1pm which is why we booked the dates and times a month in advance so we could get the timeslot.
I am writing in response to this review from Paul. I completed 2 lessons with his son on 2 different days in April, at the end of each lesson; I made a time during that same week or the next week for his next lesson. Paul then contacted me to cancel that lesson time and move it to when he wanted. I found him to be quite inflexible when trying to make a lesson time for his son that was suitable for both of us. I Have 2 vehicles on the road for driving lessons. One Manual and One Automatic and I have a lot of Learner drivers to make lesson times for.I found it difficult to discuss avaliabilty with scheduling around school, sport and other obligations with this Learner and his father. I was not aggressive with his son, it was just that his lesson time clashed with another and I made 3 different suggestions of different times for a lesson. One of these just 1 hour earlier than their requested time for a lesson. Paul then requested to cancel the remain lessons and asked for a refund on the thursday which I processed his refund on the next day, Friday and he still wrote this review. Some people are just never satisifed. I wish you Paul and your son all the best in the future and I hope his upcoming driving test goes well.
Fantastic experience: What a guy!!! Would recommend Pottsy to anyone going for their licence. I did mine in a manual and he was patient, knowledgeable and will you put you at complete ease! Cheers mate, couldn't of done it without you!

Hi Baylen Thankyou for your review. In response, Your Aunty purchased the $ 150 Starter Special for 3 hours which is completed in two 90 minute lessons: of which you did the 1st 90 minute lesson on Wednesday, 31/8/2022. I organised the second 90 minute lesson on Thursday the 8/9/22 which you cancelled 2 days later. I then offered a lesson time on Tuesday 6/9/22 at 1pm which you did not accept. I then tried to contact you on at least 3 different days to organise your second lesson without any response from you. Then after not hearing at all from you for 5 weeks you sent me 5 text messages on 12/10/22, to either do the 2nd 90 minute lesson, and then demanding a refund. I explained my refund policy that the starter special is that price on the condition that the package is completed. If any learner asks for a refund the completed lessons will be charged at the full 90 minute price. So $ 150 - $ 99 with the difference being your refund. I explained this via text & offered a lesson time on that day and you didn't do the lesson instead choosing a refund. And now you & Helena Schuttloffel, your family members complain ?? Regarding your other points, I have not being at all aggressive, I strive to keep my vehicles washed & vaccum cleaned. This can a challenge at times as I am always busy working. The 1 phone call was from my 7 year old daughter. Which I kept that phone call to a minimum. As a good will gesture, I would like to offer you a free 90 minute lesson in my Manual Mitsubishi Lancer, This is a $ 105 value. Thank you, Kind Regards, Jared, Pottsys Driving School.

Fantastic experience: So where do I start!! My daughter had over 40hrs with another driving school and went for her license and failed. I met Pottsys Driving School teacher Jared the day she failed and his student passed. When we were in the transport department I noticed how helpful Jared was to people there including myself and my daughter. So when she failed I contact him and said she’s got 6 weeks before she goes for it again and he was like no worries and was cool as. In those 6 weeks I found Jared to be a very calm, caring, thorough and extremely confident instructor and my daughter and I came to realise how much she didn’t know about the workings of a car and the road rules after previously having over 40hrs with another instructor. So today thanks to Jared at Pottsys driving school she got her P’s, we can’t thank you enough Jared!

Fantastic experience: The best teachers around Redcliffe. I hadn’t driven for a few months and with them I quickly learnt and was refreshed on all my driving skills. Jared was my teacher and with his help I was able to pass a driving test.

Negative experience: Rude! Jared called me all the time when I told him I am an adult with a full time office job that was 8am-5pm so I’ll call him to book a next lesson when I’m available. He kept calling me more so I sent a text saying please stop calling me I will call you back when I can, then Jared’s reply was “Hi Shari I don’t have time to text as a single dad & running my own business. If you a serious about getting your license then you will make driving lessons a very high priority. Ring me when you to book a lesson. Regards Jared. “ What Jared didn’t know was I was barely hanging on financially and health wise. I am serious about my licence however as an adult you book the lessons on your terms because who knows what’s going on in your life and in mine I didn’t have time to complete the last 2 lessons. I asked Jared if I can have a refund of the $100 because he kept calling and calling but then nothing he read my last message on the 2/7/21 with no response. Im am too uncomfortable to go into a car with Jared again that is why I wanted a refund.

Fantastic experience: The instructor has an excellent knowledge of the QLD road rules and the routes that the testers at QLD Transport take and he knows about many of the difficult, surprising and unusual intersections along these routes where lots of learners fail their tests in the Caboolture area. This information was invaluable in helping me to pass my driving test.

Fantastic experience: I went to Jarred with hopes to upgrade my current automatic license from automatic to manual. The entire process was stress free, he was extremely flexible with times and pickup locations to ensure I was well prepared for my test on the day. Negative experience: He was almost always late for bookings, unprofessional, talks too much while you're driving, inappropriate or off topic conversation, doesn't prepare you well for driving test either, ran personal errands during my lessons, answered and talked on his phone a lot too. I went with another driving school and passed my test immediately after. Must've created a new page/setup for his driving school because all the authentic and truthful/negative reviews are all gone. Do yourself a favour and please, I repeat please don't waste your time or money with this school like I did. It'll save you a lot pain and frustration too. You'll learn how to drive safer, quicker and be more prepared for your test elsewhere and you'll obtain your driver's licence quicker elsewhere too. You're welcome.

Fantastic experience: I had learned under Jared's careful instruction over the course of two years, with the majority of my 100 hours of logged driving on a Learner's licence consisting of paid lessons with him, since I could not find anyone else with the time (or willingness) to drive with me for this period, after which I successfully completed the practical test with very few errors. Jared teaches with calmness and abundant patience, but with a constant alertness and focus on safety. He understands the importance of explaining the logic behind the road rules to new drivers, and the importance of ensuring that any errors you make - be they in judgement or technique - are promptly examined and understood, so that you know exactly where you went wrong and what to do to correct it, even if it takes a little non-driving time to do so - quality over quantity. Jared has a comprehensive knowledge of how to execute all the tested maneuvers, and explains them in an easy-to-remember step-by-step manner. He also has a deep knowledge of the local testing routes and of the various tricks testers like to use on test day. Finally, Jared is friendly, understanding, and cares deeply about the success of his driving students. I highly recommend Pottsy's Driving School, especially to new drivers, and even to anyone simply looking for an edge on test day.
