Fantastic experience: The day with Gene was extremely informative, practical and fun. We will take our experience with us on our driving adventures.

Fantastic experience: My day spent with Total Driver was a great day for learning more about my vehicle. From the beginning Gene took the time to assess my vehicle with me I learnt about the things to look for with wear and tear. I was instructed in how to sit in the vehicle to maximise comfort and efficiency. I also learnt about air pressure in the tyres and how to maximise for driving efficiency, safety and the added ability to manoeuvre out of difficult situations. When we got to the beach, we went into greater detail on recovery kits and what one has to do before getting on the beach. Once on the beach I pulled my other learner student out of a bog, and then I was pulled out of a sandbog. All under professional supervision and at all times I felt confident and in good hands that everything was ok. And it was. We then spent half hour driving on the beach and it was a glorious day and so it made the day even better. Finishing off with lunch. I learnt so much about beach driving and now feel very confident to take myself onto the beach and positive that I would not be in any trouble. Thanks Total Driver

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Total Driver to both new and experienced 4WD enthusiasts. I have been itching to get my hands on a reliable 4WD and spend my weekends off road, but was nervous about the level of my current skills and knowledge. I was recommended Total Drive by a family friend, and ended up booking a 4 day trip to Fraser Island with them. The team taught me how to assess the trails, how to work my way through exceptionally soft sand, and even how to perform a vehicle recovery. Prior to reaching Fraser Island, the team went through how to prepare our vehicles for the sand, why deflating our tires are necessary and how to ensure our gear is secure and ready for the bumpy journey. If you need a refresher, or need to enhance your skills and confidence in driving, these are your guys!

Fantastic experience: I wanted to improve my friend’s confidence following a minor car accident. My friend is in his 60’s and had lived in a remote part of Australia, with limited traffic opportunities, for the past 20 years. My sister recommended Gene from Total Driver Australia as she had been so impressed with the outcome of his driver coaching with her son. I emailed a detailed referral to Gene and was very impressed at his speed of response, his discussion regarding the referral and his ongoing contact when required. My friend is feeling much more confident and I am so pleased that Gene was able to provide such a successful outcome given I had not felt confident to deliver this myself.

Fantastic experience: Did the level 1 4x4 course with Gene and I had an amazing time! He created a safe, positive and patient environment for me to learn in. He was very thorough and was happy to go over things more then once for me. Drove to Double Island Point where lunch was provided on the beach and the weather was perfect. His goal of providing a great experience he knocked out of the park. Everyone in the group had a great day and learnt heaps. Definitely recommend the experience!!

Positive experience: I had worked with Gene in advanced driver training when my son was born. 17 years later I was happy to teach my son to drive, but also wanted to make sure he got the final "polish" from someone in the industry whom I could trust, that would mirror my standards. I was happy to let Gene put the final touch's to my son's road education to ensure he is a competent, respectful, aware and responsible driver on the road and always drives to a system with good technique. My son passed his test well. Gene was an integral part in making that happen.

Positive experience: Gene provided good knowledge and training to my son while he was learning to drive. My son gained confidence, received good feedback and got his licence within 15mins of doing his driving test.

Positive experience: I engaged Gene to reteach my adult son to become a safer n more skilled driver. My son has some learning issues, n after a minor car accident, had finally become more aware of his need to improve his driving. Gene told me of his own understanding of the human brain, different learning styles, n successes with some clients with brain injuries. He WAS the person I was searching for. I admit there were times when Gene was late, or my son's appt was forgotten. I pushed the issue, n then there was better communication if there was a problem being on time. I now get that Gene has had huge issues from people within n outside his company...so that makes more sense to me. My major positive is that Gene GETS how to teach people with differing learning styles/learning problems etc. Which is EXACTLY what my son was needing. When I have thought certain approaches may work re my son's bad driving habits etc, he has pulled me up n explained why that would have a detrimental effect...n then explained the more appropriate way to encourage the desired result. I would say he is a specialist in teaching people with neuro diverse needs. After searching for a service to assist my son to relearn safe driving skills Gene was the only person I found. I would recommend him to anyone who may have anxiety/ inconfidence/ learning issues/ brain injury etc. There may be a few time or appt changes etc, but THIS type of driving learning is a longer term project than a few quick lessons...AND it is worth a few possible hiccups. I'm thrilled for my son's sake that I found Gene when I did.

Fantastic experience: What i can say about Total Drive is it should be the STANDARD for driver training in this country. It may seem sometimes unorthodox to some people but the NORMAL isnt working, this is why this system does. It teaches how to drive not just operate a car and get your hrs up like so many others, it actually saves lifes, it teaches NOT shows. Id recommend this to anyone wanting to feel safe with there kids driving.

Negative experience: hi, if you have a disabled child please do not go here, they're extremely unprofessional and always late, if you want a beneficial place for your child this is not it. I was a client with Gene. And before you say I'm not in your database (this is an online name I use) my last name is Newcombe.

Negative experience: Had a lot of driving lessons with total driver as we purchased a package. After a while of struggling with manual, decided to just go for an automatic license but Gene kept "accidentally" bringing the manual car. I couldn't get my head around the maneuvers and I ended up giving up on lessons for a few years before finally getting my P's recently (with another driving school). The cars were often dirty inside, Gene would answer his phone during lessons which is both illegal and stressful for a nervous and inexperienced driver, would take ages for him to respond to requests for lessons and emails would be ignored. The lesson reviews and advertisement emails where they would try to get you to spend more money were consistently littered with spelling and grammar errors. I don't doubt Gene knows his stuff, but I always felt he was a little condescending in his knowledge and experience. Package included several things that I'm confident I never received but I was so grateful to go elsewhere that I don't mind.

Fantastic experience: Great program for learning how to drive. Very helpful and comprehensive reading material combined with driving lessons. Gene is an excellent instructor! I would highly recommend Total Driver to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Doing my driver training with total driver was a great expierence. The staff were with me every step of the way and never put me in a situation I was not comfortable with. I would highly recommend total driver to not only learner drivers but also more expierenced drivers looking to become safer on the roads. The Ebooks were awesome, they made learning to drive much easier as I could look over what we learnt in our previous session and study for my up coming test.

Fantastic experience: The reason why we booked out son into Total Driver Training was that this was the only school that was prepared to teach him, not just how to pass a driving test, but how to be a competent driver with real driving skills to be a safe, competent driver. I feel safe driving with our son and am happy to give him the keys to our car. I would happily recommend Gene and his team to any parent with a young person ready to learn to drive. We certainly will be sending our next 2 kids to him as they come of age in the next couple of years.

Fantastic experience: Overall, Total Driver is a great learning experience for all beginner drivers. Wether you've never touched a car or you've been trying for your test repeatedly, they guide you all the way. The structured lessons and progression of driving skills is far more confidence boosting in every way. The instructor you are given not only teaches you to drive but to be aware and infuses skills much more valuable. On top of the one on one driving the given EBooks are a fantastic way to further your knowledge and driving experience away from the car. Skills you need to work on or situation you may need to review are all included and are a sure fire way to getting on the road by yourself. Personally I strongly believe I would not have gotten my P's first go without these guys, I am far more a confident driver. 5/5

Fantastic experience: I recently contacted Total Driver to take over the training for my wife and while she had been driving overseas for years, getting used to the Australian rules and understanding the concept of a good driver were hard for me to relay. Since Gene had been training her he was able to teach her how to look beyond the front of the car and has since gone on to get her licence. All I can say is THANKS - and I can highly recommend Total Driver to anyone especially those going for their licence for the first time.

Fantastic experience: I tried lessons with my husband that was a disaster, then tried another driving school and that was even worse, 2 other driving schools knew nothing. Fantastic experience: WOW, Total Driver got my wife driving on the roads on lesson 1 after two other schools couldn't do this, I was shocked. She did Total Drivers 10 lesson step-by-step program and it was very useful to guide her from not been able to drive to her been a confident and capable driver, whom by the way passed her test first go. Fantastic experience: I took driving lessons with Gene on the Gold Coast and he was an excellent teacher. Although I was pregnant at the time, he was very considerate, funny and gave me extremely useful advice throughout our lessons. The best advice he gave me was to plan ahead while driving which I use everyday. I highly recommend Total Driver school, especially with Gene, if you're a beginner driver.
