Fantastic experience: I had a really good experience with Aakar Driving School. They were super flexible in fitting me in at short notice and focused on the areas I needed most — especially helping me unlearn my Indian driving style and get used to NSW traffic rules and Australian road conditions. Mr. Raj, my instructor, was very patient and clear. Negative experience: Absolutely the worst experience ever with a driving school! I was promised flexible and suitable timings before I made the advance payment. But as soon as the payment was made, everything changed. They suddenly had no suitable timings, made unnecessary demands, and completely failed to deliver on what was promised. I ended up losing my money without receiving any service at all. They refused to issue a refund despite not providing what was agreed upon. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but also feels completely dishonest. Please save yourself the stress, time, and money - do not go to this driving school. Their practices are misleading and unethical.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever. Instructor Rajinder was 30 minutes late from scheduled time. Thenafter, he only spent 50 minutes whereas I booked two 45 minutes sessions together and asked me to cover my rest paid session any other day. After a few days I asked him to complete the session. He promised to come at 4pm but never showed up. I did send him message to refund my money but he is not responding. I want to include one more thing, during the 45 minutes session he focused more in describing his personal life like how he came to Australia, about his family and family business, his political links, rather than explaining rules.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test in the first attempt with nearly no errors. I can't thank my trainer Nick enough. I have never driven a car ever and Nick had to start with me with the basics, including where are the indicators , to how to start a car. He was very patient with me . He taught me each and every detail and in a few classes itself I could drive confidently . I used to struggle with my left and right turns, didn't know lane discipline , didnt know double.round about rules ( omg I can't really list what I knew ) for the round about he actually drew diagrams and explained them to me . And he taught me each and everything and made me practice till I attained perfection. After a few sessions once I achieved the confidence to drive he got into the details of head checks, position checks, waiting at the stop sign for 3 seconds , indicator check. He taught 3 point turn and reverse parallel parking with a logical method , something with which experts struggle but me being a newbie found it to be the easiest of all. I never ever struggled with the this most complicated part of driving thanks to Nick. He gave me exposure to drive on motorway, highway, busy lanes , quiet lanes , residential areas, narrow lanes and lanes with slope. With each feedback I got better and he also shared test results of other candidates , that helped me learn from their mistakes as well . ( as in the reasons why someone failed on a particular day ) I had my test today and he was with me waiting at the service NSW office. He went through all important stuff with me out there and I was relaxed as I had him as my moral support . He gave me the confidence all the time saying I will do it , I can do it and guess what I did it . He was also worried and emotionally invested in my learning process and was not merely taking classes without being bothered . He also ensured I had the form filled a day prior and gave me a reminder to get my learner licence . He always told me I can do it and it gave me the the confidence and I never gave up . Thank you very much Nick for all the time and effort you put in training me . I will miss your car , I just loved your car so much and will always treasure and follow the safe driving lessons you provided. Fantastic experience: I've got my foreign license converted to Aussie DL. Raj helped me achieve this with sessions to perfect my driving to become a safe driver. Raj's plus point lies in the fact that he can explain why a certain rule is so. Thus I never needed to memorize the rules as they simply now make sense after his explanation. His fee is a small price to pay for the freedom that a driving license gets you.

Fantastic experience: Highly Recommend AAKAR !!! The only thing my previous driving had in common with the Australian setting was that I drove on the same side of the road. Understandably, I was very anxious about driving in Australia. However, my instructor Raj not only calmed my nerves but also explained the nuances for becoming a safe and confident driver in Australia. He is a very patient, professional, and knowledgeable instructor. He will quickly assess your driving skills/areas of improvement and adapt his mentoring style based on that. The outcome was that I converted my international licence to a full NSW licence on the first attempt.

Negative experience: Absolutely bogus. I took a fair few lessons with Raj and noticed that my driving worsened after each lesson. I found Raj to be very money minded, and he was always selling me packages after packages to mint money. Some of the rates are not very clear too, especially when you cancel some classes or a package. After booking a package of 10 lessons, I was made to pay the entire money in advance. By the 5th session, he was already selling me the "upgraded package" of 20 lessons. I cancelled it right away, and had to bear the brunt of some very high cancellation charges. Would not recommend Aakar driving classes. Update: They haven't reached out. The below reply is also a fake promise.

Fantastic experience: Five well deserved stars to AAKAR and their star Guarav (Gary), who coached our son to P plate success in his first attempt. Its a very professional set up run by experts in their field. My only tip for all aspiring licence holders (and parents) who engage AAKAR is: listen to them as they're the experts. If they think you need 10 or 20 sessions then that's what you need. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: This is the worst driving school in Sydney. Owner and instructor Raj is very unprofessional and rude. My wife took couple of lessons from him and was unhappy with his lack of transparency regarding the charges. When we discontinued his service, he sent us an invoice with outrageous charges and has been demanding payment for lessons he never provided. We rightfully paid him for the lessons we took. He is now threatening us with recovery action. I think he has an army of users posting tons of fake 5 star reviews. If you just sort by the lowest you will find many users with similar experience. Strongly suggest avoding this school at all costs.

Fantastic experience: There are some driving schools who teach you the quick fix way of how to pass the Australian Driving License Test, and then there is Mr Raj and Aakar Driving School who assess your current driving skills, get to the basics of driving and truly make you understand all the “why” that you have always wanted to ask but never found the right instructor. Mr Raj has been exceptional with his flexibility, his patience and his knowledge.

Negative experience: Attitude of the instructor is too much to bear. He will find a way to take your money . If by any chance you need a refund forget it. I have not taken a single class and wanted a refund he talked bad about my country and said this is not Nepal. I’m really disappointed because at first he talked really nicely. I assure you that you’ll find better options then this driving institute any where near hornsby with good attitude instructor. But just save yourself from losing time and money. Don’t fool yourself with the reviews written by the instructor himself from his friends and acquaintances.

Positive experience: Rajinder ji is a very dedicated and patient instructor, and thanks to his intensive training, I passed my driving test in the very first attempt. So a big thank you for that! One disappointment with my overall experience was the lack of transparency regarding additional costs, such as the need for extra lessons, peak hour fees (6AM classes), extra charges for pick up, etc. Having said that, he did provide detailed invoices eventually, but I had to ask for break-downs when making payments as it was always higher than what I’d expected. Will be good if you could be more upfront about this and hopefully you will take this on board with your future students.

Fantastic experience: My trainer was Gaurav (Garry). He is a great instructor and an encyclopaedia on everything related to rules, regulations, driving safely and correctly in Australian conditions. For someone who had never driven a car, and who had never held a license before, I went from L to P1 within a month of his guidance. He taught me how to control a car, with simple and easy to remember techniques. We went from doing a simple u-turn to parallel parking in no time. Gaurav's patience, communication and driving techniques definitely instilled in me the confidence to go give my driving test successfully and pass it in my first attempt. Fantastic experience: I would like to share my experience about the driving lessons with Raj at Aakar Driving school. I would say that I was fortunate to be trained under Raj as he rightly kept pin pointing the minor mistakes I was making during my driving. He is having thorough knowledge about the testing process and knows which mistakes can cost you your test attempt. I have been told by many people that it's nearly impossible to clear the driving test in first attempt but when I discussed with Raj he made me aware that if you focus on doing the things in correct manner no one can stop you from getting the full license in first attempt itself. And we worked together to make sure that all the mistakes are worked upon and as a result I got my FULL LICENSE IN FIRST ATTEMPT. I don't have enough words to express my gratitude for Raj. The sincere effort he puts to ensure that his students know the rules of road and are good drivers instead of using some tricks to pass the test. I have no second thought in recommending Raj/Aakar Driving school to anyone who is looking forward to driving classes. However there are certain aspects you must consider in case you plan to get trained with Raj. Like any other good thing, you should be ready to pay good price for your driving classes as the cost is slightly higher than others but you get the quality for the price you pay. You should also be open to listen to critical feedback about your driving mistakes which is usually not everyone's cup of tea. Lastly, there may be some hidden charges which are not listed on the website and you will know at the time of billing.

Garry has provided realistic feedback from the mock tests and that helped me to focus on my weakness and eventually perform good in the driving test and to pass it.
