Negative experience: I booked Fred Nematian as my instructor for a 2-hour lesson. That was my first mistake. The guy knows his stuff, but he became unprofessional 30 minutes in when it was clear that I was struggling to apply theory on the road. He asked for my age and I answered him. Fred started saying “Oh no, it’s better to learn earlier. Best if you’re sixteen or seventeen.” (I mean, duh. What are you going to? Help me reverse time?) He had quite a few interesting comments. Amongst the few were that I was "never getting my full driver's licence," and "how are you in university if you can't even get the basics?" And it was not just once. Oh no, Fred loved to rant about how bad I was – over and over and over again – and started talking about his other students who “learnt this all within one hour.” When I first got in the car, I thought I would be heading into the driver’s seat and expressed my surprise. From what I heard from my friends, their instructors forced them to drive immediately. Fred liked to demonstrate driving, which is fine, but after I started struggling to drive, he mentioned this encounter mockingly, saying I “appeared confident” so he thought I wouldn’t have trouble driving. Like what? Should every beginner have depressingly low self-esteem just in case they fail? I thought instructors were, if nothing else, meant to build someone up instead of tear them down. Well, Mr. Fred has done a wonderful job in that regard. I understand that a learner struggling to drive can be stressful, but even so, I didn't deserve the verbal abuse. Letting out all your stress and frustrations on me will not make me a better driver, it only makes you unprofessional. Ruined my day and the money paid ended up being wasted.

Fantastic experience: Marta is an excellent instructor, and very capable. She was excellent with explaining all the road rules and driving techniques, which I don't think you would get if you had a family member as an instructor. Her knowledge of test routes is also invaluable in getting you comfortable and confident before your test. Customer service is also excellent, and very accommodating; they will change your bookings without any fuss. I would definitely recommend Onroad, and I'm glad I chose Marta as my instructor because she's awesome.

Fantastic experience: Great teachers, couldn't have passed my test without Paul and Simon. Had a few mix-ups with test times and organisation etc, but Onroad organised and fixed everything up for me, got to me to my test and made sure i passed.

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Jonathan You for his professionalism, patience and diligence with training me for the driving test. In just four lessons with Jonathan, my driving has improved tremendously. I feel that I have become a much more confident and safer driver. The skills which he taught me are invaluable. He taught me to drive not only to pass the driving test but to drive safely for the rest of my driving career. With so many available driving schools and methods of teachings out there, it’s not easy to find the right teacher for you. When I first started to drive, I initially chose a cheaper private instructor. I completed ten structured driving lessons with this cheaper instructor, and it was a huge mistake. This instructor shouted at me, hated being asked questions and would constantly take phone calls from other students and attend to other personal responsibilities during the lesson. By the end of those ten lessons, I had gained little confidence with my driving and truly felt like I had wasted my money. When I took my first lesson with Jonathan, it felt like a breath of fresh air. Jonathan encouraged me to ask questions and was always courteous and thorough with his explanations. For example, whenever Jonathan wanted to show me the correct distance between my car and a stop line, or my car and another parked car in front of me, he would take me to a quiet street and make me exit the car so that I can clearly see the actual distance of my car to the stop line or parked car. Taking this extra step with teaching his students is what sets Jonathan apart from other instructors and I cannot thank him enough. As a learner driver preparing for the test, you hear a lot of misconceptions and wrong advice from people around you. I always felt that I could come to Jonathan and clarify any doubts I had about the driving test and road rules. He was always attentive to my questions and paid full attention to my driving in order to help me. In addition to this, I praise Jonathan for maintaining a high standard of hygiene with his vehicle during the COVID-19 pandemic. He made me wear disposable gloves before touching the steering wheel and he wore a face mask. As he has many students that drive his car, this initiative made me feel safe that I was not at risk of catching COVID-19 when driving his car. I appreciate that he has taken this extra step to ensure our safety during the driving lessons. I will be recommending Jonathan to any friends who may be looking for driving lessons. Thank you!

Negative experience: I had George from Bankstown. He asked me to turn the car on then proceeded to talk for 40 minutes straight. After which, he then said “ok you have 20 minutes to drive”. When i finally started the car, the battery died! He asked to reschedule cause i still had 20 minutes left......... i called the company and asked for a refund. Still waiting. Would not recommend. Update: 9/12/19 issue has been resolved. Received my refund the day after I made this review. thank you

Although I was holding an permanent overseas licence and had good experience of driving overseas I was not at all clear of the rules and speed limits in NSW. I took driving lessons from Mark and he cleared my mistakes and doubts every time. Mark always points out the mistakes and explain every time in detail. Fantastic experience: Mark ( Mono ) was a awesome instructor, i would highly suggest to opt for him, I was driving car for 4+ years in india and still i took 10 lessons with him, i m telling you , you need to opt him and do as he says, listen every word he says. I was able to clear in my first attempt and i made two minor mistakes and the same he told me to correct. So just listen to his words and go with it. He will be little strict with you but i should say that that is the way to learn as early as possible. Thanks Mark again for your time and making me a good driver in Aus

Due to my anxiety being very high and creating a very tense situation, I always felt on the verge of a panic attack and would sometimes end up in tears and stop the lesson. This made me very reluctant to drive and I barely drove for the past year of having my license. So I decided it was time to use a professional driving instructor. After choosing Mark for my very first lesson, I was highly impressed!!!! I was so calm and relaxed, which has never happened before. Fantastic experience: Honestly, I changed many driving schools and instructors. Inspite of that i was not able to pass my test ( i tried it for 4 times). My confidence became weak.
