Autogear Driving School Chatswood

Fantastic experience: Was recommended to Autogear and I took lessons with Deepthi. She is an amazing and highly experienced instructor who is also very patient and encouraging. Deepthi also points out where my errors are and other potential pitfalls which helped greatly in the driving test. I'd highly recommend engaging Deepthi and Autogear for driving lessons, practices or even refresher courses for experienced but non local/out of the country drivers.

Negative experience: Terrible instructor. He was a poor communicator and very impatient. He made me more anxious and stressed which is not good for a beginner driver. Car was also extremely dirty and full of leaves and soil.

Negative experience: Had instructor named Philip Giving 1star because I can’t give anything below or negative stars. Terrible instructor with poor communication. Extremely negative attitude for whole hour, and barely said anything except “you’re terrible, you almost hit that car”. I explained to him at the beginning that I was not ready to drive on a road and he should have taken me to a parking lot to practice. He also said “you’re driving like a worm” because I was driving slowly. Extremely unprofessional. He repeatedly emphasised how bad and poor my driving is. I know I’m bad! That is why I am taking lessons! A little patience and understanding would go a long way.

Fantastic experience: Philip is really professional instructor. He tells you where you’re doing mistakes and then help you to overcome them. I converted my international license to NSW full license in my first attempt. I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Philip is really a good instructor, I passed my test in first attempt in Chatswood which is so called one of the strictest suburb for clearing test in 3 classes. He gave me very clear view of MUST DO's on the road and rectified specific mistakes of my driving.

Negative experience: Had this guy almost swerve into me a few hours ago (didn't seem to even bother checking blind spots). Imagine my shock when I discovered that it was actually the teacher that was doing the driving and not the student.

Negative experience: I would not trust this guy to teach anyone how to drive. After seeing the instructor almost cause a crash by pulling out of a carpark without giving way to the traffic on the street and still having the audacity to shout at the driver trying to blame them, please do not risk leaving a learner with him.

Fantastic experience: Got my full licence yesterday after taking classes with Philip. Great instructor. Could not have passed the test without his excellent tips and subtle observations. I had an overseas licence from India but I had major bad habits in my driving which Philip made me rectify. Overall a great teacher and a must recommendation.

Positive experience: Philip is a great instructor. Doesn't disturb with constant instructions, instead instructs and explains clearly what was correct or incorrect at right time. If you can listen and follow the simple tips he has, Philip can help with correcting old habits and with basic rules.

Fantastic experience: Philip is a good man, patient. It doesn’t matter what level you are he will accept you, I myself only went for 1 or 2 lessons before my exam which I essentially only had 1 shot to do it due to my circumstances however with the ongoing nerves , Philip along with his driving expertise gave me the best advice , which was to simply relax haha, if it’s meant to be and you’ve put in your time and hours then you should be fine All to the glory of God I passed my first go in Chatswood , thanks to Philip, I recommend him!!

Fantastic experience: "Pare" Philip is a cool guy. Gives his honest feedback and opinion on where your driving is at. Highly recommended to everyone needing lessons to get his/her NSW driver's license. Following his teachings and techniques, I got through the driving exam on my first attempt. I was told by my mates that Chatswood is one of the toughest suburb for driving test. Being an overseas driver, I found out that I had many flaws in my driving and Philip reminded me of my mistakes and made sure that I was correcting them. He even gave me another book (not the NSW driving test handbook nor NSW road users manual) for me to read,which he thought would help in getting the license.He genuinely puts an effort for you to get the license.
