Fantastic experience: I have recently concluded getting my heavy rigid license through Barclays and cannot be happier with the outcome. They are an absolutely fantastic driving school full of very helpful instructors who make it as easy and straightforward as possible to get your license as long as you do the work and listen to what they say. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing the specific licenses that they offer. You won’t go wrong. Very friendly staff, and I really appreciated having Alex as my instructor, as well as Nick in the main office who offered me plenty of support.

Fantastic experience: I recently got my heavy rigid truck licence with Barklyls on Tuesday the 22nd I can say that without a doubt they are the loveliest people very accomodating professional and patient specially for those who don’t have a tonne of experience in a truck like myself they made it very comfortable and explained things well Thanks to Steve my instructor and the rest of the team at Barklys highly recommend to anyone wanting to sit their light, medium, heavy, and combination test etc

Negative experience: About 5-6 years ago had a driving lesson with an old man. He would teach me properly and just let me drive anywhere including the highway. He wouldn’t train me to go near the VIC ROADS driving route. He’d talk about more of who i am and what he did back in his days. He would also ask me if i am australian citizen. He would also say there’s dual citizenship, so how is this relevant to driving test? I felt like it was very unprofessional. I was on my learners. He told me other day a girl complained him teaching to him, which i’m not sure of. I was maybe about 19-22 when i had lessons with this instructor from Barkley Driving School. I switched to HIENZ driving school, took 5 lessons and I passed my driving test, got my P’s. 5 years later, on my green P’s never had any accident or fines ever. Next year will be getting my full license. So terrible with that driving instructor too, he made me drive in highway and told me to overtake many big trucks. It was driving anywhere and nowhere near driving test roads. Just added revenue and profit for the company.

Fantastic experience: Completed my HR Truck license, My experience dealing with Barkly was awesome! from the office side to my driving instructor Nicholas! Grouse bloke, great deal of knowledge and left feeling a whole lot more confident and with some good useful knowledge. Would definitely recommend to others.

Negative experience: I have done my HC test today and i pass the test . My bad luck that i been tested by the old guy “ DAVID” This guy is very aggressive & has bad behaviour he abused me and stressed me for the whole day. He was screaming at me in situations that doesn’t need that much, i tried to hold my self just to avoid failing or ending up in bad situation. and i asked him to calm down many time. That is not safe for me as student and for everyone on the road. I spoke to them after i finished and asked them to pass it through to the manager. I surprised that there is bad reviews on their website regarding this guy since 3 years and he still doing his job until this day, that mean that the reviews was useless . its a shame for Barkley school that they charge 1700$ for one day test then they treat their student in that disgusting racist way. and big blame on vic road that they certified a racist tester to keep do this job on their behalf. This guy should be stopped immediately.

Negative experience: What a horrible experience I had yesterday with DAVID. I have passed my HR test 2 years ago from BARKLY and i really like their way of working, professionalism and i came back again for HC licence. Their staff working at front was good and professional but the trainer DAVID was the most unprofessional and impatient person i have seen. He was shouting at me all the time while i was driving. He was swearing most of the times. He was just panicking me all the time while driving. Very rude and disrespectful guy. I was listening to all of the instructions but he was just yelling and swearing over every little thing. If you don’t like your job just leave it but don’t yell at people. We come and pay to get the services nobody gave you the right to shout at your customers. Very unprofessional trainer DAVID. if anyone wants to get their licence from here, its my advice to you don’t have DAVID as your trainer. He will ruin your day and will give anxiety to you like he did to me. Barkly school needs to hire some better and professional people. Not recommending anyone to come here now especially to instructor DAVID.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing experience with Barkly. Booked my test in minutes, no hassle. Brock Greenhill is a very professional and calm and collected trainer. He was happy to answer all my questions. He is a man with a lot of knowledge about driving specifically about HC. There was zero level of stress and I enjoyed my drive with him and passed with great ease.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 to both the organisation as well as my instructor and assessor Mario! Booking process was simple with an online form to submit all my details, followed up by a call to confirm details and take deposit payment, all of the admin staff I spoke to were nothing but lovely to me. Really glad I could make the payment in two halves as that definitely helped my cash flow. Mario was great, walked me through everything in the testing procedure, thought me how to pass the test, but most importantly actually taught me how to drive for the real world, not just how to pass the test in the simplest way. Can’t give enough credit to this company and its staff!

Fantastic experience: Back in 2004ish i got my heavy rigid licence then 12 months later I got my heavy combination licence and i have to say these guy's are the best in business when it comes to training. I now drive a baby road train around Western suburbs of Melbourne doing containers. Thank you Barkly you guy's are legends i even got my P's through Barkly back in 2000

Fantastic experience: Had a great day learning Heavy rigid licence at Barkley Driving school. After attending all sorts of different training facilities for both employment & personal purposes , I firmly understand that a good training facility is crucial! Nick made time to listen to my concerns while answering any queries I had prior booking, he also invited me to the ravenhill premises for a face to face discussion. ( A level of customer service I did not receive from any other driving school facility) I would recommend asking for Matt, he has a great easy going & clear method of teaching. Clean , modern & fully functioning truck . I will undoubtedly return for HC in 12 mths . I'd also like to mention that the ravenhill training centre is located with in a gigantic industrial area. With wide quiet, sparsely populated roads which makes an absolutely perfect environment for Heavy vehicle driving tuition & not dealing with busy congested area's.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience today and got my hr in 1 day as well. To be really honest, I was a bit worried after reading the reviews here about the staff being rude, but it was totally opposite. All of their team Members were kind and wonderful to talk to, especially my trainer Steve. He knew it was my first time driving a truck, so he was quite understanding and let me take my time and get comfortable with the truck and didn't rush in any way. I would recommend Steve to anyone going to Barkly for his license, and I will definitely back next year for my HC.

Fantastic experience: I did my HR license recently. It was an amazing experience. One day course. All instructions were very clear. My trainer Brock was very calm and composed. Very knowledgeable and very friendly.

Fantastic experience: Today I successfully completed my HR license at Barkly’s Driving School. From the first phone call, to make an enquiry, to the moment I walked out the door, having successfully completed the course, was absolutely nothing short of amazing. The office staff were so calming, being a 60+ old fella, I needed calming. Absolutely fantastic. My instructor was Alex. He made me feel very relaxed and comfortable while I was driving. Alex even bought me a coffee, for which I was extremely grateful. I can’t do anything but recommend Barkly’s if you’re looking to get a truck license. And to make the choice even easier, their prices are extremely competitive. 11/10

Fantastic experience: Done my HR and HC there, amazing place to go to. Will upgrade to MC at Barkly for sure. Shout out to Brock who was a wonderful instructor. On a side note, based on the reviews and as a foreigner myself, go there if you have basic English knowledge and wish to get good training without expecting everything to be given to you as if you deserve it by just showing up. You're trying to drive several tons worth of goods, it can kill people in a heartbeat if you don't have the correct knowledge and make an easy mistake. Don't blame instructors for trying to make roads safe. Study and learn. Good place.

Fantastic experience: Super friendly staff and instructors, who are extremely supportive. I had never driven a truck before doing the non synchro HR course here and I felt confident and fully prepared to drive throughout the testing both days. Highly recommend and I will be back for my combination licensing when I can.

Fantastic experience: Barkly is simply the best amongst all in Melbourne. If you are planning to learn and get you HR/HC/MC license then go for it at Barkly. I found Alex and Mario as one of the best instructors at Barkly, anyone aspiring to learn and getting a license test done, straight away go to Barkly and ask for these two guys. There is another person named Chris, who is also one of the best Instructors one can have to learn driving from, he is a such a gentleman, I have hardly even see anyone like him these days.

Fantastic experience: Jovan Dragojlovic is a terrible instructor he was on his phone most of the time Very irritated individual almost got me failing the test didn't tell me about the traffic control lights before the freeway entrance during practice I went through it twice he didn't say a word I guess he was to busy on his phone, unhappy with his training, watch out for this guy. Thanks to the good people there I got my licence.

Fantastic experience: Best driving school in Victoria and the fee is not high like other schools. Nick and Stephen they was the examiner and both of them was really helpful and genuine human beings. Negative experience: Extremly rude trainer Italian guy there. Swears all the time. I went to Barkley driving school for my Heavy-Rigid. He was extremely rude , verbally abusive. I spoke to the manager Mark about it ,he said he ll do something about it . He is not allowed to be working there.fire him please

Mr Stephen Clare who's my instructor is very friendly, knowledgeable, polite, skilful and professional, anything about driving asked, he would politely and effectively give suitable answers and sometimes with expanded and related knowledge, not just limited to the questions being asked. Besides, his politeness and good customer service can calm you down and give you confidence when driving. I will come back for my HC with Stephen and also highly recommend Stephen, the true gentleman. In addition, the theory teacher Nick and admin staff were also very friendly and helpful. Upon completion of my training I felt comfortable and confident driving a truck, having never driven one before. He is an effective communicator and a great teacher. Negative experience: I passed my Heavy Rigid today. The Staff was very good, the theory teacher was very good but my bad luck, my instructor ( Antoni Crispo) was so rude, he treated me like a third class citizen, he was very louder, as stated scaring me," do you have enough money, because you will loose the test" I told him that you are stressing me out, the way you are talking to me not good and while getting lesson he was continuously talking with one and another on phone. I remember some of his wordings as well, he was speaking to his son or daughter and said, " hey have you eaten something, make a sandwich, but their is no bread in fridge, check the raps it would be on the microwave, where is Jessica (may be his wife or not I don't know)" after that he started listening recent covid restrictions update.

Negative experience: I went to Barkley driving school for my Heavy-Rigid, I was instructed by David. I’d never been treated so horribly in my life, let alone for a SERVICE that I was PAYING over $1200 for… He was extremely rude and borderline verbally abusive, also overheard him and another staff member exchange in some racist banter… although I still passed my test on my first try (no thanks to my instructor). I spoke to the manager Mark about my horrible experience, he told me he hoped I have a ‘pleasant afternoon’. I called back to follow up and organize a solution, the reception said they’ll leave a message for Mark to call me back… that never happened. Don’t make the same mistake I did, this place is trash… Absolutely disgusting.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Barkly's. Everything from the initial phone call with basic questions to the actual day, no matter who I spoke to, everyone was pleasent and courteous. On the day of my HR course, we got George for the theory component and he was very clear when teaching and answered all questions that anyone had. I had Matt for the drive component and he worked with me by asking about my driving history and respected what I knew and tailored it from there.

Fantastic experience: I was at the school for my Heavy Rigid License. Geroge was so helpful making us understand the theory part, he explained every important that would be required to kept in mind on a regular basis. My trainer was Antonio, he is such an amazing person, he showed complete confidence in me and encouraged me all the time during my practice and main test. He is a lovely man. Fantastic experience: Hi I successfully got my HR licence today and my trainer was Tim Blanche. He is just awesome in terms of a Trainer. He taught me everything in a good manners. I would definitely recommend Barkly Driving School to everybody who are seeking there heavy truck licences.
