(Small note: for any short riders, they do have lowered motorcycles but be wary that you may still need to tiptoe quite a bit but the instructors are quite nice about the whole thing)

Fantastic experience: I started my motorcycle journey with absolutely no experience, and now I’m confidently on the roads. It all began with the Pre-Learners course—I wanted to test myself and see how I’d go. I loved it, and that was the moment I decided to continue. My trainer, Tony, made my first experience fantastic. He was highly experienced, informative, and friendly, and in a short time, he helped build my confidence. Two weeks later, I returned for the Learners course. It was intense but also an incredibly fun two days. My trainer, Brian, was just as professional as Tony. He patiently answered all my questions and significantly boosted my confidence. I’ve taken all their advice and tips on board, and I’m now applying them in real-life situations. For anyone with no experience looking to undertake the Learners course, I highly recommend starting with the Pre-Learners course before moving on to the Learners. The more practice you get with professionals, the better prepared you’ll be. I’d like to extend my gratitude to Armstrongs Driver Education, especially my trainers Tony and Brian, for their incredible support. I’m looking forward to returning for the Ride and License Check soon... See you then!

I had an exceptional experience under the guidance of Bernie, a trainer with over 50 years of experience. The course was a unique ‘unlearning and relearning’ journey, and they incorporated global best practices into the course structure, which enhanced my riding approach. His invaluable expertise and insights made this training highly informative and transformative.

Fantastic experience: I had a terrific training program with Armstrongs which wasn’t just about passing tests. They equipped me with the necessary foundation skills in a very supportive environment. Their selection of well trained and experienced “coaches”/teachers is excellent as demonstrated by Rhys who is knowledgeable and has a great style that makes it very easy to learn and embed the skill set necessary to be a safe and competent driver. I did the Heavy Rigid Silver course which gave me the extra hours behind the wheel I was after to give me insights into my capability and areas to work on moving forward on my transport journey. The online learning was a plus which consolidated the hand book learning and helped me pass the theory on my first attempt. Rhys’ great manner and approach meant same deal with the practical test. A big thanks to a professional team at Armstrongs and a big thumbs up.

Fantastic experience: Excellent training facility for truck, motorcycle, and forklift license training. The instructors take you through everything you need to know in a clear and concise way, and are happy to field any questions you have. I just completed the motorcycle learners course with Max, who is a competent, skilled, and knowledgeable instructor. If you have never rode a motorbike before and have a limited or lacking understanding of the use of a clutch and manual gearbox then you should definitely do the pre-learners course first as it will help you understand the mechanics of the bike and reduce the risk of stalling the bike and failing the test. I highly recommend Armstrong's Thomastown for anyone seeking license training and testing.

Fantastic experience: I completed my second day two bike asessment today with Keith and I could not recommend him more highly. Keith is so patient and thorough with his explanation and training, he made it very easy to pass. The entire Armstrong's team is amazing!!

Negative experience: !!WORST PLACE TO LEARN HOW TO RIDE A BIKE!!! Had a pre learners session with them, and it was horrible, overpriced too. Don’t recall my instructor’s name, Stuart/Steve..? They did not provide any safety gear besides gloves that were too big and a helmet. Instructor yelled at me for dropping the bike, even when he was aware of my height issues. Was super rude and told me I should reconsider riding bikes. Instructors are meant to motivate. He was not patient nor did he properly show me how to use the brakes or clutch. GO TO HART!! Had a lesson with them and it was amazing, full safety gear was provided and instructor motivated and supported me. !!DO NOT GO TO ARMSTRONG!!

Fantastic experience: I did my motorcycle check ride and license test here. Both times were excellent, reception staff really friendly and processed paperwork quickly. My instructors (Bernie and Chris) both unpretentious and just lovely, supporting me at every step and giving clear instructions and feedback. I got a screw in my tyre and Chris helped me get my bike to local mechanic after test which was greatly appreciated. Got my full license here yesterday and stoked, thank you!

Fantastic experience: I got my heavy rigid recently through Armstrongs, a few days before I had my wallet stolen and my ID wasn’t available (you need your ID to upgrade your license), the office staff were very supportive and resourceful in working with myself and VicRoads to still make the test happen. Mal my instructor was very polite and patient, he made sure I had a thorough understanding and confidence in operating the truck. I’ve previously also done my motorcycle license there and had a very positive experience. Patience and kindness seems to be the mantra at Armstrongs.
