Fantastic experience: Absolutely stellar experience. Trainers are calm and attentive, and testers are fair and understanding. Keen's will make sure you're ready for a test before you can do it, ensuring you aren't blowing money on resits. Trucks seem mechanically sound and drive well. Finally got my HR thanks to Keen's and would recommend to anyone and everyone who is looking to get theirs. Brilliant service.

Negative experience: Had a very good instructor who communicated clearly and seemed a natural at being firm but delivered with a smile. The assessor who owned this place was the exact opposite, having had a grand child diagnosed with cancer meant I was fried and hence froze a little when conducting the silly and nonsensical cabin drill. Hence this recalcitrant of an assessor failed me after a bad cabin drill and then lied and said I didn't check the external lighting. After I asked him to apply the brake....go figure. So thanks mate on top of life's struggles you take 2500 grand and want me to spend another 1245 bucks to re sit another test. Note during all my lessons I never failed reversing the hc trailer, never hit a roundabout or kerb and always drove as a professional heavy vehicle operator should, having held my open hr licence and operating trucks for 30 years. So perhaps the DOT places more emphasis on a cabin drill than actually being competent in handling a prime mover and trailer, thats the message I decoded. So I would rather spend another 2500 with a more professional considerate school that actually cares about how it conducts passing on the oil of knowledge. I will not forget how I was treated and hung my head in shame as I walked out of that place.

Fantastic experience: Had 2 different instructors to me the skills in how to drive a Road Ranger truck, both were very friendly and understanding. My assessor was very calm, supportive and friendly during the drive which calmed my nerves, as I was super nervous going into the test. Best parts of the whole process was 1. Passing! and 2. how wholesome and how much of a hype crew the ladies in the office are. Thanks Keen Bros team, highly recommend people to give these guys a go in learning how to drive trucks.

Fantastic experience: After the second time sitting my MC I finally passed thanks again.. Good quality truck I drove for my MC good trainer as well, gave me the tools and training to get through also very patient and helpful. Definitely recommend with there kind and good vibes staff there. Easy parking in the front , they have toilets, tea and coffee also there’s a lunch bar across the road if you want something more. Thanks again!

Julie is great, and has a lot of techniques that will help you a lot. Paul, the one who did the assessment is a good man, not intimidating and keeps me relaxed while doing the test. Nice experience. Negative experience: Hello dear readers I would like to share my experience with this school today Today something happened that really made my day :D I had a total of 3 training sessions here, after which the driving instructor told reception that they could book me for another 3 hours + test because I was "ready for the HR TEST" Unfortunately they couldn't give me an appointment and because I work FIFO I didn't want to wait 3 weeks for my HR test All in all, no problem, but I would now like to tell you something that I have never experienced at any institute/school/office... The first time I arrived at this school, F at reception asked me how much money I had because I asked her whether I should do the Roadranger or just HR. But dear F it’s non of your business you can’t ask a customer how much money he/she has and certainly not on the very first arrival, really disrespectful. Unfortunately, I still decided to do my HR there because I don't know my way around Australia and I asked a truck driver in the mine which school he did his HR license at and he said Keen Bros. A while later, I met someone in the mine who suggested another school to me and I contacted them. The other school said that I needed an SOA so that I could continue my progress there without having to start from the beginning. That means the 3 hours + test, which is also much cheaper at the other school. Arrived at Keen Bros today and asked for the SOA, but they couldn't give me a SOA, which is why I was angry and got loud. Then I went out for a moment and called the new school I wanted to switch to and they told me what the problem might be. A short time later, I went back to reception and apologized that I now understood why I can’t get a SOA and also that I got loud and asked them for an appointment for my practical test. I also said again that I found it really disrespectful that F asked about my savings, especially when I first arrived at the school, because that's not how you greet customers and I told them that money is everything to them but the reception said: we don't need your money. T (another lady at reception) didn't believe me and swore that F would never ask something like that. T was looking into the monitor and was ready to book me for a 3-hour drive + test, but I just walked out because I still hadn't received an apology from F and especially because T didn't believe me. Now dear readers, pay attention, because here comes the big surprise T ran out with the Epthos machine and after me and shouted that without payment I can't book you for an appointment I opened the car window and answered her "all is money" I have never experienced such unprofessionalism before Now I’m asking here the ladies at reception if money is not everything for you and you are not interested in my money why T run after me today with the Epthos Machine and F asked on my first arrival there how much money I had Omg you guys are really funny that’s why I want to thank you ladies for making me clear that you just interested in the customer’s money and their savings Ps: I wish I could take a picture of it and share it with you here or the whole adventure would be recorded and shared on tv because that would show how unprofessionally the reception and disrespectful treat their customer. Also thank you T for the picture in my mind with the epthos machine on your hand and run after me

Negative experience: Instructor was a nice enough bloke but feel that I was taught in a really complicated way. Splitting every gear and some expectations that were unrealistic. However, this teaching style almost overprepared me when faced with an easier, more realistic way of driving after moving to a different school. Assessor made an already nervous test experience more challenging by making it feel like a serious exam with no errors to be made. Just felt as if passing my test was not in their best interest. After failing I was asked to pay another $400, which lead me elsewhere and passed first time with no issues. Overall, would not recommend.

The office staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the whole process smooth and easy. The instructor was top-notch, providing clear instructions and guidance throughout the training. Fantastic experience: Recently did some training/lessons last Saturday for my HR, i had a guy by the name of Damien i believe & he was absolutely amazing. He was so Friendly, considerate & professional. He Kept my nerves down and my confidence up. All the staff, including the lady from the office were amazing. The lady from the office was super helpful, friendly & was so encouraging :-) I passed my test & left even more happier than i already was with the service and friendliness from these guys :-) Thanks so much to the whole crew down at Keen Bros - Definately Recommend 100%

Negative experience: Do not use this service!!! Keen truck driving school use very old Antique trucks (freshly painted to look new), these are very difficult to drive and do not represent current trucks, they do this deliberately because they know that it takes many more lessons to learn how to drive and pass a test. it is a scam company. 0/10 stars from me

He gave me the time to ask questions and explained the answers exceptionally well ,leaps and bounds above other instructors I have trained with. I was taken for very useful lessons and given helpful advice that helped me improve and ultimately pass. Couldn’t be happier with my experience at Keens Bros.

Negative experience: These guys are the most disrespectful degenerates in all of Western Australia. Every single day they drive at 20km/hr on major roads during the busiest times. I don't know if they're climate protestors or what but they seem to enjoy causing traffic jams and mayhem on our roads. Absolute scumbags. Mrs Keen failed to teach her boys basic consideration for others.

Fantastic experience: It was recommended I go here for my test after having a horrible and extremely unprofessional experience with Liam from transport training at Naval Base. This man knocked my confidence right down to the end of the barrel. The minute I first arrived to Keen Bros, they were fantastic with me. After my first day with them I was extremely upset and disappointed with myself for the pressure I put myself under after the damage Liam caused previously. Every member of staff along with Kaye (owner) could not have been nicer and more supportive to me. The care they had and the support received is second to none. Due to the fact I live out bush they then rebooked me in a manner to suit and to get my licence in the one visit to Perth. My trainer was amazing as was Kapol at the previous place. I passed my test and of course I was over the moon but the staff from Keen Bros were also genuinely excited for me. Kaye and Paul are genuine business owners and genuinely want to see people do well without big noting themselves and chasing money. If these guys think you need an extra lesson please trust them. As far as the other eejit Liam is concerned he will tell you, you need 10 more lessons, he is all about money. Kaye and Paul are not all about money, they are about getting you your license. I 100% would recommend Keen Bros and should I ever want to get a different license this is the very place I will be going to. Thank you to each and every one of you at Keen Bros for giving me back my confidence

Negative experience: I went for my heavy rigid licence on the 4/10/2023. It was booked in with keen bros in maddington. I went a bit nervous but I am an mpu and stem truck operator in blast crew so I’m aware of how to drive a truck. I could not believe how strict this company was and how rude and descending the trainer was. It came down to where I position my hands on the wheel and using their correct wording in the cab drill. What does where my hands are positioned and how I word things have anything to do with getting my licence? (Both my hands were on the wheel) The trainer I had was very rude and I don’t feel he was trying to train me at all. He kept laughing at me and huffing and puffing which is very off putting when you’re trying to concentrate. My reversing wasn’t perfect but shouldn’t you focus on that instead of saying we don’t have time for this (I had 2 hours left) sighing saying let’s just go. I was so uncomfortable in this hole experience. They say on their website their instructors are easy going and patient, well I didn’t see any of that. All I saw was an angry instructor that made me feel useless.

Fantastic experience: Recently did my HR with Keen Bros and I highly recommend. I had Julie as my trainer who was absolutely lovely to learn from and experienced in what she does, I enjoyed my training days from her and felt like I learned alot. I had the boss man himself test me and for someone that usually gets nervous and stresses in tests he was nice and we just went through the test like a normal drive with no pressure.

Negative experience: Money grabbing business....failed me because l didn't know their stupid cabin drill with 15 points off by heart....been driving cars and MR trucks for 41 years...got my MR in a manual F350 V8 ...and the trainer stopped for cigarette for 10 mins...should have been doing more training...will be contacting DOT

Negative experience: Racists comments towards colleagues in the office. Instructor was unprofessional and purposely confusing telling the wrong methods (as confirmed by assessor at the end of the day). Office staff asked for feedback in writing which I gave, the owner of the company took it as a threat. Don’t waste your time with this cowboy company.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely stoked I completed my hr-b licence today with keen bros, Everyone from the three lovely young ladies in the office, to my two awesome instructors made me feel confident and comfortable, I was no truck driver when I started but a couple days with Damien and the legend in the bucket hat haha, I was ready for my test which I passed first try, I will add that my last instructor was extremely impatient, rude and laughed at me when I made mistakes, which was very stressful. But my previous training came through and all in all was a good experience and I would definitely recommend this crew, cheers guys.

Fantastic experience: After a few months of lessons, my son was able to get his HR License yesterday. Well done to him. He works 2:1 which made communicating difficult so left it to his secretary (mum) me . All the office staff made it very easy to book and pay. Their prompt replies and friendly manner made the prices so easy and pleasant. Highly recommended using these guys for all your driver training for trucks. Positive experience: I had 3 different instructors. 2 were amazing, very professional good trainers (Graham and Damien) taught me everything I needed. Graham went over everything with me towards the end before my test. He is amazing. I highly recommending these guys to train you to do a test. I passed first go. Owen wasn’t nice. He doesn’t know how to give instruction. Didn’t have the best English. He was rude, very impatient and made me so uncomfortable. Although Everyone else there is amazing and friendly. Staff politely changed my assessor’s due to my not so great experience with African guy and he literally didn’t train me. Just insulted everything I did. I don’t recommend him at all.

Negative experience: ATTENTION This place is an absolute RIP OFF!! I paid for a full day to sit my HR license close on 1000 dollars I received total In adequate training.. the instructor and accessor (ROB) had a conversation about my driving before I started my test automatically giving (ROB) a bias opinion before starting… it was meant to be Full day training.. I started at 12:30 meant to be there at 10:30 my instructor had called in sick…. We had an hour lunch break. 2 lessons for the day and after being told the instructor thinks I need more lessons but still proceeds to let me sit the test.. RORT… DO NOT BOOK HERE… so many other places with way better training. And you might have a shot at getting correct professional training not met with a passive aggressive instructor, who didn’t want to be there

I done a 1 hour lesson which the instructor took me round to get me used to the truck and then a test which I passed! Both instructors made me feel at ease throughout and gave me the confidence I needed to pass. Would highly recommend and best priced out of all the HR training academies! All staff associated very helpful

Fantastic experience: Couldnt reccomend anybody else. The whole team really went out of their way to look after me much more than you could ask. I was a nervous wreck but they got me through it. It was genuine and i could tell they cared. Even got to go for a ride with Mr keen. Caz cant thank you enough.

Negative experience: Trainer tried to recruit me the whole time instead of focussing on my 3hr lesson, failed test after being pinged for hand movements I was doing the whole 3hr lesson but never corrected. Then told I could come back for another $400, what a scam!

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Tracey was accommodating to get me in asap for HR road Ranger lessons, and test. The instructor was absolutely amazing and very helpful teaching myself double clutching, and re-teaching me how to reverse using only mirrors, and all the fiddly stuff to go with it. The assessor was also brilliant, and didn't make me feel uncomfortable, but as though everything (apart from directions) was my choice. 10/10 recommend these guys. DO NOT BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT BAD VEHICLE MAINTENANCE, ALONG WITH NEGATIVITY ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS. TOTAL BS.

Negative experience: Finish 3-hours of driving in a roadranger leaking coolant with a passenger staring out the window, only to fail the assessment and get told "2 or 3 more hours would probably get you there" - doesn't seem like they go out of their way to teach you much. Hit and miss with the "instructing" .. maybe if it didn't feel like a setup to charge you again, it wouldn't be so bad.

Negative experience: I was training in Keen Borthers to learn how to drive track they said you're driving everything you're good but reversing not that good i request them for more reversing practice they said we only do per listen two reverse practice not more than that they made some excuse they said otherwise I would track breakdown, Then I moved out from that Keen brothers I different truck company they train me until my reversing get right I have practice 8 to 9 times go to reversing. I like can say my money was wasted in there

Negative experience: Do not go here its terrible. Bad trainers they make something easy hard honestly would be better to leave them at the training centre and go drive solo.

Fantastic experience: I had to get an LR truck licence, and had the very good fortune to have Maggie / Margie as my instructor. She imparts her knowledge really well, and she made sure I was ready to take the test at the end of her lesson. Maggie is a gem - all business during the lesson, and then more relaxed in the drive back after I passed the test. I really couldn't recommend Maggie highly enough!!

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed the experience learning to drive the MR truck with Julie. She was very patient, encouraging and informative and didn't make me feel like I was a bother when I asked questions or asked her to adjust the mirror a million times when I needed it just that little bit more to the right I felt supported and ready going into the test and am very happy for the guidance and experience I had. Very nice to learn and do the test in their truck and have the course and test together in the same session. Recommend :)

Negative experience: Wouldn't employ any of them let alone use any of there courses again giving the answers to the students isn't teaching someone they are putting people's lives at risk .I found them to be dishonest and only interested in getting people in and out of the classes to make a quick buck .

I went in for my MR license and my instructor was very great at her job and you could definitely tell she has the passion to ensure you pass. Fantastic experience: Sridhar is one of the best instructors in Keen. He is really patient and efficient with his teaching pattern. He's also very knowledgeable on the vehicles themselves and his lessons helped me a lot. My instructor was Maurice, he explained everything professional and made me feel comfortable within the first hour of my 3 hour lesson block. Big thanks to Caz in the front office for moving my booking around due to coming off nightshift. All the ladies in the front office are very friendly and would happily recommend for anyone wanting to obtain an HR licence. Passed first time due to great instructions by Maurice.
