Fantastic experience: Hendrik is the man!!! The friendliest, chillest and strictest instructor you can find in this area, that will make sure you improve and go out there as a safe driver. I passed both DKT and driving test on my first go, converting my overseas licence to a NSW licence, having zero previous driving knowledge in Australia. From that to a full NSW licence, couldn’t have done it without Hendrik. A nice hang with him with coffee and cake awaits you when you pass. :)

Negative experience: The instructor’s teaching approach may not suit everyone. The nature of a driving lesson is that you will make mistakes and learn, but here if you make mistakes the instructor gets impatient and says things like ‘how could you not see that’, ‘how did you miss that’. This reactionary approach doesn’t help you learn. I’d advise being more calm and composed in giving explanations. Good luck!

Fantastic experience: "Before Hendrick" - failed test as I didn't stop as I was supposed to with the 3 seconds break at the "Stop" sign and failed to do a regular head checks. "After Hendrick" - 101 score points and hooray my drivers license! "Before Hendrick" and "After Hendrick" time difference is one week and two lessons. Hendrick prepared me specifically for the driving test, and thank you so much Hendrick for doing it so amazingly! Tip number one - even if you feel as confident as I was feeling (with 16 years of driving experience overseas), driving test is all about precision in following the rules. Better to know what is expected from you (silly in my confidence me). Tip number two - my second test was with "Mobile Team One" in Penrith as Hornsby was fully booked out for months in advance. "Mobile Team One" was able to accommodate my time slot within one week time after my first test. And I personally (subjective impression) at the time of my test - 12 pm found roads in Penrith to be a bit quieter than in Hornsby, which helped me to preserve calmness and not to feel so nervous. Fantastic experience: I booked my daughter in a few weeks ago with Hendrik for a pre-test assessment after she completed her 120 hours with no prior instructor lessons. He gave her valuable tips for the test and tweaked a few things with her driving. My daughter loved the lesson so much she wanted a couple more before she sat her driving test. Fantastic experience: It took only three days for me to do lessons with Hendrick to pass my drive test and he was so helpful all throughout my lesson until the day of the test He immediately knew what I need to do in order to get used to driving right hand drive and he did it with only three hours of lessons. Fantastic experience: Been driving for 15 years and had to switch to a NSW license. Hendrick is a fantastic instructor with deep understanding of road rules and defensive driving. Additionally his preparation class for the Test was outstanding. Danke mein freund.

Negative experience: I didn’t find or think Hendricks driving lessons were as great as others may have found it. Firstly, he doesn’t give you the full hour lesson. If I’m paying for an entire hour than I expect an entire hour. Secondly, his boring and dull personality coincides with his driving lesson. Dull & Boring!! Thirdly, his teachings don’t prepare you for Sydney traffic driving. They prepare you to pass a simple test while lacking all the actual skills required to drive in Sydney. And lastly, he lacks patience. Whether he realises or not if one makes slight mistakes he gets quite irate. On a few occasions he raised his voice when a mistake was made. This aspect of ones character does not belong in a driving instructor.

Even taking into account my 15 years overseas driving experience without your tips and professional advises, I wouldn't pass driving test soo quickly. All lessons were very efficient, with smart recommendations, gentle and calm pointing out my weak points in order to improve them for the test. Also it's important to mention than Hendrik Duinker knows the local districts very well and he showed me all tricky intersactions and important places which helped me a lot during exam!

He covers all the things in the test very comprehensively including other things that aren’t in the test but that as a driver you need to know! If there’s something you don’t feel a 100% confident with he will either practice it in your lesson or flag it as something that you will look at in more depth in your next lesson.
