His caring, compassionate and humorous nature was exactly what I believe everyone in our class needed throughout the challenges of the course, especially me. Fantastic experience: I had an awesome experience at Stay Upright in Werribee and my instructor was Ryland. As a female rider with barely any experience, I was nervous but he made me feel super comfortable and aided my confidence across the entire course. I felt equally respected and encouraged throughout the 2 days. He clearly cares deeply for each of his students, has a great sense of humour and always made me feel supported. Ryland is very good at reading people, balancing feedback and praise incredibly. I had so much fun doing the course and think it was paced very well. Would definitely recommend doing the starter course before if you have no experience, I did that and a private lesson and it was very helpful for me.

Fantastic experience: This experience was my first time on a motorbike. I first completed the 2 hour head start program which allowed me to gain an understanding of how the bike works and getting comfortable on the bike. Then I completed the 2 day MPA course with Ryland. The whole team at Stay Upright was so encouraging and wanted me to succeed. I confided in Ryland about my nervousness about the bike and he suppported me through every step allowing me to pass my course first try!! Ryland continually “stuck up” for me and ensured that the rest of the students in my group were understanding of my lack of experience, which allowed them to be more patient if I stalled or made a mistake, etc. What a great team. A huge part of this incredible experience was due to our instructor, Ryland. He is an absolute professional—knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in every student’s success. Fantastic experience: I completed the two day learners course for a manual bike, did the first day and really wasn’t confident in myself and my ability as it was the first time I’d been on a bike. Ryland was amazing and reassuring during the first day and let me complete it. Before doing the second day I had two private lessons with ryland. Sylvia went out of her way and was amazing at helping me book the lessons as well as being really positive when I saw her on my second day too! The private lessons themselves were so helpful in building my confidence and helping me gain the skills I’d need in the course and on the road. Ryland helped me believe in myself and my ability on the bike. He had faith in me from the first day, he provided such a comfortable environment for me to learn. I found myself really looking forward to the lessons and learning. I could see he had the same effect on others during the course days too. He introduced me to other instructors who all seemed lovely too, as well as offering advice on gear and where to go to buy it. We had a good laugh whilst learning which helped so much! He even made an effort to share my progress with my boyfriend when he came by after the lessons, which really showed Rylands belief in me as well as how much he actually cares. I’m having so much fun riding about on my bike now with a newfound confidence in myself! Everyone at stay upright was so positive and passionate about getting more women riding bikes and I agree!! Definitely the best option. I will be coming back for my check ride & MLA I will forever be grateful, being able to ride a bike has always been something I’ve wanted to do! Ryland made that possible :))

Highly recommend the Head Start course if you have very little riding experience to get you to a level you can be confident with for the Learners course, it really benefited me. Fantastic experience: My mate and I just completed the one day Adventure Bike training with Kristian as the trainer. The course, the content and especially the trainer were excellent. Highly recommended for riders with none and some off-road experience. It helped me correct some bad habits, practice new techniques and understand how to really improve my skills.

Fantastic experience: Haven’t had the best experiences with stay upright instructors, although in saying that when I went to do my final assessment I was assigned to Ryland and I have to say the best instructor by far. Instead of making me feel unclear on instructions he made me feel confident in riding my bike and I truely appreciate it, 10/10 bloke would 100% recommend him to anyone interested in starting their motorbike journey

Fantastic experience: I completed a Head Start course (pre learners) and then my 2 day learners at Stay Upright in Werribee. I couldn’t recommend both courses enough! Doing the Head Start gave me the skills and confidence to walk into the learners course with ease. Alex (who ran the HS) was clear, kind and patient and made the 1.5 hour experience really enjoyable. Ryland (who ran the L’s) was also clear, kind and patient but also consistent with Alex’s lesson. Ryland ran an amazing class, giving personal scenarios, having a laugh and really made getting my learners one of the best experiences!! I am so happy to have chosen Stay Upright and will be back to get my full licence hopefully soon! 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at Stay Upright Werribee :) They have a Honda Grom available which suited my needs (vertically challenged with a height of 4”11) I took a pre-learners and had Lee as my instructor. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable when it came to teaching a beginner like me! He was very encouraging the whole time and prompted me to attempt the Learners. I eventually booked in for the 2 day learners course and was instructed by James. He was an excellent instructor in his teachings and was always patient with the group. He found a way to tailor the experience for each of us learners to get the most out of learning to ride safely. The experience was fantastic and it was great watching James demonstrate the activities with the Grom. James was also very accomodating with the course, letting us start earlier to finish earlier, which allowed us to beat the heat! Special mentions to Ryland who kindly showed me around and helped me get setup on both days due to arriving early :) I look forward to returning for the check ride!

Fantastic experience: I did my day 2 of the riders training with Ryland. I couldn’t have asked for a better trainer than him. So professional and humane. He went way above and beyond to understand each and every student in the group and spent time to understand where they individually needed improvement and provided constructive feedback which helped heaps in the assessment. Fantastic experience: Wonderful place ti get your Learners motorcycle license, was very grateful to have both James and Ryland for my 2 day course, although I failed the my practical test on the second day, Stay Upright provides one free redo for your practical test, came in a few days later and passed my practical test. Fantastic experience: Had Ryland for the first day then Jamie for the second over a weekend course, both were excellent and taught what I needed and more to know to pass my learner test, both theoretical and practical.
