Negative experience: Don’t waste your money here. Was 3 minutes late to the course and told I couldn’t join with no refund. Having done this course before with Stay Upright who let someone join after being 15 minutes late. Do the training course with Stay Upright as they respect the customer far more

Negative experience: im sure the guys great and all but he's completely lacking a backbone (telling you to leave if you're 10 minutes late, god forbid there was traffic) and probably didnt have the whits to just mark me down on time and complained about losing his license if he let me in so i had to drive an hour home and didnt get my money back (not the instructors fault) i understand the money thing and being on time isnt his fault but you've gotta be a bit of a pussy to do that. for the love of god just leave 30 minutes early.

Negative experience: Unaderra is the worst place to do your test, instructor the rudest person I’ve done tests with Highly recommend another school even if is further

Fantastic experience: I recently did the adventure bike training in Newcastle (Adamstown). It’s amazing how much they crammed into a day and Paul was an excellent instructor. I’ve grown in confidence, specifically in the area I wanted to address (sand). The training is great value, too. The only concern was technical, namely ground clearance on my V-Storm 650, which prevented me from navigating the bigger obstacles. The other ADV bikes had no trouble and I was still able to do almost all the training, but a good bash plate is essential for any bike on this course. I recommend Wheel Skills Adventure Bike Training without hesitation.

Negative experience: I highly recommend booking in advance to get a better school. From the start I never received the email about the course only to find that reception had mis spelt my last name. Then I find out I was put in for a manual not an auto which is the reason I called in the first place. Our instructor seemed to be nice and start off well but as we made mistakes (as pre learners) do, the yelling and the cursing was just too much for me and very intimidating and unprofessional. I've also had problems with bullying historically so it triggered some pretty awful trauma. The instructions were also a tad unclear and sometimes hard to hear because of the weather. I will be using another school for my Ps - I heard stay upright is very good.

Fantastic experience: Great facility, awesome trainers

Negative experience: Worst experience of my life with trainer John. He was far from professional and would not recommend him to anyone. Not even a minus ten star rating would cut it!!!!

Adam Forsyth 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: John and Wayne did a great job teaching us the fundamentals of riding bikes! Highly recommend to guide you through the learning process!

Andrew Li 1 year ago

Negative experience: Horrible driving school. The instructor didn't take the time to properly teach the students and rushed through the course material expecting you to do everything perfectly the first time around. Rude and unsympathetic staff with a horrible refund policy. Use stay upright instead for a way smoother experience.

Fantastic experience: Top place to learn the skills of motorcycle riding, very open learning centre!! The gentleman l had , is a top bloke!!! He knows his stuff about the motorcycles safety and clothing , handy skills he passes on to the groups. It's not a rush, but he has to stick to a time going through the course with the group. 11/10 l give it

Fantastic experience: Fantastic training. Did my P's test with Aaron and he was super helpful. Highly recommend. Plus the practical ride around the views in Unaderra were pretty sick

Fantastic experience: Steve our instructor was an absolute gem! Going into the learner course I had all the learner jitters but Steve was patient and understanding and had loads of useful feedback to get me through the anxiety I was feeling. I'm now ready to practice the skills I have learned and look forward to returning for my P's.

Fantastic experience: Scott is an excellent coach, very knowledgeable and extremely patient. Guided us very thoroughly through out the curriculum activities. Overall, I am not only learning to ride from A to B but also picking up quite a few things about psychology and hazard perception too. The motorcycle interfacing scheme is more challenging than cars, which also makes up a good learning topic for my job. Great work Scott!

Fantastic experience: Completed my course 4 years ago with Jethro. Have been back on my own time multiple times since then to get no nonsense advice from him. The bloke speaks your language, is as patient as the day is long with the experience and intuition to provide feedback to help you be the style of rider you want to be. He is a genuine salt of the earth dude. An absolute dude. There are few Wollongong monuments, but Jethro is up there with the towradgi hump and the cringila half house. much love Jethro

Fantastic experience: The instructors there are absolutely awesome, they're very friendly people. I had Shane for my P's course, and he was really helpful, giving us all a bunch of tips to help us pass. I genuinely learnt a lot and was super glad to have gone to this centre. He made the process a whole lot easier for me to pass.

Fantastic experience: It was Bec's last day after 23 years as an instructor at Wheel Skills. What a privilege and honour it was to ride with her today. Thanks for everything Bec. You're a bloody legend!

Fantastic experience: Completed my Learner's course and P's/MOST course here. Had Jethro both times. He is a very experienced rider, fantastic and effective educator and all-round really great bloke. His patience, expertise and instruction left me with skills and knowledge to ride safer on the road. Jethro took the time and care to ensure we would be better riders, rather than take our money and push us through the course. Thank you Jethro.

Fantastic experience: Really friendly and helpful guys here. L test is run through very smoothly and ps test is done the same. The staff here work to make you as comfortable as possible and offer a range of services to help with tests. Highly recommend these guys if you are going for your L or P plates

Fantastic experience: This place is great especially the instructor Bec. She was easy to hear even when it was noisy and explained everything very well. I definitely feel more confident about riding.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience completing my pre-leaner course with Pete at Unanderra! Pete was patient, knowledgeable and helpful and helped me ride a bike for the first time. Would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Rude staff. I live an hour away from the center. My bus was late and, as a result I was late by about 20 minutes. Per booking agreement, if I am late I have to rebook at the same fee, no refund. This is frustrating but understandable. My issue was with the instructor when I arrived; unsympathetic and rude - he simply did not make me want to rebook with this organization.

Negative experience: I was unfortunate to have a lady as my instructor who was a bit rude and kept yelling at me for no reason. After living 8 years in the country and doing a diverse range of courses in different domains, I have never come across this sort of behaviour before.

Glen Wong 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Did my Ls here about 3 months ago, had instructor Dan, really good guy who was committed to teaching us how to ride properly and safely. He was pretty patient with us when some of us struggled with some aspects of the course. He was also quite outgoing which was nice.

Fantastic experience: Matt and myself had a great day and wanted to thank bec for teaching us.. great experience

Max Harris 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Have done both my L’s & P’s tests here. Both good, easy, helpful and enjoyable. Bec was a great instructor and was accurate, engaging and clear.

Negative experience: Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere! I have never witnessed such unprofessional behaviour in any business like I did at Wheel Skills Unanderra. The instructor Bec, and I use the term instructor very loosely was rude, swearing excessively, angry and spoke badly to participants it was really hard to watch. Reading the other reviews it seems I'm not the first to witness her unprofessional behaviour.

Negative experience: Had my booking locked in since September 25 and notify me with less than 24 hours’ notice before the course is due to start that you don’t have an instructor available for tomorrow? You didn’t know your staffing situation until less than a day before?? Now everywhere else is booked out for the foreseeable future. Thanks a bunch. Had to move so much around to make these two days work and now it’s for nothing. Extremely unprofessional. Will be in contact with you regarding my refund.

Fantastic experience: Had a perfect riding experience. Our instructor Geoffrey was knowledgeable, approachable, friendly and funny. Was a great comfortable riding experience. Equipment, bikes and compound was perfect and compliant to Covid conditions. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic experience: Been and done the Pre provisional course All the staff are very welcoming to all skill levels Very informative of what need to be done to keep every one safe Just won't to give a big thank you to Jethro for all the info very well explained Stay safe well done

Gareth Winchester 4 years ago

Negative experience: I wouldn’t go anywhere near these people. My child had an emergency the morning before my course. I tried to contact them by phone and email before hand. When I spoke to the lady she was incredibly arrogant and rude with zero compassion, so they took my money anyway. Head down to Bomaderry to Stay Upright. Far better school with a reasonable cancellation policy.

Fantastic experience: The instructor Jethro, was a brilliant trainer. I arrived full of anxiety, about my test. Jethro, within half an hour had me relaxed and ready to go. It was a great experience, that will set me up to ride safe and happily for life. Well Done %

Negative experience: Disrespectful mentor unlucky. I had never face this type of unofficial experience in Australia from last 6 years. Really disappointing. I don’t want to mention the mentor name because of her and the institution reputation.

Troy Hardie 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: A great facility, all equipment was very clean. Most importantly, the facility is well managed and all staffs that I dealt with on my courses were very approachable and knowledgeable. Most importantly they all had a sense of humour! A very professional site. Well done Wheel Skills, Unanderra.

Jayden Webb 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: I had my provisional course with Jethro yesterday and had such a great experience. He was very tough with all of us and forced us to unlearn bad habits and re-learn professional techniques. He justified everything we did with an example of his past riding history and pushed us really hard. By the end of the day, we all completed the course with ease and I feel like I now have the tools to grow further as a young rider on the roads, as we will always learn from experience. Thank you Jethro so much for all your efforts, I really appreciated your teachings and hope many more riders have the opportunity to learn with you. Knowledge is power. Cheers, Jayden

Negative experience: Was an Okay course, content was good, however the instructors are very relaxed, for 3hrs over 2 days, you could really fit it in, in 1 day. The course is so dragged out by war stories and irrelevant content, not only is it unprofessional but a waste of people's time and money, yes we pay for the course, but keep to the time framemes set out by your website. I would recommend other places over this one to start with.

BINOY NICHOLAS 4 years ago

Negative experience: You get a good instructor only by chance (I had one during my first course). Wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for some training. Too unprofessional, impatient and foul mouth.

Tyler Wood 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Did my P's 14/03/21 with a bloke called wakka, or wazza, not sure, some bloke from the Navi, he was really good. Keep your head up he kept saying, by the end of the course my head was up and my balance had improved 10 fold. Most other things I felt I had a handle on, but it was that one tip that Ive been practicing non stop and I can now ride slowly in traffic confidently, and balance smoothly around corners. Im not going to be sentimental and tell you he saved my life, but I can honestly say that his insight will make me a much better and safer rider in the future. It was pelting down rain all day non stop, his insight into wet weather riding will prove to be helpful as well..... Cheers Wazz (i think that was your name )

TJ Fletch 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Jethro did my L's and Azza did my P's courses. Very experienced blokes and made me feel comfortable the whole time. I have severe anxiety and Azza's calmness honestly got me through the day. Feeling a lot more confident on the bike after these courses. Cheers and happy riding.

Fantastic experience: I finished the pre learners 2 day course today and had great time. I had Jethro & Dan as my instructors who are both awesome, down to earth, authentic guys who have a genuine love and passion for riding. They do a great job of breaking everything down into basic steps and sequences, which is easy to understand. They give you plenty of valuable tips from their 40+ combined years of riding experience and are very knowledgeable about all aspects of riding. I would highly recommend taking a course with these guys. I travelled down from sydney as I couldn't get a course in my area for 6 weeks. Im glad I went down and plan on making the trip back down to do my P's and other courses with these guys in the future.

Fantastic experience: Me and my son just completed our pre learner course a big thank you to the excellent staff at wheel skills unanderra and to our instructor Shane who was fantastic, friendly and very helpful, the knowledge he knows is outstanding and to have that passed on to us is great thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: Did the pre learner course, learnt alot and had fun. I had instructor jethro top top bloke absolute legend, really knowledgeable and experienced guy. super nice and kind guy.

Aaron Little 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: A great team of staff... thorough, patient, knowledgeable and fair. Are able to take you through step by step. This training is for all experience levels (including none). To provide licensing pathway for motorcycle rider licence Ls & Ps. Courses are booked through wheel-skills website provided you have an RMS number (licence number), bikes are provided for L’s and can be hired for P’s if required (however this is not ideal as familiarity with a bike is required to pass the Motorcycle Operators Skills Test. Bring a hat, sunnies, water bottle snacks ... it gets hot out there on course, or cool in winter and wet weather.

Fantastic experience: Jethro is a top bloke and great instructor. Cheers

Hany 7 years ago

Negative experience: Instructor Jethro was picking on me all day ..looks like he didn't like me for somereson. And Ofcourse at the middle of"Most" test he fail me me befor I even starting assuming that I hit "MANY" cones in the 2nd test. which would be only 5 points if i hit all of them .then he asked me to stop the test .. I will do MOST test again but I will make sure Jethro is not the instructor next time . I have a good experience when I done my L's with instructor called Stephen. He was really professional. And helpful .

John Coughlan 9 years ago

Fantastic experience: I recently completed the 2 day pre-learner rider training course. The instructors, Jethro and Steve, were very experienced and extremely knowledgeable with clear and concise instructions given throughout. The course was very well structured and had a lot of focus on safety. I would highly recommend Wheel-Skills Unanderra to anyone wishing to obtain their motorcycle licence
