Fantastic experience: I was new to 4WD's and not mechanically minded. I had completed a 1 day course with another provider that taught me some things, but I wasn't anywhere near ready to explore this country alone. Luckily I found Pindan and was struck by their passion for travelling this country, which was matched by their knowledge, qualifications and experience over many decades. I undertook the basic and advanced course back to back, which meant one full day of crucial theory followed by two full days of fantastic fun exploring the best of the Flinders. The content taught and the way it was taught was top notch. If I didn't understand something right away I just had to seek clarification and Norm could break it down to my level even further, or explain it another way. But the best part about the training with Pindan is you do the theory first, but then you do absolutely everything you could ever need to do with a 4WD with your own hands and that makes understanding it all so much easier. You see how useful the theory was when you are driving around applying it. The theory day also shows priceless videos of other peoples mistakes so you can learn from them, I found this video analysis incredibly helpful. I got to perform every type of terrain driving possible (except mud or snow, it was the Flinders in summer after all) including both beach sand and desert sand which is softer. I got to drive exclusive rocky terrain and see spectacular sights on huge mountains as well as blast through sand and due to Norm's local connections customers doing his training can access spectacular tracks filled with wildlife and challenging terrain that are not open to the rest of the public, giving you otherwise unseen views of the Flinders. I was taught numerous driving skills crucial to safe 4WDing. You practice every kind of recovery you could possibly need and if you want to do any particular skill more times than usual to feel more confident you can. The one on one training is so well customised to what you need as a future traveller. The assessments are fun and take some time, but they don't take all day so when they are done you can simply explore glorious 4WD tracks up the mountains, or tear about in the sand dunes of the desert, or practice any particular skills you choose to repeat, all whilst Norm acts as both a driving instructor and a local tour guide full of historical knowledge on this stunning part of Australia. When the driving and recovering is done, you are blessed with wonderful photos and videos thanks to Coralie. Even if you don't have your own recovery gear yet, you can do the advanced recovery course and use all of their gear. But my advice would be speak to Norm first either by email or phone, or wait until you are with him in person, before buying any 4WD gear at all. He has no sponsors of any kind, all his recommendations are made in good faith. But he is far superior to the internet for knowledge of the best products because he actually uses recovery gear more than nearly anyone and has been living and breathing 4WD's for decades and decades, he knows what works and what is necessary and unnecessary. I feel so grateful to have met such a kind and knowledgeable couple to give me the necessary skills to explore safely. 4WDing is their passion, not just their business. You also leave with a book that has EVERYTHING you could need written in such an easy to understand way. It has diagrams that you will understand so much better because you have done it all with your own hands. I give Pindan training 10/10, nothing else you do will match the comprehensive nature of their training, which is nationally recognised and can provide a 10% discount off Club4x4 insurance. I will hopefully join Norm and Coralie for one of their epic tours through Australia at some stage in the future. But for now I can travel wherever I wish with the confidence I can keep myself and my loved ones safe even in remote destinations or incredibly rough terrain, and that feeling is priceless.

Fantastic experience: Norm & Corralea are great leaders…..they’re highly organised, great communicators, make you feel welcome and their knowledge is second to none! Each day we knew where we were going, what time we were leaving, what we were going to see on route and time of arrival. Upon arrival we had time to setup before we gathered for ‘happy hour’ as an inclusive group.

Fantastic experience: Last Monday I was able to do an Advanced 4X4 Course with Norm and Coralie. It was a Jam packed day with learnings happening from 0830-6pm non stop. Norm and Coralie were amazing and full of experience and knowledge. I learnt many things and picked up many tips and tools along the way. it was a one on one training day using my own car, helping me to understand how all the settings buttons and contraptions work with my car and recovery gear and pushing me and the car to limits I havn't experienced before. Well worth the time, effort and money and as a bonus we got to enjoy a few days in Quorn and surrounds which are also well worth the time spent up there and getting some views from the top of Devils Peak. Fantastic experience: What an awesome weekend we just had with Pindan Tours We completed a 2 Day 4WD course with our aim to learn what our vehicle was capable of and how to safely take our family away on 4WD adventures. Norman and Coralie were so friendly, knowledgable and patient throughout our training, there were no questions too silly or hard and everything we learned we got to put into practice there and then. Not just once, but a few times each until we were comfortable we knew what we were doing. They made everything so fun and personal, and we’re now both confident enough to get out adventuring with our kids! We also loved that the course was tailored to our vehicle. We only have a stock standard 4WD Triton and we managed it all! (Can’t frighten a triton lol!) I would highly recommend this course if you’re like us and wanting to learn how or what to do when going off-road, or just to brush up on your skills. Thank you Norman & Coralie at Pindan Tours! Fantastic experience: Norm and Coralie are amazing 4WD & ATV trainer's and guides, through my work place I have been able to complete both my 4WD training and ATV training with proper certification and parchment, not only were both experiences high quality, thorough training sessions with both theory and practical elements but they were fun! Norm and Coralie made me feel comfortable providing morning tea and from the moment the training began it was very professional, even their beautiful dog Muffin helped assist with pats and lots of doggo love throughout the day, it shows that not only is this their business it's their lifes work and they make you feel very safe comfortable at their home. I would definitely recommend working with Pindan 4WD and Training if you're looking to gain more skills and confidence behind the wheel of an 4WD if you're heading off the bitumen and ATV for other adventures! Fantastic experience: A fantastic 2 days of 4WD training. Unlike some others, this is one on one training with Norman & Coralie Bee. Their knowledge and practical know how is huge and they make the training fun. Norm even came up with a solution for lowering the spare tyre & took me to the local shop to let me know what I should carry. I received a certification when I was finished and even booked on two of their upcoming tag a long tours to the outback. I would thoroughly recommend taking this course, I loved it.

Fantastic experience: We recently completed the crossing of the Simpson desert along the Madigan line with Pindan Tours and 4WD Training. Norman and Coralie provide a relaxed professional tour filled with 4WD information as you travel, the history of the land you are travelling in, flora identification, and laughter. Fantastic experience: My husband (Mark) and I undertook a 2 day training course with Norman and Corralie in our Next Gen Ford Everest in April. As it was only the 2 of us on the course, the content was adapted directly to our needs and our vehicle. The theory (day 1) was informative, interesting, clear and concise and was always backed up with examples, reasons and the safety aspect. Day 2 was practical where we learnt a lot about the capability of our vehicle as well as understanding the types of terrain. We each took on the driving (where I initially felt out of my depth), but with Norman's genuine belief in my ability, I was eventually able to comfortably perform each of the tasks. Fantastic experience: We recently completed a 2-day 4WD training course with Norm at Pindan Tours. What a fabulous experience! Highly recommended. We expected a large training group, but Norm tailored the course just for us based on our level of knowledge (zilch) and what we wanted to achieve (a bit of confidence in the outback). The training was so thorough, with an emphasis on learning first then putting everything into action ourselves - the best way to learn. In just two days, we're amazed at how much we've learnt and achieved a good level of confidence which is exactly what we hoped for. Norm is a wonderful coach, took the time to explain anything we couldn't understand and taught us so much about the features of our own vehicle along with recommendations for future adjustments. Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this 2 day 4WD course with Norm and Coralie from Pindan Tours and 4WD Training. We learned so much about the capability of our Isuzu MUX off road and gained confidence driving in sand dunes, steep inclines and descents and over rocky terrain. We got to do this outside of Quorn in the beautiful Flinders Ranges so the view were stunning along the way. We also learnt how to get out of trouble using recovery gear when bogged in sand. Norm and Coralie are extremely knowledgeable in 4WD and helped steer us with the necessary recovery gear to have on hand. They are also lots of fun, we had plenty of laughs, enjoyed Norms muffins for morning tea, and many pats with their dear old dog Muffin. Fantastic experience: After completing the two day 4x4 training for work. I feel a lot more confident in taking the work Hilux off road. I now understand all the features and how to keep myself and others safe while driving. Norm is very professional as an instructor, and safety is paramount. Day 1 you are warmly welcomed by Muffin (their dog) and undertake a full day of theory and necessary as in day 2 Norm and Coralie will take you out to practice the theory. I cannot express my gratitude in what Norm has taught me. With over 35 years in the industry Norm and Coralie are experts at what they do. They love what they do and it shows ! So if you're a complete Nervous Nellie (me) or a Smartie Pants Know-it-all (also me at times) you WILL benefit. Both trainers are full of knowledge and experience which they willingly share. Fantastic experience: Recently completed 4WD training and 40th Anniversary Red Centre Tour. The training over a two day period is comprehensive and well delivered. We learned a lot in an enjoyable environment. Norm and Coralie were friendly and capable hosts, going above and beyond expectations, especially when Norm helped replace our failed UHF aerial during the tour.

Fantastic experience: Completed Googs Track Tag along Tour recently to gain more experience towing our camper trailer in some more challenging conditions. The track certainly provided the challenge. We both enjoyed the commentary on the history of the track & the flora & fauna. Camping at Nalara Rock was a highlight. Even though our vehicle suffered a mechanical mishap which threw a spanner in the works, Norm & Coralie's expertise & professionalism got us back on the track. Many thanks . Fantastic experience: We recently had the pleasure of learning how to 4WD with Pindan Tours What an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure the experience was genuinely enjoyable and fun. Norm willingly shared his time and knowledge and was so patient!!!! Fantastic experience: Recently completed the Googs track 4wd adventure with Pindan tours. Expertly led by Norm and Coralie they included tips and tricks of 4 WD driving on some testing sand dunes, history of the track, flora and fauna of the area all adding to make this an awesome experience. Highly recommend this tag,-a-long tour to really improve your skills and knowledge of 4x4 driving. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in the bush. Very much looking forward to the next one.

Fantastic experience: We did a 2 day training course in our 4x4 Mercedes Sprinter campervan. One very thorough day of theory and on the 2nd day we put this into practice, on sand, rock and mud. Norman and Coralie were excellent trainers, being very thorough in their approach and generous with their time and knowledge. Fantastic experience: Just did a day tour around the Flinders Rangers with Norm and Coralie, specifically quite a bit on Mt Little Station. It was an awesome day out. Brilliant running commentary while driving around by them both. Caring and thoughtful drive assistance to both parties (us and the other lady driving her camper van), both drivers new to 4WD-ing and had previously done the training course. We can't wait to go out and do another, longer tour with them. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend anyone who is keen to learn 4x4 skills and techniques to do their 2 day training. Norman and Corallie are truly 4x4 experts and through their demonstrations and supervision I was able to learn about the capabilities of my Ranger as well as gaining confidence to tackle more challenging terrain than I would have contemplated before. Fantastic experience: Hey team I was lucky enough to do a Pindan 4x4 course early this week with Norm and Coralie. It was part of my Ranger Training, prepping me for some pretty amazing parts of Australia. I thought I knew a thing or 2 about Four Wheel Driving. But as it turns out, I’d just scraped the surface. I must admit, some of the creek crossings we went through, I never would have attempted before, but the team 100% boosted my confidence throughout the day, teaching me how to climb slippery rocky terrain and gnarly creek crossings while navigating tricky obstacles along the way. Fantastic experience: We did the 2 day 4WD training using our truck based SLRV motorhome. As well as the course content and delivery being excellent, I was more than impressed with their caring attitude and willingness to spend additional time to ensure all our queries were answered. We learned heaps, with our confidence considerably improved.

Fantastic experience: My wife, Maree, and I have just returned home after completing a brilliant two day 4WD course with Norm and Coralie. I have spent many years myself both teaching and being taught. I can say without doubt this was one of the best, most effective, and most enjoyable courses that I have done. Maree and I were at different levels of experience, which is a challenge when teaching. However Norm managed to make it all work so well for both of us. Maree was quite nervous, never having been happy to drive our big 4WD previously but with Norm’s gentle guidance she was able to climb and descend steep and rocky Flinders Ranges tracks in low range and she successfully completed all the competencies she attempted including snatch recoveries bogged in sand both as driver and as coordinator. Prior to the course I had some previous 4WD experience but I still learnt a lot more than I might have expected and greatly increased my confidence as well. The practical exercises were all excellent. Norm adapted well to each of us and constantly checked we were getting what we wanted and needed. In particular we both liked things like the clever ways to work smarter when changing a wheel without having to strain and risk injury. Norm’s depth of knowledge and experience would be hard to beat. I would thoroughly recommend Pindan 4WD training for anyone at any level. You will enjoy it and your knowledge and confidence will significantly increase. Thank you again Norm and Coralie. Fantastic experience: Wish there were 6 stars. Norman’s training in real life 4x4 terrain is fantastic. As a nervous beginner, I was put at ease and shown the skills I really needed to know to get the best out of our vehicle. Highly recommend whether you want the basics or more advanced techniques.

Fantastic experience: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Norm and Coralie at Pindan tours provided us with a truly excellent 2 day training program. Norm’s professionalism and high caliber, accredited course content were exceptional. (I had previously done a 4WD course in Adelaide so thought I had a fair handle on things. However the range and depth of new information I got from Norm showed just how poor the other course was.) Norm provided a comprehensive and insightful theory program on the first day which we could then test in a safe and controlled environment on the second day. Norm’s tailored program meant not only learning huge amounts more about my own vehicle but also the opportunity to explore the capabilities of our Bush Lapa off road van. Norm and Coralie were extremely generous with both their knowledge and time staying long after finishing time to answer our many questions. We now feel far more confident to engage safely in extended off road 4 WD activities. Fantastic experience: It's not a coincidence I see every other review here is five stars because as everyone else has said, Pjnda 4WD training is unbelievably good. Cannot speak highly enough of Norm and Coralie and what they do. I learned so much and came out not only with new knowledge and skills, but a lot more confidence to go down the tracks I'd been avoiding. I'd spent quite a bit of money on my 4WD but just didn't know how to get the most out of it - I'd go so far as to say everyone who is getting into 4WD should do this course, no exceptions. The one-on-one format is unbeatable... you learn at your own pace, ask as many questions as you want, go over the things you didn't quite get, nothing beats it. And norm isn't just a lovely bloke, he really knows his stuff. I could write pages about what i got out of this training and how highly I rate it but hopefully you get the idea that I'm a fan. Found Pinda by accident but am so so glad i went with them. Was way beyond my expectations and worth every cent. In fact, they should be charging way more so maybe go do the training before he does.

Fantastic experience: The one on one training was just want I needed, I learned what my x-trail and I were capable of, what our limitations were and a whole lot more besides. Norm was a great teacher and I've come home with much more confidence and I'm really looking forward to my next adventure

Fantastic experience: I've finished a 2 day private 4WD basic course with Norm and Coralie and it was fantastic. Being a 4wd beginner (4WD Ford Ranger ute with a Ozcape slide on camper) I wanted to make sure I knew what I could and shouldn't do with my vehicle. I learnt so much including spares I should carry, battery info, differences with 4wd and all the functions you can use to assist you whilst driving to look after your car, differences in road sufaces and how to gauge the terrain, driving in sand, rocky terrain, mud and water. We had a day of theory which was never dull as Norm showed plenty of videos from youtube on what happens when you don't do it the right way (funny and frightening). Day 2 was practical and really increased my confidence not only in what I can do but what the ute/camper could do. Coralie was a greater teacher as well and had amazing knowledge of the flora of the area. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone, great value for money, Norm and Coralie were excellent teachers and couldn't do enough for you and taught the safe way to do things. I look forward to taking one of their tag along tours in the future!!!! Thank you so much Norm and Coralie.

Fantastic experience: I would give this more stars if I could. Norm and Coralie were excellent instructors and taught us a lot about our car and what it could do, and how to do it. They built our 4WD confidence by 100% and more. We had theoretical and practical experience. They welcomed us into their home and endeared themselves to us with their easy going nature all the while challenging us to do what we didn't think we could. The weekend was worth every cent. I highly recommend Pindan Tours and 4WD training.

Fantastic experience: Norm and Coralie are fantastic tour guides. The kind that will keep you captivated and wanting to absorb more as they take you deeper into the Flinders Rangers and sarrounds. Was a journey for me into the unknown and the past, exploring our state pioneers dreams, facing their hash reality in this frontier land long ago. Norm and Coralie flesh out the story behind the ruins that dot the journey. We followed behind whilst we made our way into the Rangers with Norm ever present on CH 57 keeping us well informed of what's to come and sometimes what has come long ago. For those who like offroading Norm also holds training sessions for the novest and wannabe experts alike, but like us if taking a less rugged approach is your thing (or your ability) these guys cater your needs. I honestly have never enjoyed as much the company as I did the scenery that Pindan provided. It's the best way to journey the Flinders Rangers!

Fantastic experience: I recently undertook the 2 day 4x4 basic training course. As a complete newcomer to 4x4ing I wanted to be sure that I would learn to do everything properly and safely right from the beginning: I was not disappointed; Norman was very comprehensive in covering all the basic knowledge and theory and happy to answer any questions; the practical side and putting all that knowledge to use was great fun and a comprehensive introduction to all the basic 4x4 skills. At the start of the day looking at the hill we were to drive up was quite daunting, at the end of the day I could drive up and down it safely and with ease. At the end of it I felt confident that I could go off road safely knowing the capabilities, and limitations, of myself and my vehicle. I could not recommend this course highly enough to anyone who wants to get started in 4x4ing and to start with the right practices and habits from day one. Also I should mention the incredible hospitality of Coralie who made a great lunch on day one as well as helping with the recovery skills on day 2.

Fantastic experience: We can’t thank Norman and Coralie enough for the fantastic 2 days we had with them undertaking the 2 day 4x4 training course. We had 2 small kids in tow and Coralie was just amazing at looking after them and keeping them entertained with arts & crafts and activities while Norman provided my wife and I the training. We gained so much valuable knowledge about off-roading, car handling, driving techniques and were thoroughly impressed with the course delivery, content and professionalism. Norman is a great instructor and capable of making even the most cautious driver feel confident handling difficult terrains. I would highly recommend this course and Pindan Tours. Can’t wait to join Pindan Tours in a tag along tour in the near future when the lockdown restrictions are over.

Fantastic experience: Two of the best days we have had! We cannot recommend Pindan tours highly enough. We spent 2 days in training with Norman and had a blast. We learnt a huge amount about 4WDing and had a lot of fun doing it. We were impressed by Normans passion for 4WDing and the outback, as well as his professionalism combined with country hospitality. We found the theory really valuable to inform on the practical lesson. We learnt some great information about the mechanics of the car, tyre pressures, terrain types and what ‘not to do’. Norman’s videos and photos kept the day entertaining and the theory was really well presented, organized, interesting and informative. The practical day was a complete blast. The tracks we went on showed incredible views and enabled us to put the theory we had learnt the previous day into practice. It was controlled but challenging. We learnt recovery techniques in both rocky terrain and desert sand. Norman also took us through some safety driving on gravel roads. The day was jam packed and Norm and his wife Coralie were both very generous with their time and knowledge. Since doing the course we have now already been on tracks designated for experienced 4WD’ers and we felt competent, and handled the tracks well. If you want an adventure and have never done any 4WDing (like us), or just want to brush up on your 4WDing skills we would highly recommend getting in touch with Norman at Pindan tours. We haven’t been on a tag along tour but having spent a couple of days with them, we think it would be fantastic. We hope we can get back over this way some day soon to do one!!

Fantastic experience: Hi Norman, Thanks again for your time and expertise over the weekend - I certainly learnt a lot and am much more confident to attempt more challenging terrain as a result of your course. As I mentioned to you, I was not looking forward to the theory section, but it was very informative, gave me confidence during the practical session and was highly worthwhile - the day literally flew by. Obviously, the practical was what I was looking forward to, and it did not disappoint. The scenery and terrains traversed were amazing, and getting to practise all the techniques and experience different surfaces/terrains was challenging and fun. The defensive driving techniques were an unexpected highlight - my adrenalin was certainly pumping. My skills, knowledge and confidence have grown enormously and I can’t thank you and Coralie enough for what was an amazing weekend in the beautiful Flinders Ranges. I now look forward to joining you on a Tag-along tour and completing your Advanced Driving course. I will no doubt also make great use of your Handbook to refresh my memory of the bits that I will no doubt forget. Thanks again Andrew Threadgold
