Fantastic experience: Ian is the best driving instructor out there, he was especially helpful when I was just starting to drive because he makes sure you understand all the essentials to passing your ps test first go, which I did, and can thank him for. Would highly recommend to anyone, especially those learning manual

Negative experience: I had an appalling experience with Licence2Drive Driving School, and I feel compelled to share how poorly their communication and customer service are handled. Their rigid cancellation policy and lack of empathy for unforeseen situations are completely unethical. I came down with a fever of 39.6°C on the day of my session. Knowing I was unfit to drive and prioritizing safety, I contacted my instructor early in the morning, well ahead of my session. I politely asked if there was any way to reschedule or waive the cancellation fee, given the medical circumstances. My instructor dismissed my concerns and simply told me to contact the office. I called the office multiple times as soon as they opened at 8 a.m. and left a voicemail explaining my situation. Hours later, I received a vague and unhelpful text stating that "the instructor had already spoken to me." This did not address my question or provide a resolution. When I followed up, they reiterated their strict 24-hour cancellation rule, with no flexibility for emergencies or medical reasons. Which this basically means that if I had an accident, COVID, or another valid emergency, I’d still forfeit my session but would still pay the session and in addition be charged a booking fee. With time running out, I decided to attend the session despite my fever after taking medication because I didn’t want my money to go to waste and I was feeling a little better. I texted both my instructor and the office, confirming I would attend. My instructor read my message but ignored it for 40 minutes. Then, just eight minutes before the session, he informed me that he had "moved up his diary schedule" because I had supposedly cancelled. This was completely false—I never explicitly stated I was cancelling the session. When I confronted him, he was incredibly rude and dismissive, even speaking to me in a passive-aggressive tone. He continued to insist I had cancelled the session and offered no resolution, making comparisons to unrelated services like Uber, which made no sense. By this point, I was so stressed and upset that I had to end the call. This experience left me feeling completely disrespected and unheard. Their lack of professionalism, empathy, and effective communication is appalling. To top it off, they took money for a session that didn’t happen and refused to provide any reasonable accommodation or rescheduling. If you value good customer service, clear communication, and ethical business practices, I strongly recommend thinking twice with Licence2Drive. They fail to prioritize their clients' well-being and safety and seem solely interested in taking your money.

Fantastic experience: Licence2drive is the main reason I was able to pass my driving test, more specifically my instructor David. I completed all of my 10 instructed hours with him, where he taught me to pay attention to detail and answered all of my questions. During my time driving with him, i was able to see major progress and he kept motivating me throughout. I would highly recommend him and Licence2drive as a whole. Always reliable.

Fantastic experience: Malcom has been extremely patient and a wonderful teacher. I was a nervous driver when I started and have come a long way because of how I was taught about road safety. It’s been an amazing experience with Malcom while learning a new skill and being confident about it.

Negative experience: Do not book with David. Absolutely awful offensive 1 hour experience after using this company multiple times with different drivers that were great. Daughter in tears and told she would be eating hospital food for rest of her life if she continued driving. Unbelievable.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t been happier with passing a manual test on the first attempt. Definitely have to thank Ian, who was such a great professional in all ways. Ian not only showed me best practices on driving but also how to build confidence and be prepared for all the different scenarios that will come out when driving in real life (too many people with nonsense currently hold a driver’s license). Plus his chatty and funny attitude were a great combo for becoming a good driver. Also wanted to highlight the great online platform they have to book your classes, after doing a lot of research, they are, by far, the best ones on the northern beaches. Things like this will be very helpful when trying to organize driving lessons around personal busy schedules.

Negative experience: Please do not make the mistake that I did which is trusting the good reviews of this school. I have had the unfortunate mistake of having lessons from, in my opinion, the worse driving instructors of their school namely Gary and David. I found them both to have bad tempers, be extremely impatient and I believe unprofessional and unsuited to their job. They both knew that I have just arrived here in Sydney and even though I hold a license, I haven’t driven for a very, very long time and that I am an anxious driver. My experience with David was the most distressing. He was aware that I hadn’t driven in a very ,very long time, even though I had a license. He also knew that I was quite nervous. However, instead of boosting my confidence, he chose to belittle and insult me during the lesson. David was okay on the first lesson. He asked me to start earlier, which I was happy to do. However, it was during my second lesson that I found him bad tempered and nagging. There was also an uncomfortable conversation with him being upset about me also having a lesson with Gary. I believe I have the right to choose my instructor without explanation nor hear any comments from another instructor. I explained that I wanted to give Gary a second chance, even though I did not appreciate even discussing this matter with him as it is none of David's business. During the lesson, instead of helping me boost up my confidence, he instead kept scolding me, insulting me and making me feel diminished as a person. I found David’s attitude during the lesson to be very unprofessional. Especially his comments such as “How did you even get a license in the first place?” He also told me that he didn’t feel safe with me driving, which of course undermined my confidence even further. His comments were surprising since he was fully aware that I am new to Australia and I was having lessons so I wouldn’t be a danger to myself or to the public. As a professional driving instructor, I was expecting that David had encountered all kinds of students, of varying levels of driving competence and ability. I expected that he had enough experience to have refrained from making sarcastic comments to undermine his student’s confidence. I have now left this driving school traumatized and have had to have counselling to help me deal with this experience. When I informed Ian, the owner of the school, about my bad experience, he sided with the instructor and insulted me without even fully knowing my side of the story. To conclude, if I could give zero star, then I would. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL AT ALL TO ANYONE.

Fantastic experience: I had David prepare me for my driving test and he was all round amazing. Very calm and friendly method of teaching which I found was necessary. His method of teaching was fantastic and was very pleased to have him teach me to drive.

Very professional, patient, gives clear advice and explains everything from how to park all through to preparation for the driving test routes. Fantastic experience: Gary was THE BEST! I am a quite self-disciplined person and I like to do things the right way, and Gary definitely taught me everything and more that I need to know for the test. I also really enjoyed our drives, we talk and have been to some amazing places. He always challenged me with something like driving in the rain towards the city or some very narrow streets up the mountain, which made me very confident in my driving. He always believed in me and my skills behind the wheel, even when I was doubting myself. He kept coming with different places that we could drive to, different neighbourhoods and styles of roads.
