Down Under Riders: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Dwyane is a good patience instructor. He ensured my safety as his top priority. Explains well as English is my second language. Prepared me well for the test and beyond. Strongly recommend him guys
Fantastic experience: Easy to arrange a booking, flexible with my pda times. Great instruction and preparation, passed first attempt.
Fantastic experience: Dwayne was easy to work with, professional and patient. Identified my weaknesses on the motorbike and I saw a vast improvement in my riding ability after a few lessons. Helped me pass my R-E test first time. Thanks Dwayne
Fantastic experience: Dwayne is a great instructor and gave me lots of guidance to successfully pass by R-E test on my first try. Has lots of little tips to help you stay safe, become a better rider and pass the test. Highly recommend Dwayne to anyone looking to learn to ride.
Fantastic experience: Dwayne is a great teacher, got me through my R-Class first time. Cheers mate!
Fantastic experience: Have done 1 lesson so far with Dwayne. Nice bloke and is able to communicate calm and directly to any issues I had. Good chat and not afraid to ha e a bit of a laugh, which made me feel at ease. A long way to go with my progression towards my practical test, but in Dwaynes capable hands, I doubt I'll have any issues along the way. Cheers Dwayne, look forward to our lesson this arvo
Fantastic experience: I sought Down Under riders to help me get my license after one failed trial. Dwayne identified my weaknesses and helped me overcome them. His method made me a much better rider and, whithout it, I wouldn’t have passed my assessment. Dwayne is a star and I cannot recommend Down Under Riders any further. Anyone trying to learn how to ride should give him a call right now!
Fantastic experience: I've done 4 lessons with Dwayne so far its been great and I improved alot, he is a professional instructor and explains everything well, I asked him the same questions every time and he's happy to answer. He does his best to schedule the best time for me. Highly recommend, looking forward for more lessons with Dwayne.
Fantastic experience: Dwayne was great, was always patient and explained not only what I had done wrong but the reasoning behind it... I passed the test first time thanks to his help.. I can highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn how to ride safely..
Thanks mate. All the best and safe riding when you move to Melbourne.
Negative experience: I was disappointed with the riding lesson experience provided by Dwayne at Down Under Riding. Upon arriving at his house I was greeted with a rather unfriendly attitude and A very dirty bike with heavily worn hand grips and a seat held together by duct tape - not the ideal start to the lesson. After questioning if the bike had a gear indicator I was met with an aggressive 'bikes don't need those!' response. Sure, but a gear indicator sure does help when learning to ride a bike! The lesson commenced with crossing an intersection in a dodgy fashion directly across from his house - it's not entirely legal to ride in the wrong direction against traffic, even if it's for just a few meters. As I accelerated out of that intersection, I was given a good serve of criticism for 'revving the bike too hard!' - Calm down, this was the first time I'd ever used this bike! As I shook off the negative start to the lesson, Dwayne did provide some helpful riding advice and tips which were appreciated. Disappointingly, he was busy on his mobile phone while I did low speed manoeuvres and did not show much interest in providing advice to help my technique. I decided not to use the second Groupon voucher and instead opted for a different training provider. Dwayne rejected my request to refund the second voucher, despite the negative experience I had and my attempt to resolve things civilly.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Down Under Riders. Dwayne is very professional in his approach to motorcycle instruction. The lessons teach the student not only how to pass the practical test, but how to stay as safe as possible when on the road.
Negative experience: Did a 90 min lesson trough a groupon. Wasn’t happy at all with the approach I received from instructor, as well as while practising U-turns etc. instructor was all the time on his phone. Waste of money and time. Rather would choose someone else.
Sorry you feel that way. I’d be more than happy to take you out for an hour free of charge. I hope that you can also understand that in an extremely challenging industry. And as a sole trader with no one else’s help the importance of replying and securing work. If I don’t reply to possible students that I’ll lose that work.
Fantastic experience: Highly Recommended. I passed my RE test today, and I can comfortably say I couldn't have done it without him - his knowledge of riding, the testing route, and the instructors is second to none. As other reviewer have said, he doesn't just teach the test, he teaches effective road craft and safe riding to keep you safe on the streets. Thanks again Dwayne, I'll be seeing you again in a year
More than welcome mate. Enjoy the mt03
Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend Dwayne as your instuctor! He prepares you to pass the test, but most important is your safety on the road. I had a great time learning from the best. Thank you for being so patient and professional. See you on the road mate!
Fantastic experience: Attentive and knowledgeable, I'll be going back to Dwayne for lessons to get my R Class.
Fantastic experience: Dwayne is professional and patient. Would highly recommend for first time riders!!!
Positive experience: Dwayne was very professional in everything he spoke about and explained. His experience and knowledge is great and helped myself AND others, pass and earn a motorcycle license. I highly recommend him. Thanx Dwayne.
Fantastic experience: Great motorbike instructor
Fantastic experience: Dwayne has taught my daughter and myself how to be safe motorcycle riders, I recommend him to everyone that's going for there license
Negative experience: Do not! I repeat do not go any where near this guy for moto cycle training or in general. Wayne has been reported to the police by me for kicking my car and threatening me with a screwdriver. He is an abusive & aggressive ex-security guard and possibly on drugs. Abused and swore at me for going too slow in a 60kmph zone, whilst I was trying to learn in the motorcycle. I decided to take his bike back to his house and leave. I refused to pay him as I had only gotten 5 minutes into the lesson when he abused me. As I tried to leave he kicked my car and threatened me with a screwdriver. Do not go anywhere near this guy, especially for instructing.
Let's get a few things straight. You abused me first for trying to improve your riding ability and help you pass your test. I was trying to do my hardest to get you to pass. You weren't willing to accept my suggestions and got frustrated by them. Secondly. I never abused you for going to slow in a 60zone. I asked you to increase your speed as we were doing 50km/he in a 60 zone(twice I asked you calmly to increase your speed). You then went off the deep end yelling abuse at me screaming that it's a residential street and a 50km/hr zone(please note that Benara road has no 50km/hr zones). You ran straight to your car without any word and when asked to pay for my time you abused me again and tried to run me down in your car. I will now be pressing charges for improper use of a motor vehicle. Which is on camera and been shown to the police. You are not safe on a motorcycle, unwilling to take directions, not willing to accept a professional opinion and just not a nice person. Also I am not on nor taken drugs and will happily submit to any test. I did security work 10 years ago on minesites and government contracts so I don't know what that proves? I'm the first to admit I'm not perfect. But I have a 100% safety record with students on the road because of my observation skills. I lost an ex student to a fatal crash earlier this year and I will do my best to make sure no others die through poor training! All the best for the future.
Fantastic experience: Great instructor very helpful. A great teacher. He is very informative and also explains why the way things are done. Thank you very much
