Fantastic experience: Rick is not only one of the best instructors of all time, he is also one of the best people ever. If you are looking to get your manual licence, look no further as this is genuinely the best manual driving training in Cairns.

Negative experience: I am from Argentina and I have had a drivers licence for 7 years now, but my licence is expiring in December so I want to have the Australian drivers licence. So I want to take one drivers class so I am comfortable in the test. And here in Australia, I have an automatic car, but i want to have the drivers licence for automatic and manual, so I want to rent a manual car for the drivers test. So, I didn't take the driver training class with them, I just called because I wanted to take 1 class and then rent their car for the practical test exam to have the australian licence. The man told me that he wouldn't rent me his car until I did several classes with him, and then when he knew I was ready, he would give me the car for the drivers test. But the thing is, he was very rude, not understanding and not helping in any way. So he made me feel bad, so in the end, I just hung up. Maybe he is a good teacher because everyone in the reviews seems so happy with him, but with me, he was very rude.

Fantastic experience: I have been to several driving schools in Cairns and Cairns Driver Training was by far the best. I used to be a very nervous driver until I drove with Rick. Always a load of fun and really knows his stuff.

Fantastic experience: I had clocked all my hours in NSW and then took a two year break from driving before continuing in QLD. I'd forgotten practically everything and it was a just a matter of relearning everything. Not only did Rick set me straight, he provided fascinating insights into roadrules and vehicle mechanics that enriched my understanding of the dynamics of driving. By the end of every lesson I always felt I'd made progress because no matter my shortcomings, we worked through them one at a time until eventually I just did everything right. Fantastic experience: The thing that makes a difference with Rick is that he doesn't just tell you what you need to do, he tells you why its necessary and the mechanics behind it and really creates so much of a better understanding of the car. Fantastic experience: Having a lesson with Rick as my driver instructor was one of the best thing that a learner can have. The way he teach all the stuff about road rules was easy to understand as he knows a lot of knowledge through his years of being an engineer. Just like what Gene Pauko said he cares a lot about his student and will patiently go through all the stuff again and again, that a student might have a hard time learning especially manoeuvres and :D. You also learn from him on how to be a safe driver and how to deal with any situation that can save your life and some ones life(Green light doesn't always mean its safe). Through him I've become knowledgeable and confident on how to drive a car. Plus his also a pilot so you know your dealing with a person with lots of knowledge about safety. Fantastic experience: Rick is a patient and understandable driving instructor. He gave me great details into how a car works and an insight into mechanisms such as the clutch so I could not only understand how it works but to be able to drive safely on the road.
