At Ride-Tek MTA our job is to make sure you meet the skills and the legal requirements to obtain your Victorian Motorcycle Learners Permit or your Licence Assessment, and to ensure that you can ride safely.
We motorcycle learner courses seven days a week catering for every level of experience. We are conveniently located at Princes Highway, Sandown Race Track, close to Melbourne & Dandenong. Our now training Range is located at West Sunshine.

I love his teaching style, he is very kind and attentive, and he is very dedicated to all the students, not just a few. Fantastic experience: Steve Jones is an absolute legend. I had the pleasure of completing my check ride and licence test with him. He is so genuine, patient and such a calming presence for new and old riders alike. He tailors feedback that's individualised to the rider and takes the time to help you grasp the concepts in such a relaxed but efficient manor. I was the only woman in a group of men during the check ride, (which made me anxious) but Steve made sure to treat me with care, respect and equality within the group, alleviating any worries I had. I would highly recommend Steve at RIDE-TEK, he is such an asset to their team. THANKYOU STEVE!

Fantastic experience: Michael was a great trainer! Such a well of knowledge and experience in riding. You can tell he really enjoys training new rider, inspiring them to strive and better, safer rider out on the road. “You ride your own ride” and “Your safety is your own responsibility”. These are some of the things that I’ll remember forever as a novice rider building my experience and confidence on the bike. Such an inspiration for his students to be better riders in the long run!

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience to get my motorcycle leaner permit! The Instructor Steve was excellent at his job and knew exactly what to critique and was very patient and friendly throughout the entire experience. Btw I have 0 experience on motorcycle and pass the 2 days learner course, didn't think It's hard as long as you're good to follow instructions. Fantastic experience: After thousands and thousands of dreams that I was riding my own motorcycle, I finally took the plunge and booked a learner course with Ride-Tek (Sunshine). Instructor Scott (if I'm not mistaken) was absolutely awesome. His tenacity to teach us how to be safe in every drill we do and how to do it properly is still humming in my head while I've been riding in the last month. The whole experience was great from booking to being handed my permit. I really liked the little ceremony where we all put our stickers on the wall after we've finished the last day. It was a really good touch and kudos to whoever first thought about that. It didn't feel so much as a business deal where "you got what you paid for, pleasure doing business" but more of like a "welcome to the motorcycle family!".

Fantastic experience: L and cr both learned from Steve (who looks a bit like Iron Man), he teaches very well and is extremely patient, even if your English is not good, he will make sure you understand his meaning. The teaching atmosphere is very relaxed and enjoyable, although sometimes you might not understand his jokes. Highly recommend ride-rek's coach Steve!

Fantastic experience: I really love Coach Steve so much. He's the best coach I've ever met! Very friendly and patient with girls, my friends and I experienced unprecedented happiness in two days. Although it continued to rain these days, I still succeeded. I am also a victim of stay up right. The coach didn't even allow me to train the next day and let me learn how to ride a scooter. Obviously, I failed in that training, but last weekend I was lucky to meet Coach Steve. The two-day learning process was easy, and although the equipment was wet, it was worth it. So friends, don't hesitate to choose Steve. You won't regret it. He will let you know that your efforts are not in vain

Fantastic experience: Steve is the best motorcycle instructor I've ever had! He was very nice and friendly, and the training atmosphere was very relaxed, making me feel like 2 days went by too fast! And he is very friendly to female students and often encourages me and my girl friend, which makes us more confident. At Stayupright, where I had failed once before, and also failed the make-up exam, the instructors didn't advise me to learn manual bike, moreover, they were very unfriendly, even sexist to girls. But this time I succeeded, it proved that girls can also be very good at riding a manual motorcycle, a good coach can make you successful! Next time I will choose to come back here for my check ride and license assessment. Believe me, you will not regret choosing Steve! 家人们选Steve啊！亲测靠谱！

Negative experience: Passed by this place this afternoon and it just reminded me a very bad experience months ago and decided to write something about it again. With this unprofessional training agency. Even it’s been months but I still remember some details, because that experience was just so bad. I would say the road test is very subjective, pass or fail is totally decided by the coach. A lady from their support team was been super rude and hanged up my phone because I said I don’t have much time to waste because the coach failed my test with an unacceptable reason or something…lol that was just so funny my English wasn’t even that good when I was there but I still passed the second day test without any fails, I don’t even need them to introduce that much, I just watch and I do the way they do, ez, because I’ve been riding for a couple years. I was keep saying oh that coach is a nice guy or something I was just trying to be nice and see if I can get my money back, but I just don’t know how to reverse the conversation into a right way for complaining. And when we were riding at the training ground there was a truck doing reversing about 10 menters away from us, which I would consider is very unsafe for any training takers. Oh yes, the coach’s name is Mike or Micheal or something, I was almost hit by a car at a intersection because he didn’t give away to our convey when we were doing the road test, it was a Ute. And after we finished the lap I was like: that guy was trying to kill me you see that Mike? And he failed my test immediately instead of caring my wellbeing, talking about some urgent action or something, anyone who know how to drive they know we always get some rude drives on the road especially when you meet a Ute, normal ppl woulda just give away to a bunch of leaners because they know we are and we got a L sign on our bike. That old kiwi dude was so hilarious. Even a guy who don’t even know how to ride and switch gears at the first beginning passed the test, that dude was like a completely fresh rider, he will probably forget how to dismount his bike the next day. lol, 5 stars review? Lol, that is just so funny, hope anyone who see this review can understand how terrible they are
Hello Wesley, Below is my original response to your review many months back that you seem to have now deleted which I will again respond with. Thankyou for your feedback on our conversation. Firstly I will point out at no stage was I "rude" but in fact tried to on multiple occasions explain to you that the training and testing requirements followed by us as an Accredited Vicroads Provider are as per Vicroads requirements, and that if you had concerns about them that you should follow-up with Vicroads. To which you became quite condescending and belligerent and responded with "that's just an excuse". At this point I did explain that if you continued speaking to me in the manner you were then I would have to end the conversation. Secondly, I did try to explain that if you enter an intersection believing that you had enough time to do so and a car has to take "evasive action" by applying its brakes and sounding its horn to avoid hitting you then unfortunately this is an immediate fail. At no point during our discussion did you wish to acknowledge that this was deemed "evasive action" and actually told me that "if the instructor hadn't seen the incident happen then he wouldn't have even known about it and given you the learner permit". Your original review from months ago started with "worst experience ever" however throughout our conversation you also confirmed that our instructor was very good and you had a great deal of 'respect for him". Not at any point until I declined you request for a refund did you then voice your displeasure with the service or the fact that you had paid $500.00 and that you hadn't received "good service", to which I then pointed out that your payment of $500.00 does not entitle or buy you a permit and that the ability to pass the assessment off & on-road is largely up to your riding ability and skill. You then continued the conversation threatening to involve a "third party" entity to which I then again responded with that we are purely a service provider and again whether you feel that the assessment criteria is "goofy" as per your words or not I encourage you to take the feedback to Vicroads as the MGLS was created and developed by them and we merely deliver as per the requirements and that if you felt that was necessary then to do so. I absolutely dispute at any point were you laughed at and at one point when you continued with your condescending tone I even tried to extinguish the situation by saying that we "would have to agree to disagree" as far as the "evasive action' was concerned and offered to rebook your “FREE” Day 2 resit for you to which you responded "I don't have time lady". You then explained that you did not require a learner permit anyway, said good-bye and hung up. Wesley the onus is on you as the student to “pass” the test, and you would have had another opportunity to do that “FREE” of charge if not for the fact that you were unwilling to “own” your outcome but rather justify it by blaming everyone else, including the other road users at the time. We are always grateful for feedback positive and negative as it enables us to become better at what we do. However when an unsuccessful student feels aggrieved by a process solely due to the fact that they were unsuccessful with the assessment requirements and then reviews us and what we do in a negative light, deletes his original review then reviews us again in the same condescending, disrespectful tone (that I was subjected to initially) many months later, I have to question whether the feedback is genuine or merely designed to tarnish our otherwise exemplary service.

Fantastic experience: Michael was such a great instructor and even better guy, all nervousness and worries about riding a motorcycle go away as he ensures you get to the required level to pass the course. Despite not passing the 2nd day, he explained what I needed to work on and I had the opportunity to retake the 2nd day for free, which I did then learnt even more than before and passed! Fantastic experience: Just finished my 2-day course with ‘Steve Jones’ the instructor, i figured out how to ride a motorbike within 2 days with the help and guidance of him. I honestly couldn’t thank him or the company enough. The bikes were great and fun, helmets were up to code. The only feedback i have to say are the trucks that have to keep coming in and out of the range making the class stay back and have interrupted practice. Great experience overall, thanks Steve

Fantastic experience: Just got my L’s last week. Michael and Steve were great. Took me from never riding a manual bike to riding out on the road in less than two days. Lots of information on safety, gear and bike recommendations. I didn’t think I’d be able to do it, but these guys made it easy - highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I recently did my Check Ride and Licence Assessment here, and both experiences were excellent. I left the Check Ride with useful feedback and felt much more confident on the road afterwards, and the Licence Assessment went smoothly with some more helpful feedback upon completion. I had previously done my Learners Course at the Sandown location which was also a great experience, and can wholeheartedly recommended Ridetek if you are looking to obtain your motorbike licence.

Fantastic experience: What do they say A good instructor makes a good rider. My Instructor Steve was absolutely fantastic. He explained & guided me through a tuff soaking wet 2 days of training. Fantastic experience: Booked my husband lessons for Christmas and he has said his experience has been wonderful. My own experience in making each of the various assessment, testing bookings so he can progress with his learning to a full licence has also been easy. The office staff have been really helpful and I'd recommend them. Lessons book out quickly for each of the stages so don't hang about in getting them booked. Also, my husband was really impressed with Steve Jones.
