Fantastic experience: Just got my L's here today. HART is absolutely AMAZING!⭐Their trainers are super experienced, responsible, patient, humorous... ALL nice people! They are very focusing on training your the most practical riding skills and I've learned so much of DEFENSIVE RIDING.⚠️️ Highly recommended to do the (best price) Pre-Learner half day session to people who have never touched a motorbike before and it would just provide the essential skills for getting your Learner's much more easy. They also do 10% off for the L's and a wild range of courses once you complete the Pre, so it was basically just free if you think about it - cost less in total if compared to others and I have gained sooo much more! You got to ride on a decent Honda CB125F and may be allowed to test-ride on their bigger bikes once you got your learners. Did I mention a FREE re-test if failed? No worries, it actually benefits you more from not getting hurriedly on the roads without adequate preparations! Ride safe❤️

Fantastic experience: Mark is a really good teacher and funny guy. I don’t want to jump the gun by saying this as they’ve only given me my L’s so far and I haven’t done the P’s test yet but was a pretty comprehensive course with friendly people who are keen to share their passion.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience both in the learners programme as well as the test. The instructors are not just highly skilled riders but also are very good teachers. They've a great sense of humour, which definitely helps calm the nerves of newbie riders. They definitely don't have a sense of humour about safety, as you'd and should expect. The whole training program is about riding safely and they constantly remind you of that. If I don't ever crash in my life then it's because of those instructors. The school (Kilsyth, Vic) has excellent infrastructure. They use 125 cc lightweight bikes for training. They're easy enough for anyone who's ridden a bicycle to handle them. The exam itself is on a 300cc bike, which wasn't too powerful to scare someone. It was definitely a lot more fun though. Special thanks to Stuart for being a very kind and excellent teacher for my learners program. And of course thank you Andrew for actually caring about safety in the range and on the road. Andrew is very good judge of character and wants you to succeed but isn't going to let you make mistakes and walk away. He spends enough time to make sure that the test taker understands the exam well not just to give you a piece of paper at the end but to save your life by following safe riding practices. Thanks everyone at HART. Highly recommend this place for future riders.

Fantastic experience: Completed the 2 day Learners Permit course and found the whole experience to be very enjoyable. Our instructor Andrew had a constant stream of energy and passion into his training. He engaged with everyone's needs on an individual level, and ensured we picked up good habits for brand-new beginner riders. There is no pressure for unfamiliar/unskilled/uncomfortable riders; with a focus on gradual familiarisation, focus on safety, and options for additional training if required. Will happily come back for a check ride in the future.

Fantastic experience: These guys are so thorough, a genuine focus on building up your safety on the road rather than just ticking the box

Negative experience: I would not recommend using HART for anything other than your Learner’s course. I had booked a P’s Licence test for a particular time and this was confirmed over the phone a week out from the date. Upon arriving 15 minutes earlier than the recommended time, I was rudely greeted by the assessor who informed me I was over an hour late. After calling the head office, I was told that this is purely my fault. Even though they had my correct mobile number, no reminder text of the booking was sent, even after I was told this would occur. The ladies in the office are nice which is the only reason why this is 2 stars.

Fantastic experience: Did my license test with the amazing Andrew. He knows his stuff, makes you feel at ease and comfortable. I’m so privileged to have had him from the very start. Fantastic experience: Had an awesome 2 days completing my learners permit with Andrew on Monday & Tuesday (19/20.2.24). Andrew was a very easy going teacher who loves the banter which took a bit of the pressure off us, all while remaining very professional and passionate about his job! A lot was learnt over the two days and I was made to feel comfortable on the road with the guidance of our teacher! As someone who only wanted a motorbike license to ride her dirt bike in the bush, she may of just put a deposit on a road bike! Thanks Andrew, you made the whole experience a lot less overwhelming and a lot more enjoyable!

Fantastic experience: These 5 stars go to Michael, Michael (yes two of them) Mark and Karl. I went to HART Kilsyth to repeat my second day of the Learners Permit Course after a terrible experience at Somerton (not mentioning names here) where I pretty much threw my test because of a few factors including a not so great instructor. The three M’s at Kilsyth were polar opposites. They made the day so much fun with their constant banter and digs at each other’s riding capabilities and Mark’s hilarious course demonstrations. Totally making for a chilled atmosphere where we absorbed the important stuff and were relaxed, and confident enough to ALL pass with flying colours. My Check Ride was also at Kilsyth with Karl who was fantastic, very thorough, with a no nonsense attitude without being rude or nasty and gave very clear feedback to work with. That instructor at Somerton needs to learn from these guys! Definitely recommend HART Kilsyth and these 4 instructors.

Fantastic experience: If you can somehow manage to get Andrew, you are in luck because he is an amazing instructor, exceptional in fact. Totally lives up to previous reviews. And if you have never ridden a bike before, I am going to share a bit of my experience hopefully can help someone else. But be warned it’a a long post. And if HART is reading this, please consider letting students select instructors when it comes to practice sessions, it is so beneficial when you have someone who can teach as oppose to just do assessments. Different people have different learning/ teaching styles, considering riding safely is so important, makes more sense to encourage people to come back and learn things properly in a safe environment that couldn’t be cover during the 2 Day course. The current learners course that VicRoads dictates, in my opinion is not sufficient especially for those who have zero riding experience and/or have never driven a manual car before. If you have neither, I would strongly recommend to book in some practice sessions first to get familiar with operating the bike and basic riding in. While HART allows retry the test without additional cost (which is amazing btw) but it is a full day commitment for retry (or 2 if you don’t retry within 30 days because you have to do the whole learners again) The learners course is packed, very incredible packed curriculum, as far as I know there’s very little room if not none for instructors to go over time let alone paying extra attention to anyone, and if you fall behind on Day1, it is very unlikely to be able to catch up on Day2. So I was one of these people, in fact Day1 was a pretty bad, I struggled to keep up, being yelled at and continually told i just have to get it did not help my progress either. I did finally pass on retry with the aforementioned practice sessions in between (p.s Stuart is also a really good teacher but HART couldn’t guarantee specific instructors so it’s a bit luck of the draw) After I passed the test I booked in again because I know that getting better will me stay alive and I want to get into good habits. I was lucky enough to end up with Andrew. What a change in learning experience! Incredibly patient guy, when I did things right he was encouraging and when I made mistakes he calmly explain why it happened and how to correct it. There’s no yelling, no asking ‘why did you just do that?’ or any of those things that made me felt stupid learning a new skill. I am sure all HART instructors are skilled at riding, but personally I feel just good at riding doesn’t necessarily equate good at teaching. Even my skill is far from perfect I feel more confident in riding now thanks to Stuart and Andrew. I will continue with some more practice sessions so I can have my riding checked along the way and hope I will get Andrew again in the future!

Fantastic experience: I just had the pleasure of completing my two day Motorcycle Learners Permit course at HART, Kilsyth. Our Instructor,Andrew A, was fantastic, he was passionate, knowledgeable, patient and made the course really enjoyable. Andrew was able to make the course fun and gave explanations and demonstrations that we could all understand. Would definitely recommend HART as they have great facilities, friendly staff and a convenient location. Thanks again Andrew for making our two days so great!

Fantastic experience: Amazing courses! I did the 2-day learner course and was very pleased. The instructors provide a thorough and entertaining way to learn to ride. Would definetly recomend HART to new riders, they give everything plus more to get you confident and ready for riding.

Negative experience: Cooked as. Instructors will fail you for “head checks” It takes one second to look in the direction you’re going and around you, if you look too long or make a too obvious head movement you can either slam into the car infront of you or unbalance yourself with the weight of your helmet BUT if you don’t do these unsafe practices and just do a glance, even though a glance is encouraged, the instructor won’t notice you doing it and will fail you. You will then be made to re-do it and as a result, if you work a lot and don’t have time to retake it, you will be out hundreds of dollars. Bikes chains are not properly maintained either and 1-1 instructors for P’s assessments are extremely rushed. There is very little communication and while explaining the road course and other exercises Michael had said things in such a fast manner, it made it barely legible, therefore requiring more clarification which you will mot receive. I am aware there are four Michaels here but the one that does Sundays is the one which I am talking about - I cannot comment on other instructors as I have not experienced them HOWEVER, friends that have gone here have commented on their very poor VicRoads lodging times; how they wont lodge check rides and licenses with VicRoads for weeks - meaning people will waste money on P’s assessments as their check ride was lodged weeks after they did it even though they actually did the check ride 1+ months before said assessment. I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Instructor Andrew was very patient, knowledgeable, and very motivated to help everyone complete the course successfully. Other instructors appeared very professional also. Fantastic experience: I had an outstanding experience with Honda Australia Rider Training (HART). Initially unsure about motorcycles, my confidence grew significantly over the two-day training. Instructor Andrew's guidance helped refine my skills, especially in braking and overall comfort on the bike. Thanks to their support, I successfully passed my learners assessment. Now, I'm on the lookout for my own motorcycle, and I can't express enough gratitude for the excellent training and support I received at HART.

Fantastic experience: HART was absolutely fantastic. I did my learner permit course here and it was taught perfectly. I’ve never ridden a motorcycle before, only a bicycle which years ago, and I was so impressed by how everything was explained so simply that it was easy to pick it up. My instructor Micheal S was such a legend. He was giving off major dad energy and I loved every bit of it. He was very supportive and extremely understanding. He kept reassuring us that it was okay to make mistakes and pushed us to be our own teachers in correcting our mistakes. His stories about his learner days and the chats we had as a group were definitely the highlight. Sucks that he’s retiring soon because I really think everyone who comes to Kilsyth should be taught by him. We will miss you !!

Fantastic experience: Just completed my learners through HART four days ago and couldn't recommend them enough. I'm 50 and have ridden dirtbikes on and off, but couldn't believe the difference to a roadbike, I felt like an absolute beginner again. Fantastic experience: I’m not usually one for writing reviews but in this case I have to make an exception. My experience with Andrew at HART Honda Kilsyth was so incredible I feel the need to share. Being the only woman in the Learner’s course was a little intimidating at first but Andrew made such a huge effort to make me feel safe, comfortable and included that I very quickly relaxed under his guidance. He is a warm, friendly and very knowledgeable instructor with a great sense of humour and a passion for what he does. His focus on safety and fun made the whole experience so wonderful and I feel so blessed to have learnt from him. I started the course feeling nervous about my inexperience and skill level, and I left feeling accomplished and confident in my new abilities. His belief in me and my capacity to learn this skill encouraged and motivated me to believe in myself even when I was making mistakes and feeling overwhelmed. He didn’t let me get away with things but constantly worked to improve my craft and draw out my natural resources. I feel assured that he wouldn’t have passed me if I wasn’t capable due to his passion for road safety. This made me feel like I was in safe hands and gave me confidence to continue down this path. Andrew, thank you for making this the best experience it could be and for creating a culture of encouragement and support in our group. We all left safer, better riders because of you. Fantastic experience: I must say, what an experience you all made it there at Honda Kilsyth. I am so so glad I waited for & chose you! First and foremost, Andrew was an absolutely superb instructor!! Couldn't have chosen a better fit for a first course (or any for that matter). I was scared to death going in for my course, and from the get-go, his positive attitude, constant feedback & motivation to us all was inspiring, and it is absolutely what made all the difference in the many times of insecurity. He must have read the nervous body language, and handled it with brilliance. I seriously can't stress how important his knowledge, attitude, and his fantastic approach was throughout, to getting me through to pass. He would use his sharp comical prowess often, which really eased the nervousness in us all. He welcomed any and all questions. Was thorough in every capacity. You somehow always felt safe with him too, which is paramount. He is brilliant at this "job", and I'll recommend him to anyone & everyone! We also had the pleasure of a clearly very advanced instructor for a couple of 'cameo' portions of the course (I believe his name was Michael perhaps?).. I think Andrew referred to him as 'Legend' lol, so apologies if that's not his name. The point is, he was also very likeable, and exuded knowledge, and skill. In addition, we had another one named Joe join us, who again, was very likeable, and shared some of his experience and knowledge during our on-road ride. In summary, everyone we dealt with was very humorous, charismatic, upbeat, positive, super-skilled, and knowledgeable, but stressed safety & seriousness at the same time. How did you get them all in 1 location??!! Fantastic experience: Completed my Learners course here recently. Andrew (great name btw) was a marvellous instructor, able to cut through the anxiety of first time riding to impart skills I would have never thought I could pick up in such a short time. Andrew was a really encouraging and inspiring instructor. Whatever HART is paying him should be doubled. I'm looking forward to returning for further training and intend to ask for Andrew by name when I do.

Positive experience: 5 star for Jo. I failed my 1st assessment, I believe, because of my nervousness, more than anything else. Took a few private lessons with Jo and Michael. Finally passed my test. Jo helped me rebuild my confidence after taking an initial hit. The 2 day course is good, but I took a fair bit of time between the course and license test, probably my biggest mistake. Suggest to do the test within 3-6 months of 2-day training. If you are planning to use HART bike for the final test, I would suggest to pre-test how the 125 CC bikes react to your effort, some of them are actually old and have bad gear shifters. Trainers are def good.

Fantastic experience: I did my learner course here about 1.5 years ago (so I’m still on my LAMS restriction). I’ve since ridden over 15,000km on road and dirt. I was riding up Mount Dandenong today, and was quite aware of my lane placement so I didn’t have to deviate while cornering if someone crossed the centreline. Well, someone was half over the centreline, and it happened so fast I’d never have reacted in time. I’d have collided head on, her doing about 80km/h overtaking 2 cars in a 60 zone on a solid line, in the wet. Thanks HART, your skills and lessons have remained and this is my single biggest “close call” and thanks to how you teach, I’m here typing out a review. For those about to do the course, don’t just pass the exam. Refine. Refine. Refine. Never forget what you’re taught. It WILL save your life.

Fantastic experience: I went for my motorbike assessment with Andrew. Initially I was nervous because I did not know what the assessment would be like. Andrew was very friendly and was honest. Andrew clearly explained what the assessment would be like and made me feel much more comfortable with the assessment. Andrew also gave me honest feedback on my riding skill after I had passed the assessment which was great. Cannot recommend HART @ Kilsyth enough great team! With a great passion for motorbikes and safe riding! ☺️☺️

Fantastic experience: I completed my check ride and license test here. My advice - if you do your check ride here, then do your license test from here as well. You’ll be familiar with the inner track and nearby areas for your main test. I felt comfortable riding Honda’s 125cc bike in the inner track. Simply because it’s easier to ride in such a small area as compared to riding a 300cc bike. Also, when you go on the main road, you’ll barely cross the speed limit with a 125cc bike, whereas with 300cc it’s easy to exceed the speed if you’re not very attentive. The check ride instructor was bit strict and he gave a lot of suggestions. It makes you a bit nervous but it was all good in the end. We went for a 45 mins ride session around Croydon, Bayswater and Kilsyth - just how you would go on second day of your learner course. I felt comfortable riding after the ride. For my license test, I had Andrew as my instructor. He’s the best instructor I would say. The license test is scheduled for 1 hour 45 mins, but actual test is for approx 45 mins and rest of it is revising and discussing the test process. Andrew gave me a lot of confidence before the test and also guided me through the test. I felt very comfortable giving my test with him and the feedback received from his was just amazing. I wish he was my instructor since beginning. Before the test, I would recommend you to familiarise yourself with the area - Colchester road, Dorset road, Canterbury road and Mount Dandenong highway. Look for possible hazards and speed limits. Good luck

I was extremely nervous and Andrew was able to help me relax while maintaining the integrity of the process and relaying all the necessary information to me. I would definitely recommend making the trip out to these guys if you want a comfortable but thorough experience.

Fantastic experience: I have attended HART in Kilsyth for my Learners, Check Ride and MLS test. Ive had Karl, Micheal and Andrew. It's been a great experience, all very passionate about motorbikes and safety, never any form of condescending behaviour or expectation that you will/should know, just simple clear explanations of skills and learning tasks. Every time I have attended to complete a course they have made a point of introducing themselves, explaining what the course looks like and offered copious amounts of coffee, water and refreshments. Lots of discussion on safety and how to stay safe on the road but at all times the courses have been fun and install a love of motorbikes! Couldn't recommend higher.

Feedback was always constructive and positive and the class discussions were a relaxed, open format style, where no question is a bad question. 10/10, will be going back for Checkride, and Assessment.

Fantastic experience: The assessor Andrew took me through the learners course and went really in depth. He actually cares about the people that he teaches, and was really patient after I haven't ridden a motorbike in years. Went from being really apprehensive to incredibly comfortable on the bike in a matter of hours - it was amazing to see. Can't wait to get my own bike, and do my check ride and full license test here soon. Keep up the good jokes legend!

Fantastic experience: What a great experience to get my motorbike "L''s on the weekend. With Michael as our teacher, it was a very enjoyable, very informative and a fun two days. Great bunch of guys in the group made it even better. The information given and experience gained was above and beyond my expectations. I am now much better prepared and confident to get out on the road on two wheels. Edit - so now just completed my licence with Andrew. What another great experience that was, makes 3/3. Fantastic experience: Late in life decision to learn to ride. I failed the first attempt. The instructor (my opinion) was a basic lecturer. My fault I failed not his. Resat day two and passed. The instructor (different one) was a a lecturer, an instructor and a teacher rolled into one, Michael was his name and I could not praise his skills higher. He is good value. Good course as well. I recommend it.

Negative experience: Don’t bother wasting your time and money, they will cancel your booking with no explanation, even without refunding, then they will honour you a check ride 12 months later to to kick you off the course for riding to “aggressive” with a bunch of amateurs who haven’t had any road experience. Instructors and management are shocking.

Fantastic experience: As an older female rider, Andrew showed great patience with me from getting my L, ride check and today my licence. He was very informative, and an excellent instructor but terrible at telling jokes. Highly recommend all to get on the bike and learn from the best.

Fantastic experience: Successfully completed my motorcycle learners at HART Kilsyth yesterday. Having never ridden before, I was apprehensive and arrived with the intention to ride an automatic scooter, due to my lack of confidence and knowledge of riding a manual motorcycle. Michael (group instructor) gently encouraged me to try the motorcycle and built confidence and skills over the 2 days. Michael was knowledgeable, professional, calm and encouraging throughout. Fantastic experience: Completed (passed) my learners course at HART Kilsyth a couple of days ago (April 2022) and could not be more complementary about the instructors and the way the course was run. My group's instructor Michael was fantastic, very knowledgeable and patient and made sure that the five of us understood all exercises and test elements. Michael ran his course in parallel with Andrew who also had a small group, Andrew too is an excellent and engaging instructor. I also took a one-on-one practice session a few weeks before my course, this was with Mark who, yep you guessed it, is also excellent, and this session really helped prepare me for the learners course having never ridden before. I will be picking up my bike soon and can't wait to start my adventures and return for my check ride and licence test in the near(ish) future. Thank you team HART. Update December 2022. Took and passed my MLA a few days ago, with Andrew as my examiner. Andrew was very observant and gave me some good feedback afterwards, and importantly a thumbs up on our return to Hart Kilsyth. I also did my check ride with Andrew leading the group a few months prior, which was a good experience and very helpful in the lead-up to the MLA. I could not fault Andrew's approach to teaching and the knowledge he passed on - thank you, and enjoy the IoM TT next year!

Fantastic experience: Never riden before, but wanted to get a bike so decided on H A R T Kilsyth for learners and was so glad i did. My instructer Michael was great, extremely experienced in both riding and teaching and made the whole process enjoyable and easy. The course was well structered and enabled me to steadily learn then build on the basic things i needed. I,m excited to get going and look forward to returning for my check ride / licence testing. Fantastic experience: I did my learners at HART 30 yrs ago and let it lapse, so did it again 25yrs ago and let it lapse again and finally did my learners again last year with Mark, then the check ride a week ago with Andrew and then did my full licence test! I was devastated that I didn’t pass on the day and had to sit the free re-test that HART offer. The instructors really want you to be safe out there on the road, so with a bit more practice of what they told me to look out for, I sat the re-test and passed! Thank you Michael for putting me at ease and being so calm. I very much value your years of experience and your awesome attitude and professionalism.

The course has come a long way, and is full of very useful techniques and roadcraft that changed the way I ride and think about riding on the road. Honda Hart Kilsyth was awesome, from the 2 day learners course, the check ride and then the final assessment... all of the instructors were very professional and full of knowledge. After my licence assessment having to be booked and rebooked due to lockdowns, I completed a practice lesson prior to my assessment just to give me added comfort. Fantastic experience: I just completely a 2 day learners course for my motorbike licence. And im absolutely appreciative and grateful for the amount of efforts the guys put in there. I went in super confident qnd slightly cocky that i would be great and that I would catch on straight away and would be easy. Little did i know!! It was scarier and harder than i imagined. But i can say that i left with a hella lot more knowledge not only about riding, but safety on the roads when on a bike and am now so much more aware than i thought i would and should be. I didnt pass my first test. Which im so thankful, because im so amazed of what that repeat of day 2 was able to achieve. I wasnt comfident on the first time round and i actually appreciate how easy it was for me to fail, because i learnt its just as easy to have an accident. Not only did i pass the test greatly the second go, but i felt confident that i could be safe and aware on the road when i was to go out there. Id definetely recommend adding a 3rd day option for those who are a little less practiced. Thankyou guys so much for the support and im proud to say that i did the course with you and i wouldnt have chosen a better place to go to. Thankyou for your patience and efforts and i hope to see you soon again for the check rides.

Fantastic experience: I came in with a self doubt that I’m going to pass as I’ve never ridden a motorcycle before. My instructor Michael is hella good trainer and made everyone so calm, it made everything soo smooth all you gotta do is listen, enjoy, ask alot of question and you will 100% pass.
