Fantastic experience: Absolutely 100% recommend Rod and team for all truck training needs! I did most of my lessons with Rod and he was wonderful; very calm, polite, helpful and just easygoing and great to chat with. I had one lesson with Di and she was lovely too. Also my initial test booking with dept of transport was a mess; I was given an unavailable spot somehow and instead of being pushed back to a much later date Rod made room for me over several days for lessons and rearranged the test time for me. Just a really great company all round. 10/10!

Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend Rod enough! With absolutely no prior truck experience I woke up one day and decided I wanted to learn how to drive crashbox trucks. Going straight into HR class Rod had me up and driving within 30 mins of my very first lesson. His calm, patient and highly knowledgeable approach made me feel extremely comfortable and in complete control of the heavy vehicle even as we ventured into the middle of busy Mackay city areas. Driving in these conditions really pushed me to be a better and more aware truck driver. His calm method of teaching allows anyone to gather their thoughts and focus on the task at hand - learning to drive a truck. With his help and knowledge I was able to get my HR Crash Box license on my first attempt. His communication was impeccable and always responded to phone calls, texts and emails, and he also laid out all of the costs before the first lesson e.g. cost per lesson, cost of the practical test at TMR and cost of the theory test at TMR, so budgeting for everything was easy and no hidden surprises. Cannot fault the service this guy provides.

He doesn't just teach you the minimum to pass the test, but also how to actually drive a truck and doesn't get angry when you crunch his gearbox or wear down his clutch. Fantastic experience: Just passed my HR (crash box) driving test last Friday. I ever held the view that it was extremely hard to manipulate a crash box, especially for me, an automatic car driver. However, it was actually kind of easy when I found myself making progress in each class with the help of Rod. Really nice trainer with great patience and rich experience!
