Fantastic experience: Ian is the best driving instructor out there, he was especially helpful when I was just starting to drive because he makes sure you understand all the essentials to passing your ps test first go, which I did, and can thank him for. Would highly recommend to anyone, especially those learning manual
Fantastic experience: David was an awesome instructor, with only one lesson and a lot of important information about the route, I was able to pass the driving test and get my licence first go!! His tips were just gold, used all of them and o pass the test - 99% score!
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience, thanks David for your professionalism, patience and good energy! Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: For anyone about to do their driving test, I would highly recommend Malcolm. He's experienced, knowledgeable and patient. He gave me some good tips and made me feel relaxed.
Negative experience: I had an appalling experience with Licence2Drive Driving School, and I feel compelled to share how poorly their communication and customer service are handled. Their rigid cancellation policy and lack of empathy for unforeseen situations are completely unethical. I came down with a fever of 39.6°C on the day of my session. Knowing I was unfit to drive and prioritizing safety, I contacted my instructor early in the morning, well ahead of my session. I politely asked if there was any way to reschedule or waive the cancellation fee, given the medical circumstances. My instructor dismissed my concerns and simply told me to contact the office. I called the office multiple times as soon as they opened at 8 a.m. and left a voicemail explaining my situation. Hours later, I received a vague and unhelpful text stating that "the instructor had already spoken to me." This did not address my question or provide a resolution. When I followed up, they reiterated their strict 24-hour cancellation rule, with no flexibility for emergencies or medical reasons. Which this basically means that if I had an accident, COVID, or another valid emergency, I’d still forfeit my session but would still pay the session and in addition be charged a booking fee. With time running out, I decided to attend the session despite my fever after taking medication because I didn’t want my money to go to waste and I was feeling a little better. I texted both my instructor and the office, confirming I would attend. My instructor read my message but ignored it for 40 minutes. Then, just eight minutes before the session, he informed me that he had "moved up his diary schedule" because I had supposedly cancelled. This was completely false—I never explicitly stated I was cancelling the session. When I confronted him, he was incredibly rude and dismissive, even speaking to me in a passive-aggressive tone. He continued to insist I had cancelled the session and offered no resolution, making comparisons to unrelated services like Uber, which made no sense. By this point, I was so stressed and upset that I had to end the call. This experience left me feeling completely disrespected and unheard. Their lack of professionalism, empathy, and effective communication is appalling. To top it off, they took money for a session that didn’t happen and refused to provide any reasonable accommodation or rescheduling. If you value good customer service, clear communication, and ethical business practices, I strongly recommend thinking twice with Licence2Drive. They fail to prioritize their clients' well-being and safety and seem solely interested in taking your money.
Thank you for your feedback, though we strongly disagree with your portrayal of the situation. We operate a business with clear terms and conditions, stated on every email you receive from us,including a 24-hour cancellation policy, which you agreed to when booking. These policies exist to protect both our instructors’ time and the integrity of our operations. Expecting an exemption because of your personal circumstances—while unfortunate—does not negate the policy that applies to all clients equally. You have not been charged a booking fee as we don’t have them. You have Provided zero evidence of being ill only a text message stating so. Which you just expect us to believe. Regarding your claim of poor communication, you spoke to your instructor at 7.45am via text and phone call and you were told about the cancellation policy. Your decision to attend the session after previously indicating you were unwell and cancelling the lesson was both last-minute and impractical, as the instructor had already adjusted their schedule in response to your initial communication. At 11.15am you decided you had made a miraculous recovery and you were going to attend the 12pm lesson. You cannot possibly expect the instructor to start dealing with your calls and messages whilst in the middle of the lesson hence why he returned your call at 11.50am stating that he had already moved his diary around as you had cancelled. The comparison to services like Uber and contractors was made to emphasize the importance of honoring bookings and respecting cancellation policies, which are standard across many industries. All driving instructors are all self employed and have a right to earn a living. Choosing to drive with a fever also contradicts your claim that safety was your priority. While we empathize with your situation, the expectation that we should waive policies for you at the expense of our instructors’ time and other clients’ bookings is unreasonable. If adherence to agreed terms and conditions is viewed as “unethical,” we respectfully suggest seeking a service that aligns with your expectations. We wish you the best with your future endeavors. P.S Thank your boyfriend Jack McDonald for his 1 star review who we don’t teach Thanks Licence2drive
