Fantastic experience: I can’t believe some of the negative comments on here, John is such a great driving instructor, so patient with you which makes you feel more comfortable with learning to drive. I was so impressed with John, I will be booking my teenager in for some lessons now

Fantastic experience: I had never driven before despite being in my 30's. With John I passed within 4 weeks of my first lesson. He's, fun, professional, and safe. John doesn't simply teach you to pass the test, he teaches you how to drive. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone in the eastern suburbs.

Negative experience: I had a very bad experience with John unfortunately. I agree with many of the lower reviews. I passed my driving test this weekend in less than 4 months with someone much more professional.

Fantastic experience: With John as my driving instructor I passed first go. He is very experienced and knowledgeable and will use all the best tactics to ensure that you become a competent driver in the future.

Negative experience: They forgot about my lesson, didn’t pick me up. When I called them they just said they didn’t have anything booked. I didn’t go to work either.

Negative experience: Had a few lessons with John last year. He is quite charming but more concerned with taking your money than helping you pass the test unfortunately. Drove me round in circles round centennial park so I would take more lessons. Kept talking about needing money to pay for his kids private school education. Would look around as there are better instructors out there...

Fantastic experience: John is a knowledgable and very thorough teacher who prepares you for driving in the real world as well as passing the exam. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: I was a very nervous middle aged beginner.. John stood by me and was very patient.. he taught me well..... i can highly recommend for people living Eastern Suburbs...

Negative experience: rude, abrupt - rip off - i suggest you look around before booking a test with John - I found much better value and well mannered individuals than this bloke.

Fantastic experience: I'm 69yrs old and have passed my driving test, first time with 99% pass. I'm not the most talented technical person and without John's patient and meticulous attention to detail, I would not be confident on the busy Bondi Junction roads. I highly recommend him. Over 30 yrs experience he's learnt a lot about people and puts how to drive safely far above just passing the test Michelle

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Bondi Driving School! John was incredibly friendly and reassuring, even when I put him in quite testing situations he remained calm and instilled confidence in my driving. I passed my test with flying colours thanks to John!

Negative experience: Bad experience! Horrible aggressive instructor who promotes unsafe driving and fear tactics for more lessons. Big NO NO.

Negative experience: Honestly, pls stay away from this instructor, John, for your own good. I wish I had read the other reviews about him before taking lessons with him, but glad that I stopped. John appears nice and gentle at first, but gradually does everything to scare you and take your money by having more and more lessons with him (unnecessarily, although he'd say you must have it). He is NOT a good safe driving instructor, very aggressive, and is ALL just about your money. There are better instructor out there, just don't make the same mistake that I've made (and gladly corrected before too late... :)

Fantastic experience: John is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. He prepared my brother and I for the test and helped us become confident in our driving for the test and beyond. John himself is easy to get along with and provides very useful advice that allowed me to promptly pass my test.

Negative experience: From my personal experience I can not recommend this driving school. John seems like a nice guy and will appear to be very welcoming and gentle for your first lesson. But soon enough he will employ fear and scare tactics to make you believe that you are a bad driver and not ready for the test. He will send you into the craziest traffic and ask you to pull various manouvers and if you make the slightest mistake he will you tell that you will fail the exam like that. Repeatedly. He uses that tactic to great effect to get more lessons out of you and will justify that by saying that he wants to prepare you for real road conditions and not just for the test. Yeah, right. On the flip side if do you survive this psycho horror trip you end up actually being a really decent driver that is not afraid of anything. Your choice.

Negative experience: Unfortunately did not have the best experience with this Driving School (instructor). John is a very experienced and nice person, but unfortunately spent our allocated driving hour discussing how he charged the best rates and provided the best value for money, and then proceeded to declare that I was "never going to pass the test" unless i took more driving lessons. (I did not take further lessons and passed the test with full marks when I went for it two weeks later). For value for money, I do not recommend Bondi Driving School. There are cheaper and equally good driving instructors out there.

Fantastic experience: I tried another cheaper school before that, and it was horrible. They gave me 80% wrong instructions. I had to unlearn all what they taught me. Then I did a few classes with Bondi Driving School, and their instructions were all clear and spot on. John (the instructor) knows the route of the exam with all its tricky parts. I practiced every possibility with him many times. During the exam there were no surprises. Everything went according to expectations, and passed from the first go. Apart from that, he's a very friendly guy and I had a good time during the lessons. I totally recommend this school to everyone.
