Fantastic experience: After 60 years of driving I sought Julia’s opinion of my driving performance and a refresher on the road rules. Julia was punctual, clear, friendly, patient and plainly knew her stuff. I needed an independent assessment (with a not too complimentary “satisfactory” rating from her) as well as the correction of some bad habits and a misunderstanding of some road rules. I would recommend Julia for anyone wanting to drive safely and competently but especially for someone like me needing an appraisal of their driving skills and knowledge after many years on the road. Fantastic experience: Really great experience having driving lessons with Julia. I was very nervous and anxious about driving in Sydney after not driving for a few years. Julia has provided great tips on how to drive in a safe way and has been very patient. Having used other instructors it is very clear that Julia offers more than other instructors and is highly experienced in dealing with anxious drivers.

I went in for a couple of refresher lessons to help with my confidence on the roads after a break from driving and felt that previously daunting concepts were explained very clearly and simply. Negative experience: Driving with my son on his l plates this morning and we were stationary admittedly our car was a fraction in the next ( right ) lane ( learning spatial awareness) , one of your cars went past and beeped us and the instructor gave us a filthy look, pretty poor form I think. You should be teaching patience, I thought the horn is supposed to be used in emergency and not out of intolerance or frustration.. Bexley rd, 7.50 am.

Fantastic experience: I picked Julia because I don't think anyone could be a more reluctant and anxious learner than me. Her website said nervous learners were catered for, and from the beginning of the first lesson I could see that she was ready and willing to be patient, and encouraging enough to match my (low!) level of confidence. Having never been in the driver's seat before and getting past middle-aged, I needed all the support I could get, and Julia delivered. I have no hesitation recommending her for any learner needing to go from zero experience to safely driving in Sydney traffic.

Fantastic experience: Julia was absolutely lovely! All I needed was 2 lessons. She simplified my overthinking - I don't need to remember anything because actually, driving is intuitive and Julia's instructing is so practical! It didn't take tens of hours (like I thought it would) and I could park within 5 minutes of the second lesson! She takes the stress out of parallel packing, road rules and steering techniques - all while having a brilliant sense of humour (and creating a comforting environment!). As an anxious driver, I was a bit nervous to get in the car but upon meeting Julia, the anxiety of it all faded away because of her openness to questions and patience to guide, give advice and just have a great drive! Fantastic experience: I had never driven a car before and was a nervous driver, especially driving around in Sydney CBD. Julia taught me everything and was always calm and explained everything in a way that anybody could understand. Love that she was always organised, had notes for me to read about, could answer any question I had and taught me how to do hand over hand in my first lesson (and I struggled to do this for ages at the start)! A few months ago, I never would have thought I could have passed my test on the first go at Bondi Junction of all places but that was possible because of Julia's great teaching skills! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: We did a lot of research trying to find a good instructor in Sydney and Julia came with high reviews so we decided to give it a try and safe to say it’s without disappointment. I had never ever been behind the wheels of a car in my life and after only a few short months I had my license on first try. Julia is very calm which makes a nervous new beginner a lot calmer too. She makes learning reverse Parking EASY! The nice car is was also a plus! Can’t recommend her enough.

Fantastic experience: Only took me two lessons with Julia to feel confident going into my driving test, which I passed on the first go! Her ability to explain things in a way us common folk can understand is superb. She really takes the time to explain things in detail for you. She makes parking a breeze! Fantastic experience: I had my first driving lesson with Julia today and I loved every minute of it. From the moment I got into the car I felt calm and not half as anxious as I have been with other instructors. Julia explains everything in a calm easy manner and as an older driver I really felt that at 57 I really could get my license because of Julia. I would recommend Julia in a heartbeat, Im only sorry I didn’t come across Julia years ago, I would be a confident driver by now however with saying that, with Julia’s patient calm guidance and lovely personality I have no doubt I will get my license.

Fantastic experience: Since I came to Australia (8 years ago) I have been struggling to get over anxiety of driving under different conditions here (driving on different side of the road, lots of traffic etc). After searching online for a good driving instructor for a while, it looked like Julia had everything what I was looking for and she didn't disappoint. Didn't take me a long time to relax next to her patient and calm self. She made it super easy for me to gain confidence back. Fantastic experience: I had 3 2-hour refresher lessons with Julia after not having driven for many years. I also have huge anxiety going on the road since I'm not used to the Sydney traffic condition and I couldn't make myself to even drive one block. Julia is a great instructor and gave me very clear feedback on what I'm doing right and wrong. She gave easy to follow directions and good notes I can take home with to review after the lesson. She was also very patient in answering all the questions I have. She helped build my confidence very quickly and ease my anxiety greatly within a couple of weeks. I look forward to taking more lesson with Julia for more challenging environment and traffic conditions.

Negative experience: Julia advertises that she’s an expert in anxiety, ASD and disabilities but faulse. Kept making bookings and taking booking over our booked times and wanting to reschedule and slot us in peek traffic times...Anyone who knows changes like these create anxiety. Who would want to teach a total beginner how to drive during peak traffic periods? Initial conversation was pressing for NDIS. If you don’t have NDIS funds, they’re not interested. It’s all about the money. Don’t waste your money or time. Very dissatisfied.

Fantastic experience: I came to Julia for an experienced driver lesson in reversing/reverse park. Her tuition was straightforward, logical, and correct. Although I'm still practising and honing my skills in this area, I'm now both equipped with the foundational knowledge and practical skills to execute the reverse (park) manoeuvres correctly. Fantastic experience: Fantastic driving school. I highly recommend Julia! Julia is fantastic at explaining parking visually which is often the essential element to learning for people with autism. I passed first time after only 2 lessons with Julia. She even allowed for me to bring my autistic son along for a lesson as i had mentioned my biggest fear in driving was that he would have a meltdown and distract me. She removed the fear for me in that 1 lesson. Thanks so much Julia. I recommend you to all the people I support now! Julia is NDIS approved too so if you have a goal of driving to assist with independence and community participation Julia is perfect to assist you!

Negative experience: Taking unexperienced/unconfident learner drivers through the Royal National Park is unsafe, and frustrating for residents and other road users. I think it's great that you teach learner drivers how to be safe on the road but going 20kms under a 60km speed limit with about 19+ cars behind is dangerous. If you do take lessons through the National Park, at least advise your learner to be courteous enough to pull over when possible to allow for others to pass safely. EDIT: Before you jump to conclusions, I was more than 7 cars behind your learner driver, its sad to hear how you can talk so aggressively that way, I NEVER intended to be nasty and am saddened you took it in that way. I learnt how to drive in the national park and continually pulled over safely for other drivers. I have never tailgated or driven dangerously so for you to accuse me of such things when assuming who I was I find very offensive. I took your details when I was pulling up at myhome and had caught up to you. That is a very unprofessional way to take criticism, especially when it is directed at the COMPLETELY WRONG person, don't make assumptions but I am sure I speak for every driver in that line up. EDIT 2: Don't try and reword your accusations, and continue to not take responsibility. If the learner was that distressed its your responsibility to keep them comfortable and composed. Did you see the line of cars behind you ? The car directly behind you has nothing to do with me. The initial review was simply pointing something out to you. The bottom line is, the onus is on you as an instructor to keep your student out of distressing situations, especially being on the Autistic Spectrum, even more so. Coming from a family with a special needs sibling, I am well aware of how any situation can become extremely overwhelming. It was not long ago I was learning in the Royal National Park and I know that there is AMPLE opportunities to pull over safely and giving enough notice with an indicator to pull over. I feel that your reply is passive aggressive and with patronising intent. I would expect an apology for blaming me for the actions of the driver behind you.

Julia was my 3rd and final driving instructor and by far the best out of any other instructors i've heard about or had first hand experience with. Julia has an amazing level of patience and breaks down each situation making things easy to understand and easy to complete, i recognised that if i had any other instructor they would of reacted in a more impatient and angry manner towards the mistakes i made at the start of my time with Julia, but she stuck with me and never gave up on me. Seeing how happy Julia was on the day that i passed my driving test just made the whole experience even better.
