RACT Driver Training Launceston

Negative experience: I do not recommend RAC driving lessons in Launceston, Tasmania. Driving instructor inadequate to deal with the job at hand-RAC need to screen the qualification of its instructors more thoroughly!!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Craig. My son was nervous driving through town but Craig was really good at communicating with him and building his confidence. My son passed his P's on his first attempt. We will definitely be doing this again for our next child.

Fantastic experience: I completed 5 driving lessons with RACT Launceston, resulting in a successful Ps test. I drove with 3 different instructors, and highly recommend Steve and Craig, both of whom helped me feel at ease and confident in my abilities. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for driving instruction in Launceston and surrounds.

Fantastic experience: Everyone I've dealt with at ract is very friendly an easy to get along with but as for the driving lessons I've mainly had lessons with Craig he's an excellent driver coach with a lot of experience an very informative on how you perform as someone who over thinks this is excellent absolutely couldn't recommend a better driving coach

Fantastic experience: SHARING THIS FOR MY PARTNER, IT IS HIS REVIEW. Hi there, my name is John, I am a 45-year-old man who is currently learning to drive… for the umpteenth time. You’re probably wondering why it has taken me so long to get this done? This is the case as I was born with a rare eye condition, known as nystagmus, and as a result of this condition, I have started & stopped my ‘driving journey’ for many years. Although I am legally entitled to drive, I have found it very difficult to pursue…. perhaps it was nerves…. perhaps I didn’t connect with the instructors…. either way, what I do know is that driving has been my ‘Everest’ for a very long time… a mountain that I have struggled to climb over……that was the case…. up until three months ago, when I decided to try and climb ‘that mountain’ again…. a decision that I am so happy I made. While on long service leave, I made the decision to give the ‘driving’ ANOTHER go! I had already heard AMAZING things about the RACT driving school, here in Launceston, so going there was a no brainer…. but who do I choose as my instructor? Straight to the reviews for this driving school, I went. The very first review was a ‘glowing and very complimentary’ review for driving instructor, Mr Craig Hopkins…. then another one…then another one…and so on…..my mind was made up. Long story short, almost three months on working with Craig and I can honestly say that I am the furthest I have ever got with my ‘driving journey’. Craig provides such a caring and safe environment for learner drivers. As nervous as I initially was, I felt instantly comfortable with Craig, so much so that I knew I had made the right decision choosing him. I still have a way to go, but with Craig’s guidance I truly believe that this is going to happen for me, this time. I highly recommend the RACT driving school and Craig Hopkins as an instructor. Regardless of age or skill level, you will be in very good hands.

Fantastic experience: So I've had a couple lessons at RACT Launceston during this year. All with the same person, Craig. I have to say, he's absolutely been amazing. He explain things well, he gives reasons for why he explains certain things. He's also honest on what you need to improve on. With that honesty comes working on those skills in future lessons. Those skills are wonderfully taught. I never realised I had retained so much information and skills from him on my first few lessons until I got a few more lessons recently. So that says something about his ability as a teacher. 100 percent recommend Craig as a driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: Had quite a few lessons with ract driving and I must say Craig from Launceston driving school was the best person I could’ve had to teach me to drive/many other little nicks and tricks to maintain a smooth driving result. He has very simple and effective ways to teach driving and the way he worded everything was really understandable and definitely really improved my general driving ability and awareness of what could or may happen on the road. Highly recommend at least one booking with Craig as he was very helpful and informative!! Thankyou

Fantastic experience: I had 2 instructors and Craig Hopkins was definitely by far the best! He was so easy going, funny, incredibly nice, very knowledgeable and such a great instructor. Just after 1 lesson I learnt so much from him that I haven't been taught by any instructor before. Craig taught me how to reverse park in 1 maneuver even though I was so nervous he made me feel so at ease so every lesson after the first I was excited to drive under his wing and looked forward to future lessons. RACT you're lucky to have this guy. Thank you for everything and for the confidence to finally pass my Ps after 10 long years avoiding the test

Negative experience: Edit after having to do the karen and demand to speak to a manager I eventually managed to get them to set up the account and even this took several phone calls - I went in and looked at every detail that this lady at the Launceston office entered was incorrect. Also I’m severe to profoundly deaf so dealing with people on the phone is extremely difficult and they were not respectful at this business at all. do not waste your time or money with this company. Spent over $500 booking lessons for my son every time we go in the person at the booking desk is “away” we have come on at the time she is available which is 8 - 2 she is never there and other blokes cannot do her job we have been in 5 times so far only to be eventually told she’s now away on holidays and try and book on line so we tried to do this except thr lazy b… did not set up the account with an email address like she was supposed to and dealing with them on the phone is a nightmare they cannot manage to send an email with the link to set up a booking . Management need to get off their backside and sort this staff issue out pronto I was also told to wait 10 days for a refund as well. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but honestly we have had the worse experience with this business.

Negative experience: Our Son did over 100 hours log book, 2 free lessons then we paid for 2 extra lessons with these guys the 2 weeks leading up to test. No issues identified by instructors leading up to test. They failed him twice in a row, these guys are either out to make money or poor instructors. Very dissatisfied, go with other providers.
